Chapter 3: Chapter Three

Peyton gets their package and then grabs their keys and wallet. They then get in their car and start it up. Peyton then drives off to Alex's. Once there Peyton parks beside the house and gets out after turning the engine off. Peyton locks their car manually and then climbs the tree by Alex's window. They tap on the glass quietly. Alex comes to the window and opens it. She smiles. Peyton smiles back. "Hey. You coming in?" Peyton shakes their head and offers Alex their hand. "Come smoke with me." Alex looks scared. "Its okay. I'll have you." Alex takes Peyton's hand and climbs out the window and onto the tree branch. Peyton quickly rolls two joints and hands one to Alex. They light theirs and hand the lighter to Alex. Alex lights her joint and then hands the lighter back to Peyton. They stick it in their pocket and then move closer to Alex and puts their arm behind Alex. The two smoke away. "So." Peyton blows out the smoke through their nose. "About your birthday. You'll be 18 so I was thinking maybe we'll do something special together. Like go out to dinner or something." Alex finishes her joint and throws the butt down on the ground after putting it out on the tree. "Yeah that'd be nice. What were you thinking? Sushi?" Peyton shakes their head. "Have you ever had Italian?" Alex shakes her head. "Never." Peyton looks shocked. "For reals?" Alex nods. "For real." "Okay I'm taking you to my favourite Italian place. It's settled." Alex chuckles. Peyton smiles. Peyton stands up and picks up Alex. Peyton climbs through the window and then puts Alex down. "Hey I have a question." Peyton and Alex lay down on the bed. "What's up?" Alex takes off Peyton's shirt and then her own. "Can we just lay like this?" Peyton wraps their arm around Alex and pulls her straight against their chest. Peyton kisses Alex's neck. "Of course my angel. Good night." Alex places Peyton's hand on her boob. "Good night." The next morning. Alex wakes up to Peyton grunting in pain. She rolls over. "What's wrong?" "I'm just painfully hard right now. Give me a minute." Alex looks worried. "Do you need help?" Peyton rolls onto their back. Peyton pulls their shorts down a bit. "My brother does though." Peyton laughs. "You really can't wait can you?" Alex shakes her head. Peyton sighs. "Fine." Alex squeals with joy and then runs out the room. Peyton laughs and then throws the pillow over their face. Once Alex comes back she sits on Peyton's lap. "We don't have to if you don't want to you know." Peyton takes the pillow off their face. "You and my mother?" Peyton nods. "We were both drunk." Alex's mother comes in. "I was way better looking back then." Alex turns her head. Peyton smirks. "Nah you're still beautiful Justine." Justine smiles. "Thank you dear. Will you be staying long?" Peyton looks at Alex. Alex wraps her arms around Peyton's possessively. Justine and Peyton laugh. "Looks like Alex is claiming me." Justine shrugs. "It was a one time thing." Justine leaves. Peyton looks at Alex. "Hey." Peyton sits up and pulls Alex onto their lap. "What's wrong?" Alex sniffles. "I don't want you to go." Peyton rubs Alex's cheek with their thumb. "I know baby but I have to go home eventually." "I know. I just don't want you to." Peyton hugs Alex gently. Alex hugs back tightly. "I'll stay for breakfast but then I'll have to go. Okay?" Alex nods. "Okay." Peyton and Alex go downstairs to eat breakfast. Justine puts the eggs and bacon on three plates. Alex takes hers and Peyton's and sits. Peyton takes their plate and waits for Justine to sit. "Thank you for the delicious food." Justine smiles. "You're welcome." The three finish eating and Peyton grabs the dishes and washes them. They then dry and put them away. Justine smiles. "You're an amazing house guest." Peyton winks. "Well I better get going. I gotta go deal with some family drama." Justine chuckles when Peyton rolls their eyes. "Tell him I say hello." Peyton nods. "For sure." The two hug. Alex follows Peyton to the door. "I don't want you to go." Peyton sighs. "Justine I'm taking Alex with me. I'll be back tonight." Justine nods. "Alright." Eric comes downstairs. "Before you go." Justine looks at Eric and then at Peyton and back at Eric again. Peyton growls. Alex hits them in the chest. "Listen to him." Eric clears his throat. "I'm sorry for getting in your business and trying to take Alex from you. I'm just overprotective of her. I see that you are too so yeah. I'm sorry. We cool?" Eric offers his hand. Peyton looks at Alex who nods. They then look at Eric and shake their hand. "From now on she's yours. I'll only be there when need be." Peyton smiles and nods. Eric smiles back. "Alright I'll let you go do your thing." Peyton punches Eric's shoulder gently. Eric chuckles. "Alright I'll see you later." Justine nods. Alex and Peyton leave after putting on their shoes. On the drive. "Where are we going?" Peyton turns onto the highway. "Once a year my brother loses control so on that day he does I'm always there. Keeping him from killing anyone. Now you understand why I didn't want you coming? You're human." Alex nods. "Well you'll protect me." "And what if I can't and I lose control of him? What then? You'll be dead." Alex sighs and looks out the window. Once Peyton stops the car. "Stay here." "But." Peyton looks at Alex seriously. Alex sighs. "Fine." Peyton kisses Alex's cheek and gets out of the car. They then walk to the shed. "Aaron!" Aaron smiles and walks up to Peyton. The two hug. "So I hear you have a girlfriend? Can I meet her?" Peyton hesitates. Aaron punches Peyton's shoulder. "Oh shut up. I'm not gonna hurt her." "You say that now." Aaron walks out the shed to the car. He knocks on the window. Alex looks up. She then rolls down the window. "Howdy. I'm Aaron." Aaron offers Alex his hand. Alex shakes it carefully. "Alex." Aaron leans over the open window. "So Alex. How's life treatin ya these days?" Alex shrugs. "Pretty well actually." Alex looks at Peyton. Aaron chuckles. "Yeah well be careful with this one. Wouldn't want to get on their bad side." Peyton kicks Aaron in the ass. "Shut up." Aaron laughs and walks away. He then turns back around. "Hey you two fancy some sushi? My girlfriend is working on some in the kitchen as we speak." Alex gets out of the car. Aaron laughs. "That's a yes I guess." Alex walks close to Peyton. Alex goes to walk ahead when Peyton grabs her arm. Alex pulls away. "Would you relax?" Alex starts walking next to Aaron and they chat away. A little later they're all eating sushi. "So Alex what classes do you take with Peyton?" Alex taps at her mouth with her napkin. "English and Science." "You enjoy those?" Alex shrugs. "They're okay. Not my favorite subjects." Aaron nods. "What are your favorite subjects?" Alex finishes eating and cleans her plate. "Math and Gym." Aaron smiles. "Those were my favorite too." Alex smiles. Tristine gets up. "You done baby?" Aaron nods. "Thank you darling." Tristine takes Aaron's plate and her own and washes them. Alex looks up at the sky. So does Tristine. "You're scared aren't you?" Alex shrugs. "A little but not much." Tristine smiles and turns around. "You're brave for a human. Very brave." Alex looks at Tristine's arm. "May I ask how you got that?" Tristine looks at where Alex was looking and smiles. "That was from him. After we first started dating he lost control of his wolf and attacked me. Little did he know I was one too. So we fought." Alex leans against the counter. "How'd you survive?" Tristine sits up on the counter. "I almost didn't. If Peyton hadn't shown up he would have torn me apart. They saved me. Now I'm like them." "Why can't you control him?" "When his wolf takes over his mind he doesn't listen to anyone but them. Sometimes he doesn't even listen to them. Sometimes he's too far gone that the two of them actually fight. Just like I did with him that one night." Tristine and Alex hear a growl. They both look up at the sky. "Alex go." Aaron starts to turn. Peyton comes back from the bathroom and wraps their arms around Aaron's chest tightly. Alex trips and cuts her hand. Aaron tries to break free. Peyton looks at Tristine. "Hey. Tris. Look at me. Look at me Tris." Tristine looks over at Peyton. Peyton breathes in and out. In and out. Tristine copies. "Just like I taught you." Tristine keeps doing the breathing in and out until she's calm. She then grabs Alex and takes her to the bathroom to help clean her hand. Aaron breaks out of Peyton's grip. He tries to run up the stairs but Peyton grabs him by his throat and drags him outside. "Stop it!" Aaron fully shifts. Peyton unzips their hoodie and takes it off. They then rip off their shirt and let their claws and teeth extend. They both roar. Aaron tries to jump on Peyton but they move out of the way and wrap their arms around Aaron's belly tightly. Aaron squirms. "Stop this. You can fight this." Peyton pushes Aaron away. Aaron snarls. Peyton does too. Aaron runs at Peyton and jumps on them. Alex tries to go to them. Tristine wraps her arms around Alex's stomach. "Let me go." "No. They'll be okay." Peyton pushes Aaron off them and slashes at his face. After about an hour of fighting Peyton grabs hold of Aaron and wraps their arms around Aaron's chest tightly. "Aaron you can fight it. You're stronger than it is. You have a beautiful girlfriend. You have a child on the way. Stop this." Aaron starts whimpering. Peyton loosens their grip. Aaron starts shifting back to normal. He screams and falls to the ground. Peyton helps him up and carefully wraps his arm around their shoulder. They walk back to the house slowly. "You did good brother. You did good." Aaron groans. "I feel like shit." Peyton chuckles. "Yeah that's what happens when you attack a hybrid dude." Aaron chuckles and then winces. "Don't make me laugh." "Justine says hi by the way." Aaron smiles. The two get back to the house and Tristine helps Aaron up to bed. Alex comes over. Peyton looks at Alex's hand. "You okay?" Alex nods. "Tristine helped me clean and bandage it." Peyton nods. Tristine comes downstairs. "He's fast asleep." Peyton smiles. "Alright we're gonna get going. Gotta get her home." Tristine nods and hugs Peyton. "Thanks again." "He's my brother so." Tristine nods. Alex and Peyton leave. Alex waves. Tristine waves back. Peyton drives away after putting on their zip up hoodie. At Alex's Justine comes out of the house. "You have any idea what time it is?" Peyton comes around the car. "I'm so sorry Justine. The thing with my brother took longer than I thought." Justine sighs. "Get in here." Peyton locks the car and follows Alex and Justine into the house. Alex and Peyton go up to bed. They go to sleep after brushing their teeth and plugging in their phones.
