Chapter 11: Ch 11 : Vs. Tashigi
Tashigi was startled by Rain's action, but she was still fast enough to catch the sword thrown at her.
She placed the sword in her arm and turned her gaze at Rain, who was hiding behind the mask as if asking what the heck is he doing.
However, what she got was not an answer. Instead, Rain was sheathing the other sword on his arm.
" Swordsman Tashigi, I challenge you to a duel."
" !???? "
The declaration really came out of nowhere, and it made Tashigi get even more confused.
But when she realized the quality of the sword that she held in her hands, the confusion instantly turned into shock.
" Grade swords!!??"
The Grade Swords are blades of high quality, outclassed only by the twelve Supreme Grade Swords, twenty-one Great Grade Swords, and fifty Skillful Grade Swords. The total number of Grade Swords is unknown. They are the lowest classification for a Meito blade. However, despite their lower quality, they still yield far superior attributes and strength than regular blades, such as exceptional resilience and cutting power against sturdy foes.
Tashigi couldn't believe her eyes. The other party just threw the grade swords at her like it was trash. Now she was really curious about the identity behind that mask.
Tashigi's shock was seen by Rain, and a smile rose on his face.
Just for this one occasion, he had to surround almost every part of the Rainbase, searching for the owner of a grade sword and stealing them using Kamui.
This was just the beginning of his plan. He would make Tashigi believe that he was a kind and just person before slowly corrupting her into his minion.
' Hahahahahaha, just wait Tashigi, when you realize it, it will already be too late Hahaha.. *Cough**Cough*..... Okay, let's get serious. Tashigi has been taken by surprise, and now was the time to make a move.'
Rain didn't wait anymore. He saw Tashigi hadn't put her posture and just rush at Tashigi's direction.
Jokes on him, Rain was not a trained swordsman, and it was less than a week since he first held a sword.
The only reason that he was confident enough to challenge Tashigi to a duel was because of his fruit ability, and for that, Rain would utilize everything that he got.
Tashigi was caught off-guard by Rain's movement.
She tried to react, but it was too late.
Rain had already swung his sword, ready to knock Tashigi down.
However, the gap between their experience was clearly displayed here.
Even when he took the initiative, Rain's strike was one of an amateur, and even if Tashigi was late to react, she was still able to somehow block it.

The two swords clashed with each other.
Rain's amateurish strike was blocked by Tashigi, but Rain didn't immediately give up.
Right as Tashigi blocked his first strike, Rain immediately followed up with a rush of sword strike.

The sound of swords clashing with each other filled the whole alleyway. No matter how hard Rain tried, all his attack was blocked by Tashigi's swords.
While in the marine for a few years, Tashigi had developed her skills, and she was far from a normal swordsman. She only looked weak in the anime because her opponent was none other than the second son of the plane, Zoro.
The harder Rain tried, the more flaws he revealed, and in one of those chances, Tashigi eventually tried to knock Rain's sword out of his hand.
Fortunately, Rain was quick to respond as he immediately partially transferred himself, dodging Tashigi's attack with his fruit power.
Tashigi saw her strike miss, but she didn't feel disappointed at all.
Instead, she now looked at Rain with eyes full of confusion.
" Umm... can we stop this? I know you don't mean bad at all, but..."
Yup, Tashigi had discerned that Rain was nothing more than an amateur, but she had a hard time saying it.
She was afraid that saying it so bluntly would hurt Rain's heart.
Rain heard this, and a bad feeling began to rise in his heart. He knew his ploy had been discovered, and now he must make a big move or else he would be capped as a con-artist.
Under this condition, Rain suddenly has an idea.
He looked at Tashigi, this time with the eyed of predators looking at his prey as he dropped all his guard.
" Hahahahahahahahah!"
" Fascinating... you have passed my test. And now, I will get serious.."
This was Rain's last chance. He could only try to act like an expert and use this chance to convince Tashigi.
Tashigi really didn't know what to do at this time. She saw Rain was walking at her, and she raised her sword, trying to maintain a posture to block Rain's strike.
But out of nowhere, Tashigi heard Rain murmur something.
" Breath of the void, Void blade!"
Rain slashed his sword downward like before, which Tashigi immediately tried to block.
The two swords were about to clash with each other, but then something completely unexpected happened.
The moment Tashigi's sword was about to block Rain's, Rain's sword suddenly became transparent, and out of nowhere, Tashigi found that Rain's sword had been placed right in front of her neck.
" I win!"
