Chapter 17: Higher Being
The door sucked us in...
But this time i could see my surroundings. There were huge clocks and things that looked like big frangments floating in the same direction as us, the space around was still white though. I see a vortex ahead of us and at its centre i can see the Fourth Floor room, but it's still a bit far away, it will take around 10 minutes to get there at the speed we're moving at.
I tried to use [Analyze] on the clocks and fragments, but it said this:
[Error: the energy of a Higher Being is obstructing the skill [Analyze]]
It was written in a red panel instead of the usual blue one.
We kept floating at the same speed for about five minutes, but suddently one of the fragments behind us became faster than before, it was going to hit me and Domo at this rate! I tried pushing Domo away but since i'm floating i can't exert much strenght, so i can't move him much, so it's useless, i try to store the fragment with the Bracelet Of Gluttony, but a message similar to the error before popped up. There was nothing i could do to dodge that huge fragment... I somehow managed to pull Domo towards me with my spear, i put him behind my back, to protect him from the impact of the fragment and then equipped the shield that was tied on my back to try to resist the impact even if it's just a little. The fragment was going to hit us any moment now...
*Swush*
I kept my eyes shut preparing for the impact, but i didn't feel anything... I opened my eyes and notice i'm in a room i've never seen before, it looked kind of similar to the Floors of The Tower... It had the same brick pattern as them, but this room is circular and there are eight fancy looking pillars at about 7 meters from the wall that formed another circle. At the centre of the room there is a large sphere of chains. The chains were slightly glowing red.
Through the holes between the chains i could see a boy, floating at the centre of the sphere. He had short white hair and ripped wings on his back, enveloping him. He was wearing ragged clothes and his skin was slightly dirty. I notice he's holding something in his arms but i can't see what it is since his wings are blocking the view.
I look around to see if there are any monsters or other dangerous things since Domo is here with me, but there doesn't seem to be anything to be wary of.
I slowly and carefully walk towards the huge sphere of chains to take a closer look.
As i'm coming closer to the spehere, the red glow around the chains started getting brighter and brighter, until the chains were completely red, at that point, the Bracelet Of Gluttony started moving a bit, as if it was resonating with them. I keep walking towards the sphere anyway and now i'm in front of it. I notice that the boy floating in the sphere is unconcious and has tears on his eyelids.
I touch one of the chains out of curiousity, but the moment i did that, many if the chains that created the sphere vanished and the Bracelet Of Gluttony stopped moving. The red glow got a little weaker too.
I tried to analyze the boy, since we're in a different place and that strange energy shouldn't be here too...

What? Higher Being?! This boy is?! Wait a second... Ragged clothes, wings coming out of his back, now that i look at him better he has blood on his arm too. It is too similar to the kid that wrote that diary... Could the kids of that orphanage really be the 7 Gods? But i tought they killed him... Maybe they sealed him here after he wrote the last part of the diary! But why...?
As i was thinking about all of this, the chains started glowing stronger, much more than before, but then part of the glow transfered from the chains and went up into the air, slowly condensing into something. A blinding red light was emitted from there for a second, then an item fell on the floor. It was the diary of that kid!
But this one was pure evil in terms of energy... It contained a much darker and stronger mana in it than the one i read...
[Olan's skill: [Equivalent Exchange (Passive)] has been succesfully activated!]
What? Domo' skill activated??? The book started floating as a green energy enveloped the book slowly. After about 30 seconds, a red gem dropped on the ground, and the book wasn't there anymore.
Is this Domo's skill...?
I wonder what that crystal is, but i can't analyze it since the boy is near.
*Crack*
What?! All of a sudden the entire room cracked, it looked like it was going to fall apart at any moment. I run towards Domo, with the gem in my hand.
*Swush*
I remember seeing a ceiling after i heard that, but i fainted shortly after...
