Chapter 1: Rebirth

"Speech"

'Thoughts'

"Ughh, Where am I?" I found myself floating in some dark void, surrounded by an eerie silence that seemed to amplify my growing sense of confusion and panic. 'How did I get here!? I was driving back home just a second ago!' My mind raced with questions, trying to grasp a way to get out of this place.

As anxiety coursed through me, then a sudden light emerged—a bright blue box materialized before me, radiating an otherworldly hue in the otherwise dim surroundings. Text materialized on its surface, almost as if it was tempting me to approach. Startled yet drawn by the unexpected appearance, I cautiously moved closer.

A disembodied voice, sounding like an Ai, cut through the silence. "Congratulations, your life has been chosen for the reincarnation program." The words echoed in the void. The shock of the situation seemed to momentarily halt my racing thoughts. The voice continued, breaking the eerie silence once more, "Press the screen for more information on how to proceed!"

"Reincarnation!" A shiver ran down my spine as I grasped the implication. 'I've seen enough stories to know that means I died. I suppose that explains my current location.' The weight of this revelation settled heavily upon me, leaving me grappling with the harsh reality of my situation. 'I wonder how my family is going to take this.' The thought of their grief and the fact that I was unable to say goodbye cast a lingering shadow over my consciousness.

An unknown period of time passed while I grappled with the acceptance that I would never see my family again. Memories flooded in—a laugh, a touch, the warmth of home—all now part of a distant past. 'They would want me to continue.' Summoning a resolve I didn't know I had, I gathered myself.

Bringing myself back to the present, I hesitantly clicked on the screen, compelled by the future that lay ahead. "You, lucky soul, have been chosen to reincarnate into a random world. Press the green button, and a world shall be chosen." The stark command on the screen left me with no other option. With a mixture of trepidation and resignation, I pressed the button.

It emitted a cacophony of strange noises before ending in a resounding ding. "The World selected: 'One Punch Man.'" Disbelief flooded through me. 'What, no! I don't want to go there! I have no chance of surviving those crazy monster attacks!' Panic surged within as the implications of this world began to sink in, painting a picture of extreme danger and hopelessness.

The AI voice interrupted my thoughts. "Now that your world has been chosen, it is time for you to gain your powers." 'Powers? Do I get some sort of cheat?' It spoke again, presenting a new page of text. "You will gain the powers and memories of a random character." Another button materialized in front of me. 'Could I possibly acquire the powers of someone like Goku? Are these characters limited to anime?' I fervently hoped for someone powerful.

Crossing my fingers, I pressed the button. The room filled with strange noises that eventually ceased. The voice chimed in once more, "Congrats, You have obtained Kizaru from One Piece." 'Admiral Kizaru,' I pondered, 'That is actually a pretty good roll.' Considering his logia powers and haki abilities, a sense of relief washed over me. 'His powers will be enough to survive the dangers of the One Punch world.'With these powers, I could rise to the status of an S-rank hero. I still need to be on my toes, with people like Garou and Boros. My safety is not guaranteed'

The blue text altered its message once more. "Now that your character has been chosen, it is time to embark on your journey. Good luck." Panic surged within me as my vision began to blur, and I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness. I screamed, a desperate plea echoing into the unknown as darkness enveloped my senses.

I woke up in a sweat.'Was that all a dream?' Before I could grasp my surroundings, the blue text appeared once again. "To commemorate your new life, Please accept this starting gift" A black suitcase materialized on the bed. "This system wishes you the best of luck" With that the text disappears.

This really is happening. In an instant, I grasped onto fragments of a past that wasn't mine—a life that now merged with my own. 'My name is Asahi, 20 years old, no immediate family, residing in Z City.' The jarring truth followed swiftly: 'The original Asahi died from an intentional drug overdose, a suicide.'

Filled with determination, I solemnly vowed, "Asahi, you may not have desired this life, but I pledge to honor your name." Rising from the bed in the unfamiliar hotel room, A glance in the bathroom mirror offered the first glimpse of Asahi's body. He bore average features, brown eyes, and spiky black hair, standing at a height of 5 feet 9 inches.

Heading back into the room I decided to open the black suitcase. With a soft click, the case yielded, revealing its contents. Within, a vibrant yellow suit perfectly tailored to my size seized my attention. 'This is the same suit Kizaru wears,' I observed, setting it aside.

Digging deeper unearthed a marine justice coat, and nestled within lay a black credit card, Yet, it was the final object that stopped my breath—a devil fruit, specifically the glint glint fruit. Here lay my ticket to potentially becoming a hero. I gingerly picked up the fruit, hesitating for a moment before taking a small bite.

"Bleh!" The renowned taste assaulted my senses, a harsh bitterness that lingered on my palate. It was undeniably the most unpleasant taste I had ever experienced, Once again my mind was bombarded with new information. Memories and experiences flooded my mind, intertwined with Kizaru's essence. Yet, something felt awry—this wasn't the Admiral Kizaru I was familiar with.

I found myself possessing the memories of Fleet Admiral Kizaru, a character from an alternate universe where his convictions aligned with moral justice, culminating in his rise to Fleet Admiral status. Astonishingly, this version of Kizaru had honed his haki skills and even wielded Conqueror's haki. I stood there, utterly dumbfounded. This revelation was the furthest thing from my expectations.

My body changed as the power assimilated with my body. I felt as light as a feather together with a strength that could crush mountains. Experimenting with my newfound abilities, I focused on invoking my light powers. Concentrating intently, my hand radiated a radiant golden hue, transforming into pure light itself. "Ha, well this is going better than expected"

'Now since that is settled, what should I do now?' Thinking to myself I realize I should probably check what is on my credit card. Luckily, Asahi had a phone. Ringing up the number, I am told of the balance.

"WHAT!"

'This credit card is stacked'. Currently the balance is ¥150,000,000. 'That's like 1 million U.S dollars!' Contemplating the options of housing. A thought hits me 'Why don't I live in the same apartment complex as Saitama? It is probably the safest place on this planet and I could hopefully befriend him.' With a plan set, I leave the hotel.

————————

In the desolate depths of an abyss, where time seemed to stand still and the darkness held dominion, a being lay in patient repose. Their eternal presence is a constant this timeless void, an existence tethered to solitude and contemplation.

Yet, amid the perpetual stillness, a flicker of movement caught the being's attention. Asahi, an unexpected presence, materialized within this ethereal realm. Something that was deemed impossible.

(??? POV)

Pondering the unexpected intrusion, I contemplated, 'How did this come to pass? I didn't summon any mortal to this realm. I should simply return them.' However, to my surprise, my powers remained ineffective against the intruder. A formidable shield, created with divine essence, enveloped the human, rendering them impervious to my attempts at sending them back.

Intrigued by this unforeseen turn of events, I continued probing the divine shield, marveling at its impenetrability. As I delved deeper into the peculiar phenomenon, a presence, long absent from my domain enters and is closing the distance.

"Why is She here?" I mused aloud, sensing the ethereal arrival draw closer with each passing moment. The presence grew more palpable, eventually manifesting as a luminous ball of light suspended before me. Her arrival coupled with the unyielding shield protecting the mortal, displayed a obvious connection between the two.

Within the boundless expanse of the abyss, the celestial tension escalated as the luminous ball of light expanded, revealing the radiant form of a goddess. Her presence, bathed in ethereal luminescence, held an air of serene authority that resonated throughout the cosmos.

"I sense your power over this human, Care to explain why you have entered my domain?" She explained. "This mortal, Asahi, has been chosen as my champion, destined for a purpose yet to unfold." This was out of place from her. "What purpose do you have for my world?" I asked with growing anger at this intrusion.

"Brother, there is more at play here than you perceive. The threads of fate intertwine, weaving a destiny yet unseen. This mortal's presence may hold significance beyond our comprehension. I did not choose this mortal but rather he was chosen for me" The implications of such a statement worried me.

"Do you mean that "They" are involved?" I asked with concern. "Yes," She said with a stern expression. Falling back into contemplation. "What were your instructions?" I asked, "To give him some of my power and to send him to your domain" None of this makes sense. 'What about that mortal is so special that "They" had to step in' It seems I have no other choice.

"Brother, I am just as perplexed as you but his fate has been decided" I consider the ramifications of his existence. "Yes, you are right, all we can do is watch. Send him into the planet" She sends the mortal out of this realm and leaves my domain to be alone with my thoughts.

"Asahi, Who are you?"
