Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Putting Down A Rabid Dog
(3rd Person: POV)
*Clank Clank Clank*
Ringing out through the air clanging sounds echoed across the deck of the marine ship as Achilles and Doberman clashed blow for blow. Spear against sword.
The former sporting a savage grin on his face, while the latter was visibility irritated.
Doberman had assumed defeating the young spear-wielding pirate in front of him would only take a few seconds at most. But he was quickly proved wrong as Achilles held his own against him.
Thought what irritated the marine commander the most was the grin Achilles was wearing on his face.
"Damn pirate. Just you wait, soon you won't be grinning at all." Doberman snarled. "For I shall deliver justice onto you."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say doggy." Achilles replied.
Using the the shaft of Lonkhe to block a sword slash aimed at his chest by Doberman.
While those two clashed the rest of the marines aboard the vessel went after the rest of the Argonaut pirates, or at least tried too.
Firing off arrow after arrow Atalanta sniped the marines aboard the deck of the marine vessel who carried rifles or pistols.
Several of them returning fire at her when they learned where she was sniping them from. But none of the marines shots even came close to hitting the humink archer.
This brought a smile to her face.
Dodging a slash aimed at his left side Kuroh used his katana and slashed the marine who just tried to attack him right down the middle of his chest.
This in turn caused said marine to fall to his knees and cough up a large amount of blood onto the deck.
"Pirate scum, die!"
A different marine yelled, charging at Kuroh with his sword pointed straight at him. Specifically toward his gut.
Deciding not to follow the charging marines lead Kuroh took his sword in both hands and rushed forward, slicing the marine in the neck with the tip of his blade as he past him.
"Gurr!"
Emitting a gurgling sound the marine who charged at Kuroh dropped his weapon and then moved both of his hands to his neck to try and stop the blood that was gushing out of the wound that had just been created on it.
A task he was failing at.
Hard.
"Dammit!" A marine cried in rage.
"Let's all take him together."
"Yeah! For justice!"
"For justice!" Several marines cried.
They then all charged in Kuroh's direction at once, their blades at the ready.
Despite this Kuroh stayed calm.
Quickly inhaling and then exhaling Kuroh raised up his blade and then rushed forward towards the marines charging in his direction.
As he got closer and closer to them Kuroh suddenly leapt up in the air and sailed above their heads. Landing behind the marines charging at him with ease.
The moment he did so Kuroh turned around and cut down two of the marines that had decided to gang up on him. But before he could cut down the others they turned around and turned their blades on him.
Dodging a slash aimed at his left side Kuroh used his katana to cut open the gut of the marine who tried it.
He then quickly shifted his body weight to avoid getting stabbed by two more marines who were aiming to take his life.
In between two of the enemies blades Kuroh brought up his own and quickly cut them both down.
Realizing the hellish training Achilles had started putting him, Wave, and Atalanta through ever since they set sail from his and Waves hometown Craft Island a month ago was finally paying off.
Otherwise Kuroh might've thought Achilles put them through all that work simply because he was some sort of sadist.
Though Kuroh dismissed that idea, since Achilles participated in the hellish training he assigned them right along with them. Hell Kuroh is sure Achilles trains more than the rest of the crew.
So yeah, he's got no complaints about the training regimen.
The enemies in front of him dealt with Kuroh moved on.
Seeing his soldiers cut down one after another Doberman's anger only grew.
But not because his men were losing their lives. No, it was because none of them had managed to kill a single one of Achilles crewmembers or board their ship.
"Useless! And they call themselves marines!" Doberman shouted.
"That's rich coming from you." Achilles spoke. "Tell me doggy, how many of your fellow marines and innocent civilians did you sacrifice to get that fancy coat of yours?" He asked. "Or are the marines just giving them away to any psychopath who will kill for them so long as they say they are carrying out justice? Actually don't answer. Since I already know what you're going to say and I really don't want to hear it."
Veins began bulging on Dobermans' head at Achilles words. "Pirate scum! How dare you disrespect justice like that!" He shouted.
Doberman then used Soru to get behind Achilles and began swinging down his sword to slash him across the back.
Though before Doberman's attack could connect Achilles used Soru himself to avoid it.
Stunning Doberman.
'What? Impossible! How does a pirate scum know the Rokushiki?!' Doberman thought to himself.
While he did Achilles appeared behind him and stabbed Lonkhe in the direction of Doberman's gut.
But before the attack could connect Doberman twisted his body and brought his blade up to block the attack.
Though it was only partially successful.
Doberman knocked Achilles attack off course, which caused the blade of Lonkhe to cut his right shoulder and create a sizeable gash on it.
Blood hit the ground from the newly create wound, but Doberman paid it no mind.
Instead he aimed at powerful punch right at Achilles gut.
Realizing he had no time to dodge Achilles quickly employed Tekkai.
This in turn mitigated much of the damage from Doberman's punch.
But not all of it.
Feeling a small shaking across his entire body Achilles slightly winced. But otherwise held his ground.
Pulling Lonkhe back he went to slash Doberman from several angles using the bladed tip of his spear.
Using his cutlass blade Doberman blocked each and every one of Achilles attacks.
Though as seconds passed and the battle raged on Doberman stumbled for a moment, due to the gash Achilles managed to create on his right shoulder.
Seeing this Achilles didn't waste the chance that had just presented itself.
Quickly pulling back Lonkhe Achilles thrust it forward, putting his full body weight behind the attack, and managed to pierce Doberman right through his gut.
Blood flew everywhere and splattered onto the deck as the wound was created.
Despite this Doberman was not about to give up.
He moved to slash Achilles with his cutlass blade.
Though before he could Achilles kicked unleashed a powerful kick right between Doberman's legs, smashing his balls to bits.
Since Achilles is a pirate, and if it will help him stay alive and achieve victory he doesn't mind using such tactics.
"Hiii!!!" Doberman whined.
As he did Achilles removed Lonkhe from his gut, and then stabbed Doberman in the chest once more. That attack being the killing blow.
Seeing the light completely fade from Doberman's eyes Achilles pulled Lonkhe free from his corpse and then twirled it several times to throw off the blood and guts his spear had gained during the battle with the now dead 'Absolute Justice' marine.
Stopping the spinning of his spear Achilles turned his attention back to the rest of the marine vessel, and got ready to help in dealing with any enemies that remained.
But there was no need for Achilles to do so, since his crew had taken care of the rest of Doberman's marines.
Working to catch his breath Kuroh sheathed his katana.
As he did Achilles walked over to him. "Thanks for covering me."
"Of course. I am part of the crew and you are the captain. Besides, I know you would do the same thing for me." Kuroh said.
"That I would." Achilles answered without any hesitation.
Once he did so the two quickly regrouped with Wave and Atalanta on the Argo.
After they did so Wave and Achilles returned to the marine vessel to search it for any valuables. While Atalanta and Kuroh remained behind on their ship to rest and recover, as well as keep an eye out for any more marines that might happen upon them.
That is something Achilles and the others didnt want.
Which is why Achilles and Wave moved quickly and deliberately during their search of the marine vessel.
In doing so they found some gold, some berri, several maps of the North Blue, and even some food.
Overall the search Achilles and Wave was performing on the marine vessel was moving along rather quickly.
That is until they entered a room and found a prisoner inside of it.
A woman chained up, her restraints embedded into the wall of the room itself.
The woman in questioned looked to be around Waves and Achilles own age with dark-brown hair, a lithe body frame, and had tattoos along her face and arms.

'Seriously, what are the chances of me encountering such a situation twice?' Achilles thought.
Recalling how he and Atalanta had met not too long ago.
Looking at Wave and Achilles after they entered the room the woman could only smirk. "My, I've never seen marines quite like you two. So, did you come here to kill me?"
"No, and we're not marines." Achilles quickly explained. "We're pirates, just like you. If you are a pirate that is."
"I am." The woman replied. "So how about you help a fellow pirate out and free me from these chains?" The woman asked.
Achilles looked at her for several long seconds before making his decision regarding her request.
"Sure." Achilles replied. "Wave, go and search for the keys to her chains."
"Right." Wave replied.
He then rushed off to do as Achilles asked, even though he didn't agree with it. But he trusted Achilles as his captain and as his friend so he still went along with his request.
Hoping Achilles wasn't making a big mistake.
In no time at all Wave returned with several sets of keys.
He then moved closer to the woman and began trying each of them in the locks of her chains. Achilles gazed focused the woman as Wave tried to free her from his restraints.
Namely so he could kill her in an instant if he needed to.
For although he agreed to free her it didn't mean he trusted her in the slightest.
Though he felt she wasn't going to stab them in the back he wasn't sure, and that's why he was on his guard.
Eventually Wave found the right key for the locks.
Once he did so he freed the woman from her chains and then backed away.
After he did so she stood up to her feet and stretched her body. "Ah thank you, that's much better." She spoke.
"Right." Achilles replied. "Now come forward, slowly." He told me.
"Ah, you don't trust me. Completely understandable. If I was in your situation I wouldn't trust me either." The woman spoke. "Still, thank you for the assistance. Also my name is Illaoi. And may I know yours gentleman?"
"Achilles." Achilles spoke.
"Wave." Wave spoke.
"Nice to meet you then Achilles and Wave." Illaoi said.
She then started walking forward slowly.
As Illaoi did Achilles and Wave backed out of the room, keeping her in front of them and at least a foot of space between her and them at all times.
Once out of the room the trio headed up to the deck.
Though the moment they arrived all three of them noticed a rather large and dangerous looking ship sailing right in their direction, bearing a pirate flag at that.

"Who the hell is that?!" Wave shouted. Both impressed and terrified by the pirate ship sailing towards their location.
"Ah, that would be my ride." Illaoi spoke.
Making Achilles want to slam his head repeatedly into something hard like the deck of the ship.
Since it looks right after finishing a tough battle he and his crew were about to engage in another one.
Just their luck.
