Chapter 4: Robbery

Saitama slouched back in his chair, releasing a loud yawn. Checking the time, he noticed it was already 4:20. Only forty minutes remaining of his night shift.

I'm exhausted. touching his wounds, wincing as they still stung. I'm so lucky they're not that deep.

It had been a couple of days since he got back home that night, he tended to the wound, and carefully bandaged it with cotton and gauze. He might not be an expert in first aid, but it seemed to work.

As for his tracksuit, he sent it to a local tailor shop for repairs. When Saitama revealed his aspiration of becoming a hero, the kind tailor, which goes by the name of draper, generously offered him a discounted price for the repairs

He released a second yawn, feeling extremely bored and tired. He's not usually lazy, but since it's late and no one is out shopping, and he doesn't have a phone, there's not a lot he can do to keep himself occupied.

I respect minimum wage workers more now. This has gotta be the most boring shit in existence. He pondered quietly to himself. Maybe i should buy a phone, a cheaper one would do.

Saitama noticed the automatic sliding door opening and glanced over to see five teenagers entering. Working late hours, he had seen a lot, but watching five delinquents carrying pipes and crowbars while wearing thief masks was definitely a first.

Without second thought, he jumped over the checkout land and ducked behind it. Of fucking course, the moment I mention being bored, this fucking tiny supermarket gets robbed.

He glanced quickly, seeing them threaten his co-worker to open the cash register. Who the hell robs a small supermarket for cash anyway? Saitama dashed towards one of the aisles.

He watched them closely, quickly forming a plan in his mind. Although he could charge in and fight them all, it would be very dangerous for him, especially because he was still hurt.

Therefore, he opted for the easiest course of action: divide and conquer.

He knocked down some of the aisle items, making as much ruckus as possible, and then crouched at the corner of the opening, far enough that whoever comes from the entrance won't see him.

Saitama listened as one of the teenagers commanded the rest, "Hey, go check over there." He patiently waited, the sound of footsteps getting closer until he pounced. He grabbed the teenager by the collar, pulled him closer, and forcefully slammed his head onto the aisle. The teenager fell to the ground, unconscious.

He heard a rush of footsteps approaching and quickly moved to the next aisle. Just in time, two more teenagers arrived at their unconscious friend. "Shit, someone knocked him out!" one of the teens exclaimed. "I thought there was no security," the other asked.

Saitama found himself in the sports aisle and noticed a baseball. He grabbed it and headed towards the two teens. Taking aim, he threw the ball at one of them, hitting him in the head.

Without giving the other teen a chance, he sprinted towards him and forcefully pushed him into the aisle, causing canned foods to fall to the floor. Saitama repeatedly punched the teen in the stomach and grabbed the arm holding the weapon, twisting it until he dropped it. He then grabbed the teen by the head and kneed him, causing him to drop.

he then kicked the first one in the stomach forcing him down, moans of pain coming out of two of them. Saitama then heard the electric door open, he looked and saw one of them running away. Yeah don't like it when shit hits the fan, huh?

He approached his colleague to see how he was doing. "Hey Tamanaha, are you alright?" Saitama inquired, nodding. "I'm fine" Tamanaha replied. "Alright, good to hear. By the way, wasn't there a fifth one? Where is he?" Saitama looked around.

"He went in there; I didn't see him run, so he's probably still inside" he pointed towards the manager's office. "Alright, call the police. I'll handle this," he said and a hand grabbed his shoulder. "Wait, Saitama, let's just wait for the police, they'll deal with him,"

He pushed the hand away "No, he'll bolt if he hears the sirens, it's better that way." he turned around, "don't worry about me, i'll be fine" he reassured with a smile and headed towards the manager office.

He pressed his ear against the door and heard movement inside. Looks like he's looking for a key to open the safe, good thing Mr buchou went home. Saitama tapped on the door, causing the shuffling noise to cease and footsteps to approach

He kicked the door open, causing the teenager to stumble and drop his weapon. Saitama kicked the crowbar away as the teen got back up. "You should have paid more attention in school, kid," Saitama remarked, assuming a boxing stance. "Shut up! I can do whatever I wan-"

The teen shouted before a punch to the face cut him off. Saitama proceeded to deliver a series of blows to the defenseless robber until a final uppercut knocked him to the ground.

"Like I said, should have stayed in school," he mocked.

Saitama, back at home, lying on the futon, had thoughts and memories swirling in his mind. He didn't feel guilty about beating up a bunch of kids, not at all, but rather, he was pondering something else.

If those kids had guns, would I have been able to defeat them or would I have lost my life? His hand brushed against the bandage. The world is incredibly dangerous; the monster I defeated was only a level wolf, and there are still others thousands of times stronger than him.

He shifted to his side. Deep Sea King, Boros, Garou, Monster Association... I wonder what would happen if I'm not strong enough to defeat them. He shifted again. Gah, thinking about them would give me a headache, as long as I focus on the training regimen then everything will be fine.

Saitama gazed at the ceiling, smiling. Heck, the manager even gave me 75000¥ for saving his store. He yawned and closed his eyes. Before drifting off to sleep, he had only one thought...

Who the hell robs their dad's store anyway.

I'm not very skilled at writing dialogue, so let me know how it went. Updates will be less frequent as I'll be concentrating on my college and midterm exams.

I read a review asking about romance. It's too early to tell if there will be any, that's all i'm going to say. what i can say is there won't be any 18+ scenes or "Smut". I don't write those.
