Chapter 5: Saving the Elves
[Orcs ambush camp]
[a minute after Rex killed the first Orc scout ]
the Orc leader is spooked by the smell of fresh blood in the air and its Orcish one, and his wolf's battle and mount pet are suddenly alarmed, and move next to him spooked and frightened.
Orc leader shouts:" WE ARE UNDER ATTACK" his voice alarms all the other Orcs who heard and all pick up their weapons and start grouping up to face the attacker
Orc leader: ' what is going on why is there an enemy so close to camp what happened to the scouts and why is Iron fang {his pet name} so spooked and frightened'
"ahhhhh" " it's a beast we are....." "ahhhh"
Orc leader looking around towards the voice location he can only see two Ocs cleaved into two:" beast, what beast, where?" while he and his soldiers look around them
"ahhh" another dying scream was heard from another part of the camp
[ with Rex]
Rex was taking out the guards left behind to watch over the prisoners. the 15 elves were in five locations around the camp each with two guards, and the other 44 Orcs were at the center of the camp with the leader.
Rex can see and smell that there were hunting dogs and a low-level wolf in the camp. but nothing [Apex predator aura] can't handle and keep them frozen in fear to do anything.
now I was taking care of the last two guards and I can see the elves don't fear me for some reason unlike the Orcs, I wonder why
[POV Salah]
flying high in the sky away from the Orcs sight and noses, I watch over Rex in case something happens and it is doing a good job following my instructions without me having to micro-manage its every move.
and this also proves the intelligence of max-level pets especially the magical ones as I was thought during the training.
[3rd Pov]
Rex has just killed the last prisoners' guards and the Orc Leader is screaming at all the hunting dogs and his pet to attack Rex but all of the animals are frozen in place shaking and his wolf keeps pulling him towards him to ride and run.
and that is making him more angry and afraid on the inside but failure is not an option their lord has no mercy and if they run and return without the Seer's daughter they are going to wish for the release of death.
O.L :{short for Orc leader I will be using it for the rest of this encounter}
O.L: ' whatever is attacking is not attacking the elves, it must be a pet beast of the attacker, so the only option is to head for the elves it will force the attacker out to protect them '
O.L: " HOLD RANKS YOU MAGGOTS, AND ADVANCE TOWARDS THE PENSIONERS IT'S SAVING THEM SO TAKE THEM HOSTAGES MOVE"
Rex hearing this is forced to change its strategy into frontal assault.
so as the orcs take a couple of steps toward the elves Rex cuts their advance by standing between the two and for both the Orcs and elves they can clearly see who their attacker/saver are.
depending on which one is looking.
the Orcs are overwhelmed with dread as their instinct is screaming danger as they see Rex.
O.L getting some of his bearings:" WAKE UP YOU COWARDS FAILER IS NOT AN OPTIONS OR DID YOU FORGET WHAT OUR LORD DOES, ATTACK TO EITHER IT DIES OR US" and with a battle cry they charge Rex
in orcish culture, Lords differ but most ruled with absolute fear and punishments that made one wish for death to escape and with culture despising weakness as the biggest sine there and the warrior death being the greatest honor.
there is hardly anything short of their lord dying in battle for them to retreat and if there was a higher command they won't even retreat then.
Rex, of course, wasn't afraid being maxed level means it fought with Salah even if it was in the game its memories are real and they fought mightier, bigger, more numbers before.
Rex charges them as they are advance towards him to not let them surround him and not to get them closer to the elves and he starts rounding them attacking any that attempted to expand the formation in any side with speed so fast that it looked like it disappeared and reappeared.
and the battle cries of the orcs were drowned with their death cries.
[Elves Pov]
after the first orcs guards died
??:' Help is here, I told him his time was numbered, some of the ones that we sent to warn the lady and call for aid must have escaped his wolf and hunting dogs' or that is what he thought as he believed that Rex was Lady Ausra's White saber tooth tiger.
but as time passed the attack tactics wasn't how our lady fought and when Rex showed up he was puzzled at who is it, this saber-tooth tiger belonged to as the saber tooth tiger was the mark of their kingdom and this one was in color never found in their forest and it was from what he can see as strong as his lady's companion.
while the elves watched as the orcs were cleaved left and right by the rare saber tooth tiger they saw a magnificent sight of the legendary guardian of life the Unicorn descend and it was actually ridden by someone.
said individual gets down from the Unicorn. looking at him and sensing his aura it holds so much power and warmth that are leagues from my Lady's and they thought that the aura came from the Unicorn. then with a wave of his hands, we were released from our ties.
then he waved his hand again. and our wounds and injures were healed even the broken bones in an instant were cured and they never felt so healthy.
what they didn't know was that he was also using Judgment on them to see if they should be healed or not. and them coming back clean.
Salah says: " everything is going to be okay, release the rest and bring them to me to heal them"
and one of them tells the rest to do as he said and heads to Salah. he was the one who was Kicked by the orc. he is the highest in command among them.
He greats Salah the elven greetings by placing a hand on the heart and then bowing and then says:" Dear Lord thank you for your aid I am Morthil Norven vice-captain of this squad may I know your name?"
all this happens while no one pays attention to the dining cries of orcs in the background.
