Chapter 1: Chapter 1
• The Beginning
{ Third POV }
It is May 15th, 2021 in the morning.
There is a massive countryside located right near the massive forest far away the populated areas. In the center were a huge villa that has many people inside.
One thing that stood out in the countryside is a tall tower that has a clock in it. Suddenly, it rings abruptly and reverberated throughout the residence prompting many individuals to wake up and start their morning shift.
While this is happening, inside the villa is a beautiful and neatly living room with a Television atop the wall, there is elderly man slouching on the couch sleeping with his eyes closed as he cross his arms.
He is built like a giant with a well-defined body with muscles in the right places, muscular arms, and has few wrinkles on his face, mainly around the eyes.
What stood out is his great facial hair which was his goatee connected with his moustache and his glimmering hazel brown eyes along with his tan skin.
Of course now that he is an old man, he had shaved his remaining hairs as he didn't want to look ridiculous like the other elderly people.
Despite being bald, the elderly man still looked intimidating and gave the vibe like he wasn't the type of person to mess with.
All of sudden, a telephone is ringing and it caused the elderly man to open his left eye lazily as he then raised his hands up over to reach toward the desk that has a telephone phone which seems oddly weird in this modern age.
"What is it?" questioned the elderly man with curiosity hidden in his tone as he didn't understand why he been interrupted when he was resting.
Nevertheless, the old man trusted his servant had a good reason for the interruption otherwise there'll be consequences for it.
"My apologies for the interruption, my Lord. I just had a call by unknown stranger which normally I would cut off as it might be a prank call but this person claimed to know you and that he had something that will benefit you. Should I cut him off or connect him to you right now?"
"Sebastian, please do not tell me that this is why you interrupted my rest. This is unlike you so what is going on?"
"My Lord, t-this person knows about my grand-daughter and her current location. I c-can't risk putting my family in danger by assuming this was a prank call and all this person have asked me to do was a chance to talk to you."
Frowning once again, he immediately didn't have a good impression of the man or woman he was about to talk to.
The man has no judgment of anyone that uses people's weak-link, especially their family as he himself used this method many times before.
But he didn't like it when it is used on him.
Nevertheless, he will talk to this person but if this person plans to ask for an absurd amount of money, power, and so on, then he wouldn't mind letting him kill off his subordinate's family.
'However, I would get them for it!'
The master then instructed Sebastian to connect him to this individual and told him that it would be taken care of and his family will be safe.
Sebastian stammered many times as he thank him and quickly connected the elderly man to an unknown person.
"You are very bold, I'll tell you that. How dare you scare my subordinate with your baseless threat."
"~I know I am. However, the threat was very real, I'll tell you that. Now I don't have much time to spare since today is a very busy for me but luckily for you.~"
The voice sounds spooky and unsettling, it did not give any hints of whether it is a man or woman, especially when it gave playful vibes.
The old man sat up with his back straight as he faced straight with the telephone next to his right ear.
"~I have chose you to participate in a game and while you have the permission to turn down the offer, I promise with all my heart that you will regret this if you reject.
However, do not think you are special because you are not the only one that have been selected for this particular offer. You will understand everything once you travel to my humble abode~"
He was incredibly tired and his sleep was stopped because of this idiotic charade. After all, it was still morning and so excuse him for being angry but he still held back his anger and questioned this stranger one last time.
"Get to the point. What is this 'particular offer'?"
"~Ohhh silly me, that is my bad. Well, the offer is that you will be given a chance to reincarnate in another world with a completely different body and in return, you have to complete one mission in that world.
By the way, this world is practically supernatural. Awesome, right?
Of course, if you refuse this offer then I will just wipe both your and your subordinate's memories of this event.
What a pity, right? So Yes or No.~"
The elderly man just slouched back on his couch as he let out his breath and tapped his thigh with his finger with pondering face.
'What is going on? There is no way this offer is actually true. Not to mention the whole thing happening right now is actually ridiculous but j-just what if?
I mean I'm getting old! If it's fake, it's no big deal. I'll just admit I'm an idiot. After all, this is too good an offer. So..'
"I accept this offer," declared the man as he closed his eyes and clenched his hands tight.
"~Oh ho, I am pleased to hear that. Out of all the people that have been selected, you are the eighteenth person to accept my attractive offer.
Though, there will be more to come. Good decision, mate!
By the way, make sure you're isolated in your room in exactly 5 hours as there will be a bright light and it will destroy anyone that have not been selected.
You don't want your poor subordinates to die when you leave this world, do you?~"
Before the man could respond, the telephone disconnected causing him to grind his teeth and bang the telephone down. He stood up as he walk back and forth musing whether this anonymous fellow is telling the truth or is just taking the mick.
After a while, he didn't get any answer to his question in his mind and so he gave up as he head toward his room.
On the way, he came across with one of his butlers that have a lean body, with muscular arms with tattoos on his hand and neck with his braided head.
"Andre, it is good to see you. I need you to accomplish something as soon as possible and it's actually very simple.
In five hours, inform everyone including you to not come nearby my room. I will be staying there. Understood?"
The butler, Andre, understood and bowed down respectfully. He admire his master massively since the old man was one of the strongest people in the past.
"Understood, sir. Do you need anything now?"
"Nah, I'm good. Go and inform everyone."
