Chapter 2: 50% caged
Rashid studied at the local boys school but he rarely concentrated on his study and neither did he get involved in any of the side businesses of the boys unlike his younger brother who was good in studies. He was just bored of anything he came across,lazy boy huh. but he still passed the exams anyhow because his father being the senior teacher of the school.
Roop, on the other hand, couldn't attend the school as the girls were mostly kept inside the four walls but her family, after being spoken to by Mr. Khan, agreed her to get private tuitions by him at home so that she could learn as well as stay within her boundaries.
Technically,she was 50% caged in the house.
Being the only child, she received his parents' total love and support. Her mother, Riya Kapoor, though uneducated, held high moral values and never lagged back on enculcating the same in her dearest daughter.
Since a young child, she held high morality and applied it too, except on Rashid. ( oh why😶) He was the only one to receive her slaps and punches while everyone else received her kindness.
One day, Roop was walking through the roads with the little kitten her fathet had gifted her two days back, singing merrily, she carried the kitten in her arms. Just as she proceeded some further, a pack of wild dogs stood right in front of her. Being a six-year-old, she got frightened beyond measure and stood there lifeless seconds passed and as the dogs were about to attack her, a stone from nowhere hit one of the dogs which led to the entire pack running away. As soon she turned around to see the angelic soul that helped her, to her shock, it was none other than Rashid, looking at her with a grim expression and then started heading home. Just then, he heard her say, " can you accompany me home?"
