Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Fleeting Past

Eli, was jerked back to reality by the touch of Taliyah.

"Are you Okay?" He looked at her profusely and proceeded to ask

"What is the date today?" She was shocked as it was the first time he spoke in her presence. She assumed he was mute. His voice was chapped and raspy like an old wind turbine probably from being unused for so long. He repeated the question as he could not get an answer. "What is the date today?"

"200 lunar 25th year of the dragon?" She watched his confused face as it went from scrunched when he proceeded to ask a follow up question. "Who is the current sovereign?"

"There hasn't been a sovereign in a millennium. The last sovereign was Fairy BingBing but she disappeared after a terrible fight with the Tree society at least that is the tale I have been told.'' She answered again.

"Do you remember anything?... What is your name? where do you come from?..." She asked, but she was ignored by Eli. He was busy looking at the sky while counting his fingers in a serious manner. His eyes started shifting left and right in the span of seconds his demeanor went from a helpless kid to that of a ferocious beast trying to bite the heavens.

An intense killing intent rose from his body, like a tsunami wave creating a domain filled with negative feeling. Weak minded being were influenced by his aura and resonated by releasing their own aura toward the sky, like a choir in a cult, expending its recruiting like a virus.

Taliyah understood very quickly she wasn't going to be given an answer, but she tried her best to pull him out of his meditation. She believed he was experiencing cultivation deviation. "HEY! I AM TALKING TO YOU. WAKE UP?" She screamed while resisting the corrupting aura with her own spiritual aura.

Suddenly a laugh broke out of Eli's thin lips; it was innocent and intoxicating as it carried through the clear. A complete contrast to the towering murderous wave above his head. The glow generated by the hue of the sunset spread over half his face created the illusion of a deity. The world seemed to resonate with him in that instant acknowledging his presence; one of a tyrant. The wave descended slowly like a drop of water on the surface of calm lac. In discreet ripples it spread out to far regions around of the world like an echo location signaling his arrival.

He the Owner of this world had regained his human body, he had to let the heavens and a few undying existences that he was back. And he wouldn't mind unleashing a few genocides to stretch his tiny limbs.

''let's go'' His croaky voice brought Taliyah out of her reverie. She couldn't believe this youngster was ordering her around completely ignoring what she had just witnessed. " Go where? Who are you?" she retorted.

"The village of course do you plan to spend the night here." He replied Without sparing her a glance.

"How did you get here? where are you from? How old are you?" On the road back to the village, she was unhinged in her attempt to question him. She threw a bunch of questions at him. But Eli was still indifferent to her inquiry.

He was strolling around the village , reminiscing as the village was built on the burial site of his old Ryh clan. Millions of year have passed the Eternal soul river had dried up , causing the collapse of the soul mending faction, enemies were buried in the sand of times, as well as families and friends.

He could remember the emplacement of his third brother training hall, his family would gather in the afternoon to watch him display his martial arts while laughing and commenting harmoniously. He could picture his old study room that was now replaced by fish stall. Every step of his was steady as if telling the world that he was shedding away his link to the past and embracing the new life he was given.

As soon as they reached the courtyard of Taliyah's family, Eli walked straight toward the dried-up water well in the right most corner before climbing up the lid. "Under no circumstance should you come near the well." He said smiling to her before free falling in the well.

Taliyah was taken aback but the action of the brat she took for a suicide attempt. She made a run for the well hoping to catch his falling body before he became human paste. when she felt an aura so ominous coming from the hole. A monstrous pressure emanated from the well, engulfing the whole courtyard. Taliyah released her cultivation and her celestial constitution to resist the pressure. But the pressure suddenly doubled shaking her foundation to the point of collapse.

Her eyes began to bleed, as her body folded under the terrifying pressure. She could already sense the calls from the other world when a familiar hand appeared from behind her alleviating the pressure for an instant. It was enough for her to gather the rest of her energy and run as far as she could from the well.

After reaching a sufficient distance she got to catch her breath, vomit some blood, and stabilize her cultivation. She was now absolutely convinced; the kid was dangerous.

After a moment of rest, she could see her father struggling to contain the aura within a light barrier. She rapidly deduced he was the one who helped her out of the previous predicament she was in. Immediately she joined him to stabilize the barrier to prevent the aura from spreading in the rest of the village.

Inside the well, Eli was free falling at a high-speed face first. The pressure was a thousand times stronger that the one felt outdoor. His body was crumbling, his organs were crushed, and his body completely mangled. However not a sound came out of his mouth as he endured the pain. A second before he landed on the rocky floor, writings on the sides of the circular crevasse forming the well lit up in a well ordained sequence before illuminating the well in a dramatic fashion.

An explosion resonated from the cave underground and propagated to the surface creating a small earthquake that caused the well the crumbled unto itself. The nefarious pressure disappeared, and Taliyah and her father could finally relax.

Eli's body under the stimulation if the writings reappeared in a separate space under the well. His battered body was bleeding from all orifices, while he stood up shabbily to explore the cave. It was an ordinary underground water cave, with rocky formations carved from flowing water and termites. The air was cold and chilly, and the smell of moisture and leftover skunk permeated the air. It was completely dark and the writings on the wall were the only source of light guiding Eli to his destination.

Eli's body was weak, and he could feel his life force slipping away with every step he took. But he knew that he had to keep going.

Finally, after what felt like hours of wandering through the dark and treacherous cave, there was a strange energy in the air, a feeling of power and possibility that seemed to emanate from the very walls around him.

And then, as he rounded a sharp bend in the cave, he saw it .
