Chapter 14: Arriving at Skypiea
[Crocodile pov:]
It has been a couple of weeks since my ship was built and we made our way back from Water 7 with an additional member.
Heeding my advice Mr.5 and Miss. valentine grew in strength, well mostly Mr.5 who decided to continue on the path shown by me increased his power exponentially. Now he uses his explosions not only to attack but also to move around by making explosions out of his arms and legs simultaneously, pretty clever. His power output in his explosions also increased with practice.
Except his weakness to seawater his other major weak point is Caesar Clown, more accurately his devil fruit the Gasu Gasu no mi. An explosion is a Chemical process of burning, emphasize the burning part, a process which cannot happen without the presence of oxygen, a thing over which Caesar has complete control. In the original work he is shown to eliminate the oxygen in a certain area, it's completely insane. One could even make a case saying that Gasu Gasu no mi is the strongest logia type devil fruit or atleast up there with Goro Goro no mi and Magu Magu no mi.
I also started to learn Rokushiki, I have only focused on three moves so far, Tekkai to resist the blows if someone hits me with haki, Soru and Rankyaku. I could try and learn the other three styles as well but it seems like a waste of time, the only benefit is the access to the seventh technique Rokuogan which is stated to be usable only by those who have complete mastery over all six styles.
I have also been experimenting with my recently discovered control over glass. I can turn my sand into it and control it much easier than the first time I tried it, I can also make objects out of the glass like swords and spears, giving me a much more possibilities for attacks. Think of a sword, okay now imagine that sword being invisible thanks to the properties of glass, much scarier. I can also turn myself into glass, but only to a certain point, I haven't been able to completely transform my body into glass, like I can with sand.
Other than that not much else happened, some meetings with king Cobra but even those couldn't be called interesting. It has been rather boring. But that feeling is currently not present as I find myself in the waters surrounding Jaya. We are currently experiencing a rather special? happening.
"What the... What are those?!" Said Nami as we watched three giant figures with small angel like wings in the sky.
"Shadows I presume." -Crocodile
Even Lucci was rather shocked at what he was seeing.
"Shadows of what?!" -Miss. Valentine
"What else but sky people?" -Crocodile
it didn't last long as we passed it but the uncanny feeling stayed, at least for the others.
And so, after some time, we finally arrived at Jaya the paradise for pirates and began making our way to Mock Town the only urban area in the whole of Jaya.
Jaya... a spring island that was once shaped like a skull and much larger than it is now. It was the homeland of the Shandia 400 years ago. Nowadays, it is known as a lawless zone popular with pirates.
We docked the ship and finally arrived at Mock Town Robin, Mr.5 and Miss. Valentine decided to stay on the ship not finds a reason to come with us. Mr.1 and Miss. Doublefinger said they were going to find more information on this supposed sky island and the Knock Up Stream.
Even though I knew exactly how to reach Skypiea I let them go their way.
Meanwhile me, Nami and Rob Lucci entered The Wild Cherry bar. As we entered all eyes were on us but paying no attention to them we made our way to the bartender.
"Hey do you know a way to sail to the sky island?" -Nami
"I'm sorry to inform you Miss but the sky island isn't real, it's common for a log Pose to malfunction in this area." - Bartender
Ah it seems like the people here are not complete idiots deciding not to laugh at a Warlords subordinate.
"Hahaha hahahaha... what do we have here." A figure said as he made his way towards Nami and who soon was recognized as none other than Bellamy.
[I take my words back.]
Before he could say something else I appeared beside him. After finally registering me he took a couple of steps back but it seems that pride decided to betray him.
"Hahaha I don't care if you're a Warlord we serve directly under Joker and this is our territory so you better run as fast as you can." -Bellamy
Even some of his crew mates remained without words at his stupidity.
"Hmm... I have a better idea." I said as I grabbed him by the neck and began taking the moisture out of his body, leaving him a husk of his former self.
"Bartender we want to know where the Knock Up Stream appears most often." -Crocodile
After he witnessed first hand the murder of another he was distraught but nonetheless he answered and we began heading back to our ship, where we also saw that Mr.1 and Miss. Doublefinger arrived.
"Any luck?" -Crocodile
"No... we met an individual called Cricket but he was mostly talking nonsense." -Miss.Doublefinger
"Hmm... I see, well let's go see the Knock Up Stream." -Crocodile
We had to wait a couple of hours but in the end we began to feel the wind which out of nowhere intensified. I watched the sea and suddenly noticed where a bulge was forming under water, I took the helm and tried to get us as close as we could.
"What are you doing?! You're gonna get us killed." - Nami
"Don't worry, just untie the sails when I tell you." -Crocodile
In a few seconds the Knock Up Stream appeared and it launched our ship along with it. in the first few seconds it seemed like we could ride it but soon gravity began to do its thing and we started falling.
"Now!" -Nami/Crocodile
Rob Lucci and Mr.1 quickly did as told and we no longer were falling but we were carried by the wind, we were flying. When the Knock Up Stream finished we found ourselves into what looked like a river of clouds. We couldn't admire the scenery for long as the ship began trembling when a lobster grabbed the sides of our ship and began swimming on this river.
"Don't, let's see where he takes us." I say to Rob Lucci who was about to go and kill the lobster.
After a fast ride though the cloud river the lobster threw us into another body of clouds, this one more similar to the sea.
" Whoa..." -Nami It was truly beautiful.
"Incredible to think there was an island here all along..." -Robin
In the distance we saw Skypiea and we began sailing through the clouds towards the island.
