It has been three years since I lost my mother and the last thing I remember is that my mother was the user of the infamous Ope Ope no Mi, If I am not wrong my mother had awakened her devil fruit which was believed to be the ultimate devil fruit.
"And my mother's final gift to me should have been the Ope Ope no Mi ultimate ability 'The eternal youth', she granted me eternal youth and also released all my limiters in exchange for her life".
I thought to myself, Now I understood why the World Government was keen on capturing my mother.
I buried my mother nearby a cliff under a plum blossom tree overlooking the sea. It has been three years since her passing and since that day I had a one-track mind of growing stronger.
In these three years, I have become exceptional in the usage of both Busoshoku haki and Kenbunshoku haki and unfortunately, I have not had many opportunities to train my Haoshoku haki.
The books left behind by my parents had immensely helped in this regard. I am currently working on developing my advanced techniques in both the haki and I have come to hit a bottleneck, I have realized that I can't develop much in this regard due to my physique because no matter how strong I would like to grow, sometimes patience is a virtue.
So I redirected most of my attention to swordsmanship and to my surprise I could feel a very strong attachment to Shusui I could hear whispers and later as I grew stronger the connection between us also grew stronger. That is when I realized that I have a very rare talent I could hear the "Voice of all things".
I sat next to her grave and spent the whole morning talking about the things that I have been doing this past year.
" I have already made my decision mother, I will follow my heart as you suggested and I will live my life to the fullest. I will also make sure to fulfil both your dreams and liberate this world".
Suddenly my observation haki picked up two life signs approaching me and halt just behind the tree line. I knew exactly who it was and I had a smile on my face, now that I am a part of this world I will make sure to set things right in this world and I will make sure my absolute best that I would not lose any more people that I cared about and to do that I needed strength.
Knowing that the two little rascals were spying on me I picked Shusui and walked towards the cliff facing the sea. I could pick up their conversation using my observation haki.
"Oye Ace, do you think he knows that we are here? And do you know why he is walking towards the cliff?". Sabo was curious about what I was up to and he questioned his brother-in-arms.
"Sabo shut your stupid mouth, he might hear us, it took us nearly half a year to get so close to him. Do you want to miss him this time too?". Ace gave Sabo a quick smack on the back of his head.
I walked towards the cliff and into the sea so that I could continue my training and maybe tease them a little bit more before I get acquainted with them.
Both Ace and Sabo couldn't believe their eyes, the demon jumped into the sea from the cliff they were sure they would die if they tried the same stunt.
"Ace, quickly jump after him and save him, he hasn't become our friend yet. We can't let him die" Sabo panicked after seeing me jump off the cliff and started yelling at his brother to do something.
"Ah you moron, do you want me to kill myself? I would be long dead before I hit the water. Have you seen how long the drop is? And are you sure the demon is stupid enough to die by throwing himself off a cliff"? Ace couldn't help but roll his eyes after listening to the Sabo.
" Oh now that you mention it you are right, that guy always shows up after a day or two after pulling a stunt like this. Who knows maybe he has gone hunting another Sea king".
Sabo was practically drooling from his mouth when he mentioned the sea king because everyone called the boy a demon who likes to live in seclusion in a distant mountain from the village.
The only people who have any semblance of contact with the demon are the village Mayor, Makino San from the bar and the old hag Dadan.
As per Makino San, the boy is about their age and he sometimes exchanges some items for money or some necessities with the village mayor or at the bar. He would also hunt some giant sea kings and let Makino San share them with the people in the village. As for the old hag she has had a run-in with him quite a few times, her mountain bandits have tried to bully the demon quite many times and every time he beats them to a pulp and delivers them to their doorstep.
And every time this happens Ace and Sabo cannot hold their laughter because these bandits get their asses handed to them by a kid who I supposed to be around the same age. And the old hag never admits it but Ace knew that she was quite grateful towards the demon because he never killed or maimed any of them and it also helps her men build character.
" Quick let's go and wait at Makino sans place I am sure he will be back in a day or two. Maybe if we are lucky we can have him join our gang". Ace was enthusiastic about having the demon kid join their group. Then both he and Sabo started sprinting in the direction of the village to Makino's bar.
In the meantime, I was swimming towards a small island that was just a few kilometres from the village. In the past three years, I have dedicated myself to becoming strong and using the books that my mother had given me I had a very rich knowledge of swordsmanship I had records about sword art for close to a millennium.
I used this information and also some information from my world and created my very own unique sword art which incorporates a breathing technique which is the true pinnacle of its kind, the breathing art that I perfected is much superior compared to the sun breathing style. This world had no restrictions on the physique and I had the advantage of having my limiter removed and more secrets that I could unlock about my body the more I got to understand why the Ope Ope no Mi was called the ultimate devil fruit.
To pay tribute to the original breathing art from the other world I simply chose to call my style Thunder breathing style (Kaminari no kokyu), and instead of being a derivative like in the old world, this new style was a pinnacle of the said breathing forms which includes the breath of the world. I was only able to achieve this due to my unique talent and I am not sure if I can pass on this sword art to others, maybe I can try with the derivatives.
After I swam a few kilometres away from the shore I started diving down and the deeper I went the stronger the pressure from the ocean, I swam downwards until my bones started creaking. I stopped when I felt that the pressure was right and I was here today to perfect my new sword art.
I closed my eyes regulated my breathing and started spreading my kenbunshoku haki as far as my current strength would allow it, I could feel all the movements under the water within my sphere of influence.
After a few moments, I picked up movement right beneath me. It was a sea king about 600 metres in length and it wanted to sneak up on me and gobble me up in one bite.
I held Shusui in my hands and when the sea king was close enough I release my attack, " Ichi no kata: Hekireki Issen". I ripped through the water even before the sea king could react I had severed its head. Before I could turn around to admire my handiwork I picked up two more sea kings on my observation haki approached me rapidly and both sea kings were a bit larger than the previous one. I locked on to one of the sea kings to launch my attack, "Rokuren" I executed my sixfold attack to perfection and the second sea king did not stand a chance. I wanted to carry the momentum forward to perform an Eightfold slash but I staggered before completing the stance and the sea king took the opportunity to lash me with its tail.
"Damn I still need a lot more practice, I still cannot perform an eight-fold attack. I should finish this and get back and meditate on how I can improve further, I feel I am close to a breakthrough and maybe with a little more push I should be able to perform both eight fold attack and the Fifth form "Netsu Kairai"( Heat Lightning)."
It turned my attention towards the last Sea King he lunged towards me and I dodged the attack and drew my sword, "San no Kata: Shubun Seirai"( Thunder Swarm).
I tied all three sea kings to my waist using one of the sea king's whiskers and started swimming towards the village.
It has been a day since Ace and Sabo were waiting for the demon to visit Makino's bar, they were way too impatient and kept annoying Makino every hour about when the demon would come.
" Makino Obaachan when will the demon kid come? We have been waiting at the pub for a whole day now. Don't tell me you lied to us when you said he regularly visits the pub".
Ace wanted to annoy Makino and started calling her aunt which attracted her attention.
"Ace kun it seems like you need to be disciplined. How could you call me an obaachan? I'm hurt, Ace kun is so cruel for making Makino cry" Makino cried fake tears and started wiping her eyes with her sleeves.
Sabo after seeing the way Makino was reacting thought she was hurt and jumped on Ace and started pulling on his hair by screaming and punching " How dare you, Ace, how could you hurt Makino San? Look she is crying I am not going to forgive you for this".
Both boys started punching a kicking each other and Makino couldn't help it anymore and started laughing after looking at the antics of both kids. While the two kids were fighting they failed to notice that the door to the pub opened and the third kid slipped into the bar and approached the counter.
" Hello, nee-san, may I know what's the commotion about?".
I knew what exactly was going on because I had picked it up using my observation haki, but I chose to act oblivious.
Makino turned towards the new source of sound and was surprised because the kid standing next to the counter had made no noise whatsoever while entering the bar, she was always surprised because the kid made no noise while moving he was even quite than a cat.
"Hello, Arthur kun how are you? you haven't been to the bar in almost a week now, have you been busy lately or have you forgotten about this big sister?". Making pouted and made a sad face.
I was embarrassed and I started scratching my head. I didn't know how to respond to the question for the past three years after losing my mother Makino San tried to take care of me, and even though I could take care of myself I loved the care and attention, and sometimes it makes me realize that it is good in this world. Therefore I consider Makino san just like my big sister.
" Ah, how can I forget my beautiful big sister? I was just working hard to make sure I can get enough presents for my beautiful sister". And then I pulled out a wrapped cloth from my pocket and presented it to Makino.
Upon opening it she retrieved a shining rainbow-coloured pearl which was the size of a baby's first. The glitter of the pearl attracted the attention of all the customers in the bar including Ace and Sabo. However, one of the more knowledgeable elders recognized the pearl and shouted.
"It's a rainbow pearl and judging by its colour and clarity the pearl would be valued at a minimum of 10 million berries".
The entire pub was shocked by such an extravagant gift and Makino couldn't reject the gift because the last time she did that the kid did not talk to her until she accepted her gift. And the kid told her that a big sister should not reject the little brother's gift, so Makino has never bothered to reject any more gifts after that.
There were a few bandits who eyed the pearl with greed but one look from Arthur make the bandits sweat. Because the last time someone attempted to steal from Makino was beaten to an inch from his death by the kid and the only reason the bandit survived the onslaught was that Makino intervened. So none in the village ever messed with Makino.
" Ah big sister before I forget, I have left three seakings at the usual spot and I might have gone a bit overboard this time. You might need a few more helping hands this time. I would like to thank you in advance for your help nee-san".
Makino was happy because the kid always tried to help whenever he could and then she turned towards the two troublemakers and couldn't help but sigh.
"Arthur kun is the best he is so well-behaved, he is my favourite".
Makino gave a stink eye towards Ace and Sabo. I couldn't help but laugh because both Ace and Sabo started pouting.
" Okay nee-san I got to go, I will meet you later. Let me know if you need anything when I come around or you can send one of these brats they will know where to find me". I started walking towards the entrance of the bar and maybe this was when it precisely struck their mind that they were waiting for me since yesterday and started following me out of the pub.
After following me for about five minutes when we were sufficiently away from the village Ace stepped forward while holding a steel pipe and shouted.
" Oye, demon boy fight me, I am going to knock your ass down to the ground and prove to Makino San that I am better than you".
I had a smirk on my face when I heard Ace say that and I grabbed a scarf from my bag and blindfolded myself and turned towards Ace.
" Well, what are you waiting for would you like an invitation?".
