Chapter 1: The beginning
Overlium, an enormous landmass created as an after-effect of the great ancient war between the Elves, Dark Elves, Spirits, Demons, Beasts and Immortals. The human realm was also a creation that was given birth to during this war; the Immortals joined hands with the Elves to create beings that had no magic but were loyal and humble.
At the end of the war, the humans though driven by loyalty decided that they want to protect their kind rather than serve other beings and gained freedom and occupied the land of Overlium. The small human population was immature and had a great talent for innovation.
Even with such great creations, the war left countless families homeless. The kind humans let them into Overlium. The humans divided the land into the inner city of Thoran, where refugees of the war settled and the outer city of Kabukicho, where the humans created a city of prosperity and wealth open to all realms to use.
Soon the inner city of Thoran, originally consisting of mourning families was now a land filled with crime and culture. The city was beautifully built but covered in graffiti. Still, the people lived in the harmony of the pain they went through together despite the fact they were on opposite ends of the war. But in all this togetherness they lived in fear of the Yamaguchi crime syndicate also known as the Crows of the slum. It is said that anyone that disagreed with their statements was never seen again, no corpse, no dying letter and no will what-so-ever.
"Tora, best of luck. Remember to be home before dark", yelled a wolfman standing in his kitchen preparing dinner. "Okay uncle", I said as I left the house. I am sixteen years old a tigress by birth. I have been living with my uncle Jeran the wolf after the disappearance of my parents when I was seven.
I just landed my first job at the local bakery that sells the most delicious curry bread I have ever tasted. It a combination of honey-like sweetness but also has the spiciness of ghost peppers. The curry was a blend of herbs that made you lose all your senses, while the bread made of nothing but whole grain and love. Combined you can do nothing but gobble it down.
