Chapter 2: No Tag...Just Confessions
"Guys this year I'm not going to play. I don't want to roll my ankle like last year because that affected my basketball during this time of year." I said as they run out the door.
"Me too. I'm too clumsy." he says right behind me.
"We'll watch you." I say and they nod and they take off. The oldest is always it so normally it's me but this time Kotoko is it. I take a seat on the blocks outside and I see Naokatsu and Kotoko chasing each other. Then he sits next to me.
I shiver. I left my jacket inside and didn't think it would be so cold. I guess I should've known better because that night I was wearing my Christmas dress and tights.
"Thanks....." I say slowly and looked shocked.
"What for?"
"Making tonight the best Christmas ever...." I say as Kotoko and Naokatsu run in the grass in the distance."
"How so?" Kiatsu asks confused.
"I never have anyone...I always have to take care of them on my own...I never have anyone to talk to...And your here...Someone at least here even if your 1 year older than me….Someone talking to me...Someone that gets me….Someone actually caring..." I say.
"I wouldn't get so used to it...." He says frowning. I don' t question it and then he says"I love this seeing my sister run around having a great time....I like how you try to make it the best Christmas ever for her. My cousins never did that for me. Aiko, Your a great cousin....Thanks for looking out for Kotoko...." He looks like he's gonna cry.
"Of course....I always wanted a little sister and brother....And that's what her and Naokatsu are for me." I say. I shiver. He takes off his leather jacket and places it on my shoulders.
"Thanks....." I say.
"Can this night last forever...So, I can be with my family..." he says lightly. I wish it could have lasted forever looking back at it.
"Well, it gets better when it's present time....The way Kotoko's face lights up..." I smile. "It's like nothing you've ever seen before... Well, I guess you see it all the time your her brother after all, Kiatsu." I say and he pauses. I didn't know why....Now I do....
"I'm Glad she has you Aiko." I look up at him and he wrapps his arm around me and I lay my head on his chest....
"Kiatsu..." I start.
"Yeah Aiko?" He says.
"What is it like...." I say. "Being in love with someone who's heart belongs to someone else...." He sighs and I can feel him holding me tighter.
"It sucks but I mean I can wait for her....I would wait for her forever....." I hear him say. "I hope you never in love with someone who is in love with someone else Aiko I really do." I can hear his heartbeat but the sound of sadness when he talks.
"Hey cheer up it's christmas Eve!" I say and he chuckles.
"Yeah....But all I want for christmas is her...."
"What's her name." I ask under my breath but he hears me.
"Hana." He says. I smile Hana a perfect name and my cousin seems to be a perfect guy what does the guy she's dating have that he doesn't? Kaitsu since I met him I notice he is nice, sweet, loving, caring, funny, and a overall amazing person. What more could every girl want. I mean he's kinda cute if you like that. So what is it? What is his boyfriend to you? You can still chase after something you love right? I mean what who is he to you? Some guy your afraid of?? Do I ask?
"And her boyfriend? What is he to you?"
He sighs.....
