Chapter 6: Open When You're Sad

Virgil kicked his foot against the floor and moped around. Today just wasn't his day. He looked through the satchel and found a letter that said 'Open when you're sad'. Virgil opened it.

'Dear Virgil,

Today just isn't how you planned it, right? Don't worry, I get that all the time. To make me feel better, I usually go out to the garden or somewhere relaxing. It calms me down when I'm out in the open with the animals. You don't need my permission, but go out to my personal garden. I know I say everyone needs my permission to go to my places, but you, my dear, are an exception. Enjoy~

~Roman'

Virgil put the letter in his desk drawer and walked out of his room. He stayed alert for Roman, as he didn't want to get caught and explain to him what happened. Virgil opened the door to the garden and walked in. He gasped at the sight of it. He slowly closed the door and walked further in. He stopped at the pond in the middle of the garden and walked on the bridge. He stopped and looked down at the ducks peacefully swimming.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Someone behind him asked. Virgil jumped and looked at the person. It was Roman. "I'm guessing you read the letter?"

"Y-yeah..." Virgil muttered.

"Don't worry, I won't ask what happened. Let's just enjoy the view." Roman said and joined Virgil beside him.

"Thank you..." Virgil sighed as he and Roman both looked out at the rest of the garden.
