Chapter 22: OverGodly Skill

I opened the floor door and conquered the Floor.

After that, the fire on the torches changed and was now back to normal. I then began walking to get back to the others, but something fell on my head right after i started walking.

"Ouch"

I look below to see what hit me.

It was a stone ring. I pick it up, thinking it was an artifact, and analyze it.

[Analyze]...

Item Name: Ring Of The Protector

Type: Artifact

Grade: Rare Series: Stone Guardian

Skills:

- [Stone Body]: Once activated, the bracelet will grant the user +50 DEF and +2 STA for 30 seconds (Cooldown: 30 minutes).

[Congratulations! You cleared a Boss Floor and received a reward!]

[You discovered a new artifact (Ring Of The Protector)!]

[Alert! A set effect has been detected: [Immovable]: Having now found all of the 25 different artifacts of the Stone Guardian series, you can now turn into the Stone Guardian! (While in Stone Guardian form: +2000 DEF, +10 STA, +5 STR, -3 AGI, +75 ATK. Duration: 2 Minutes, Cooldown: 2 Hours)]

Wow... So if i find the other 24 pieces of this artifact set i will be basically immune to any physical attack! The only problem is finding them... Well, it's not like i'm desperate for more defense, this ring is enough for now.

I go back to the others and notice Domo walking towards me.

"Ray... I'm sorry i couldn't help in the battle... I was too scared, i couldn't even move a finger..." Says Domo, apologizing with a sad face, "But, after seeing you guys fight with that monster, i decided i will never cower in fear again! I want to help you all, just like how you helped me and the other villagers!!" Continues Domo with a determined tone and face, "Let's complete these damned Trials together then!" I tell Domo with a smile, "Yeah!" Responds Domo, also smiling.

The other villagers felt the same way, and apologized. They then went to tell the others to move to the now conquered Fifth Floor.

Me and baldie on the other hand, went to the forgery to see Darius...

"Welcome back! Seems like the raid went well! I also forged some titanium hand guards for Adam." Says Darius, welcoming us back, "Well, you could say we succeded in the end... Anyway, thanks for the equipment!" Says baldie.

"So, did you find any good material in the Fifth Floor?" Asks Darius, "No, but we still have to check what the secret room will give us. Who knows, we may get something good!" Says baldie, hoping for the secret room to have supplies or materials to use to forge better equipment, "Now, since we conquered the Fifth Floor, let's introduce you to the others!" Says baldie, looking forward to see their reactions, "Let's check the new secret room first" i say, "Fine by me, what do you say, Darius?" Asks baldie while looking at Darius, "I'd like that too, i was just about to make an iron helmet" says Darius while indicating a chunk of metal with his hammer, "Let's go check it then" says baldie while walking towards the door.

We were about to go upstairs, but, while we were walking, i see Haru coming downstairs, she looked kind of wierd though.

She didn't have her usual bright expression on her face, her expression was... Empity? No, more than empity it looked like she was lost in her thoughts and... A bit scared? Maybe it's just my imagination.

"Oh, hi Haru" says baldie while waving at her, "!... Hi..." Responds Haru, looking a bit startled, as if she didn't even notice us at first. We then go up the stairs and open the door.

"What? What happened here??" Says baldie while looking around, confused and a bit shocked.

The room had changed, instead of the bloody floor and walls with the skull markings, there were now a dark brown, almost black, polished marble floor, and walls that were made out of fir wood, the torches too had now changed to white candles held by a golden candle holder.

Together, it created a wierd atmosphere, as if it was evening, and you were in a wooden house up in the mountains, in winter, with some candles and the fireplace lit up. It created that kind of mood.

Even though it should have been a bit dark, we could see clearly for some reason. There were also three secret rooms instead of one.

"I'll go to the right one." i tell baldie, "Alright, i'll go left." Says baldie while walking towards the secret room on the left. "Oh, there you are guys. Noone has entered any of the secret rooms yet, so i decided to wait for you. So, wich one am i going in?" Asks Domo after seeing me and baldie, "Mid one" responds baldie while indicating the door in the centre wall, "Got it, see you later!" Says Domo while walking towards the secret room in the middle.

I then started walking towards the right door...

*Creak...*

I opened the door and it made a creking noise, similar to an old wooden door opening. As i enter, i notice that the room was small and very dark, except for the large stone statue placed in the middle of the room, wich was brightened by rays of light coming from above. I quickly notice that even though there are rays of light, there is no light source, the light was literally coming from nowhere.

The floor and walls were made of ancient spruce wood. There were also some pieces of broken spruce furniture here and there, many of the pieces looked like the legs of a chair.

The stone statue represented a woman, praying while standing, she was wearing a hood on her head and had her eyes closed. I couldn't distinguish much else because the statue had partially eroded with time. Also, because of the bright rays of light coming from above, i could also see some of the dust in the air, floating around.

I stood there, motionless, admiring the beatiful scenery before my eyes...

After a couple of seconds i snap back into reality, and start looking around in the room. Since the room was so small, i finished searching almost immediately, and only found an ancient looking yellowish piece of paper, wich looked like it was only a piece that had been ripped from the original paper sheet, on the ground, near a pile of wood.

"-Are dimensions? Well, the First Dimension is pretty simple. A point, a dot, a singular state of being that holds no relativity."

"Nothing exists in relation to the First Dimension, but, as soon as we start relating points to one another, we have entered the Second Dimension, wich is but the shadow of the Third Dimension. It is easiest to simbolize as a line, having lenght, and width."

"Then there is the Third Dimension, the dimension we, and our senses, live in. It contains depth, height and such. The second dimension is like living on paper, you would have no clue of what is above, or beneath you, it would be nonexistant. The same could be applied to all the other dimension as well."

"Then there is the Fourth Dimension, wich goes beyond the senses, and the mind of reasoning and logic. It is not present, nor linear. Past, and future, do not exist outside of present, and, interstingly and mysteriously enough, we too have this ability. It is outside of our logical mind, it is represented by imagination, creativity, and will, all needed to bend and control Mana, and create new shapes of magic."

"Seeing as the First Dimension is the shadow of the second, wich in turn is the shadow of the third, we can conclude that the Third Dimension is the shadow of the Fourth Dimension. All changes take place-"

What the hell is this?? I could barely understand its contents by focusing on it with all i had...

[Alert! You have found a fragment of the concept behind the OverGodly skill! Your INT stat has gone up by 10, obtaining the skill, [Dual Mind]!]

[[Dual Mind]: You can create a second mind with your Mana, the processes that slowed down your brain and thinking will temporarely transfer to the Mana Mind after activating this skill (Duration: As much as the normal mind can withstand, Cooldown: 1 Day)]

What the?! I obtained 10 INT points and a broken skill just from READING A FRAGMENT of this thing?!!? Just who created this piece of paper...?

"Hey, everything alright in there, Ray? It's been a while since you've entered you know??" I hear baldie's voice from behind the wooden door.

"Yeah, i was just about to come out." I respond while storing the piece of paper in the Bracelet Of Gluttony.

I then open the door and come out...

Chapter 22-End.

(Sorry if some things seemed out of place, or out of character at the beginning of the chapter. I just couldn't bring myself to "visualize" the story clearly in my head at the beginning.)
