Chapter 2: Chapter 2: A New Alliance
Othinus spent the next few days exploring the city of Rimuru's kingdom. She was amazed at the diversity of creatures that lived there - there were lizardmen, goblins, and even talking wolves. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before.
Despite her initial skepticism, Othinus found herself growing more comfortable in this new world. She even began to make friends with some of the creatures in Rimuru's kingdom, something she never thought possible.
One day, as she was exploring the outskirts of the city, Othinus came across a group of lizardmen who were being attacked by a pack of giant wolves. Without thinking, she leapt into action, using her magic to fend off the wolves and protect the lizardmen.
As the battle raged on, Othinus felt a surge of power within her. This was what she was meant to do - to protect those who couldn't protect themselves.
When the battle was over, the grateful lizardmen thanked her and invited her to their village. Othinus was hesitant at first, but the lizardmen were insistent. "We owe you our lives," they said. "Please, come and share a meal with us."
Othinus reluctantly agreed, still wary of these creatures. But as she sat down to eat with them, she couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie. These creatures were not so different from her own people in her own world - they were simply trying to survive in a harsh and unforgiving world.
As she made her way back to Rimuru's kingdom that evening, Othinus couldn't help but feel conflicted. She had always been taught that her own world was the only one that mattered, and that all other worlds were inferior. But this new world had shown her kindness and compassion, something she had never experienced before.
When she returned to her quarters, Rimuru was waiting for her. "I heard about what happened with the lizardmen," he said. "You're quite the hero, aren't you?"
Othinus bristled at the word "hero." She had never considered herself a hero - she simply did what she had to do to survive. But Rimuru seemed genuinely impressed by her actions.
"I've been thinking," he said. "Your world and mine may be different, but we share a common enemy. The Demon Lords threaten both our worlds, and we need to work together to stop them."
Othinus was skeptical. She had never worked with anyone outside her own world before, and she wasn't sure she could trust this creature. But at the same time, she couldn't deny that Rimuru had shown her kindness and hospitality since she arrived in this world.
"What do you propose?" she asked.
Rimuru smiled. "I propose an alliance. Together, we can pool our resources and our strengths to defeat the Demon Lords and protect both our worlds."
Othinus considered his proposal for a moment. It was true that the Demon Lords were a threat to both their worlds, and that an alliance would increase their chances of success. But at the same time, she had always been taught that her own world was superior to all others. Could she really put aside her own biases and work with creatures from another world?
"I'll consider it," she said finally. "But I need time to think."
Rimuru nodded. "Of course. Take all the time you need. But remember - time is of the essence. The Demon Lords grow stronger with each passing day."
Othinus knew he was right. She had seen the devastation that the Demon Lords could cause - she had even faced some of them in her own world. If they didn't act soon, both their worlds would be destroyed.
Over the next few days, Othinus thought long and hard about Rimuru's proposal. She weighed the risks and benefits, and considered the implications of working with creatures from another world. In the end, she came to a decision.
"I will accept your proposal," she said to Rimuru one evening. "But on one condition - that we work as equals. I will not tolerate any attempts to undermine my authority or my power."
Rimuru nodded. "Agreed. We are partners in this, and we will work together to defeat the Demon Lords."
And so, the alliance between Othinus and Rimuru was formed. Together, they began to plan their next move, strategizing and preparing for the inevitable battle to come. Othinus was still wary of these creatures from another world, but she couldn't deny that they were strong and capable allies.
As she trained and prepared for battle, Othinus couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. This was what she was meant to do - to protect the innocent and defeat the forces of evil. And with Rimuru by her side, she knew they could accomplish anything.
