Chapter 2: Resurrection?!
I felt a weird sensation, I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be dead. Yet, there isn't any heaven or afterlife since it's pitch black. Suddenly a ray of light passed by, pulling me towards it.
"ugh!"
Gasping for air, I felt like my heart just got pulled out of me. My entire body is sore and my clothes were all sliced with bloodstains but... there's not a single injury... what happened? Right as I asked that question, a weird text popped up in front of me with a sound that is similar to a bell. I tried reaching to it and touch it but my hand went straight through the thing as if it wasn't there. It was still night so it was dark but the text box was shining and really bright. After looking closely I read the text.
[User has met requirements]
[Welcome User 'Ryle']
[You have malice in your heart and have a clear goal.]
[I shall assist you, in order to attain your goal]
"Wha-what is this?"
Then suddenly the text changed again.
[I am a system designed to help the user achieve or attain their goal in the most productive and efficient way possible]
"My goal? I don't necessarily have a goal though..."
Right at this moment, I noticed my father's corpse right next to me, I realized what the weird 'system' was telling me.
"Is my goal to kill pirates?"
[Yes! Well, your final goal is to remove pirates and other evil from the world in order to allow innocent people to live in peace. However, this is a good start which is to kill some pirates]
"oh... okay, then how do I do that?"
Although I am feeling the pain and sadness of losing literally everything, I can't seem to shed any tears as this thing in front of me is speaking in quite an optimistic tone. So I could only frown and listen to what it tells me.

[Issuing Tutorial Mission]: Train the Body (Time limit 8 months) *7m 30d 48s*
"Train the body? hm, I understand that but why the time limit?"
[It is in order for you to have enough time to apply for marine training and enter the marines to fulfill your goal. This mission was issued also to improve your stats, giving you a good enough starting point before you go out and get yourself killed]
"Stats? Killed?"
This system is a bit ruthless, but I kind of understand what he's saying. The marine applications are due in roughly 9 months so it makes sense, and currently, I have 0 training/experience. Getting myself killed isn't an exaggeration.
[Indeed, currently, you are very very weak and would be killed by literally any pirate. As for your other question, stats are your body's basic statistics which can be enhanced and improved if the User does the proper training for it. An average human being has an average stat of 10, do you wish to see your stats?]
"Yes please."
Again, this thing is way too ruthless. Well, at least it won't make me do something that will get me killed, if anything this is better than getting one that will let me run off in my current self and just die. I don't necessarily want to experience death again.

This is very overwhelming and I seriously am confused about the whole situation but if this can help me bring peace to this world and remove pirates then I'm fine with dirtying my hands.
[Sure! Let us start off with the stats. Like I've already explained these are the statistics of your body, they are there for you to see your progress and decide where to improve on in the future]
[Next, we have skills. You may learn skills through diligent training and hard work, which will improve the mastery of the skill. Another option is to purchase skills through points, however, when you purchase a skill through points, it requires more work and energy to improve since you are learning it all at once.]
[Threat level is how dangerous you are to people. It may increase or decrease depending on who you are confronting or fighting which may be useful to figure out whether your opponent is stronger or not]
[Affiliation is what you do or what you are. Depending on that you may find an easier time interacting with certain people or a harder time.]
[Points are as said used to purchase skills in the skill shop or items in the item shop. Points are earned through your goal, which is to remove evil and pirates from this world, so doing a good deed or killing a pirate will gain you points]
"Woah... that's really good to know..."
There's so much to this. I can improve my strength like this right? This way I can obtain my so-called 'goal'. However, I'd like to try not to rely on this system too much. It didn't explain its origin nor why it's here. But I'm thankful for its help.

After looking at the weird screen, I then turn my head to look at my surroundings again. I was so absorbed in the system that the sun began to rise already, and with that, I saw all the blood and corpses around me. I continued looking around until I finally landed on my father. I then kneeled next to him and began pledging.
"I promise you, father. There will be a day that I will go see you and meet my mother, but until then I will save this world from the evil within it. "
I once again bowed and stood up. I looked towards the shore and see marine fleets coming towards the island, there stood a man with tan skin and a thin beard. He was wearing a cape with the words 'Rear Admiral'. Now my journey begins.
