Chapter 4: The Memories
As soon as Saitama moved his fist forward, countless shockwaves emerged out of thin air. Upon collision, the shockwaves grew even more humungous.
Witnessing such destruction caused by a simple movement, Magneton was shocked beyond words. He had never seen such power in his five hundred years of reign.
His colossal body resigned, his eyes dilated beyond what was humanly possible, and he shook with overwhelming fear of death.
Nevertheless, he managed to smile and let out a faint chuckle. "Nothing will surprise me more in the afterlife."
At that instant, tears started to flow from his eyes. "Mom, I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused. Please forgive me..."
Flashbacks of his life started to appear before him.
Magneton was ten years old and was playing games locked up in his room.
A pretty lady in her thirties yelled. "Son, come down, or I'll hand you the extended list of chores."
The lady had silky white hair and blue eyes that looked as beautiful as a waterfall.
Magneton shouted back. "Mom, I've got my things to do, and since you won't buy me a Playbation 9X, I will stay holed up in my room today."
She smacked her forehead and sighed. "What will become of this boy!"
BWOOSH!
The shockwaves hit Magneton, causing him to cough up blood. The punch also began to close the gap, covering half of the distance.
Magneton returned to another flashback.
He stood near his room's window with a rope tied to it.
Looking back at the room's door, he snored. "Mom doesn't allow me to do anything, but today, I have to get those free games."
He swiftly used the rope to slide down and fled in an unfamiliar direction. "I hope the strangers won't scam me."
BWAM!
Another set of disastrous shockwaves cut his arms off. The punch reached the tip of his nose, shattering it before making contact.
At this instant, One of the most cruel flashbacks popped up in his mind.
Magneton was lying on the floor, helpless, eyes full of tears and his body covered in blood stains. His mom was at the door, where two muscular men held her wrists tightly.
The guy on the left spoke aloud. "We got a guinea pig and a super beautiful widow lady."
The guy on the right stared at the lady and licked his lips. "Your husband was in great debt of ours, so you might as well fulfill that while you'll be at our base."
A nonstop stream of tears flowed through Magenton's eyes as he saw his mother struggling. "N-No... N-Not m-my m-mother. I-I'll kill you!"
"Oho, our guinea pig knows how to speak," The guy on the left laughed while closing the gap between him and Magneton. "You might need to be a little more disciplined."
BOOSH!
Returning from the flashback, he fixed his gaze on the fist that was about to obliterate him.
He gave a slight chuckle. "Your life indeed pops up before you when you die."
BOOOOOOOM!
BWASHHH!
BOOOOM!
The barrage of punches obliterated every shred of Magneton. In fact, it was so powerful that it made a hole in space, a giant white hole. Its shockwaves were so massive that the entire void began to shake violently.
Everything in the surroundings evaporated in an instant. Even light that is supposed to be omnipotent and invincible was nowhere to be seen. Everything became completely dark.
Several minutes later, Saitama sneezed, making an escape path for the light which had been safe under the immense smoke.
Saitama was huffing while taking support from his knees. For the first time in several months, he was sweating buckets. "What should I do now?"
He glanced around, only to find out that he was no longer stuck in the space but in a white place.
Standing naked, he gaped. "Why is everyone trying to kidnap me? Besides, give me some clothes first, kidnapper."
"..."
After waiting for a few moments, he started to stomp and growl. "You dare to play tricks on me?"
Suddenly, the part where he stomped crumbled into pieces.
"Oh!" Saitama swiftly looked down. "I accidentally broke your place-"
Within a moment, the part under his other leg also fell apart, and Saitama began to fall downwards.
He filled his cheeks with air and pinched his nostrils shut. "I can't breathe!"
He continued falling for several minutes. Suddenly, he came across Magneton's head, which was also flying downwards.
"Hoh!" Saitama gaped. "I'm surprised you survived those punches."
Magneton was still alive, although his body was rendered useless. He slowly shifted his gaze towards Saitama.
"Yes," Magneton spoke slowly. "Thank you for providing me fun and ending my miserable life."
Saitama smiled and replied. "Rest in peace, Magneton."
Even though Magneton couldn't show it, he smiled. "You finally got my name right."
In addition, he whispered. "I hope you had some fun too."
Saitama nodded and stated. "You were pretty strong."
Despite being in bad shape, Magneton laughed. "Like hell I was."
He then added. "You are the only strong one here. I was no better than a mere fly to you."
Saitama averted his gaze downwards. "Do you know where we are going?"
Magneton slowly looked around and coughed some blood. "I don't think I have much time left."
He continued, "From what my knowledge states, we are probably going to end on my home planet, Kerbes."
Saitama shook his head and asked. "Kerbes?"
Magneton looked down and replied. "It is a beautiful place, comparable to Earth."
"Oh!" Saitama exclaimed.
Suddenly, tears started to flow out from Magneton's eyes, which Saitama took notice of.
"Remembered some bad memories?" Saitama questioned.
"Find the base of Arplesis," Magneton stated. "There would be a portal that would direct you to Earth."
Before Saitama could give a reply, Magneton added. "I did destroy your whole solar system, but it was from one spacetime."
Looking confused and clueless, Saitama replied with a poker face. "Oh, Okay."
Magneton quickly understood the situation and sighed. "You'll come to know about it once you encounter the portal."
Saitama nodded and fixed his gaze downwards.
