Chapter 46: Erik Stevenson - The King of Africa

-----Erik POV, 1997 -----

After a week of our attack on 'HAND' and its global operations, half of the world was shaken. Father and the knights had uprooted a major power of Asia and the underworld there was reduced to a few local gangs. In time other gangs will fill this space but they can never control or harm this part of the world as HAND did.

"This African World War as the rest of the world is calling it may seem like an internal conflict between the African Countries but it is being pushed by major economic leaders sitting in their nice comfy luxury homes drinking 10,000$ wine.

I am not going to sit and study in the US and pretend everything is great when millions of my people are dying there. I want to become a better king than my uncle who rules Wakanda. My father, N'Jobu, wanted to save or help these Africans but he chose the wrong way. I do not support supplying weapons but I want the knights to help me and control all the tribes. After a while, I want to merge entire Africa into one kingdom."

I spoke my thoughts into this emergency meeting which was called in the control room in our HQ. After knowing what happened in Africa by Steve, I had to take the Quinjet the next day and come here. I can be a king of Wakanda if I defeat my cousin but Wakanda does not need a king. The rest of Africa does.

I saw father looking happy at my declaration but everyone else in the control room was not so calm.

"Do you even know how to manage one small town? Do you know being a king means taking responsibility for millions of people, their livelihood and their daily needs. They need education, healthcare, economic support and most importantly a belief to follow. What do you have boy? Your support is only us! And do you think we, less than a hundred people can help you manage a population of millions of people?"

Fury questioned me like I knew he would. I could see the same doubts flashing in the eyes of everyone present. But he is right. I know I can do nothing without the support of Shadow Isles and even then it won't be enough.

"Yes, you are right Fury. He has nothing except our support. Tell me Steve do you agree with this Idea? I asked all of you to think about what we should do and all I can see here is a sixteen-year-old boy playing a kingdom game!" Phil questioned father and Steve looked at me. I nodded to him and told him I am ready for this.

"I support him and I hope everyone else can do the same. We know he is a champion of a certain god and I think helping him in this might help him to become the best champion out there. In future, I hope he can be the champion of people, Phil. Besides, he will have me to guide him." Steve replied after thinking and I can see Uncle Phil thinking something.

"Then he will have the full support of my Phillips Group. I will have Fury monitor his every action and every mission and as long as his heart is in right place, I will continue to support him. He might become a good fighter but to become a good king, he needs hundreds if not thousands of helpers to maintain daily operations. This will take global recruitment and I can support that. As the commander of Knights, how to use our little army is up to you.

However, this will need a more legal and formal approach and you will have to find a way for that. In return, I will seek some benefits for my group in terms of materials and minerals and that will get us safe cover from the US govt. and other corporations who are watching this big cake."

Uncle Phil said and he came and patted my shoulder. This finally gave me the capital to start my mission. I don't know how long will it take but I will unify Africa one day and then show those turtles hiding in Wakanda how to be a good king. I will challenge him one day and defeat him and find justice for my father.

In the cold winds of November, a certain tribal prince rose in Africa in one corner and started conquering other tribes and started merging them into a bigger tribe. He went on to win the support of many locals and then he asked for the help of Phillips groups.

In exchange for mining rights in his present and future lands, he took a 3% share in the Phillips group. This 3% was more than a million dollars annual profit and with this, he started global recruitment of many professors, engineers and management talents from all over the world.

The Phillips group provided a lot of help in this and with this move, Phillips group suddenly became the first corporation to have legal mining rights in Africa. The share prices jumped sharply and a lot of corporations who were trying to control this huge continent knew they had a new competitor in the game.

Someone, who does not want to play with them and directly flipped the whole table. This also got support from the US govt. as this means they have a fixed legal source for a lot of scarce minerals and they had no interest in ruling or controlling anything in such a poor country.

For them, Africans were just either immigrants living in their country or future immigrants coming to live. If these guys can live in their own country, then the govt. was more than happy.

Phillips groups showed their huge influence and a lot of people were transferred into managing the countries, the Prince was capturing with his local force. An African Prince along with a strange big African Lion was moving at a frightening speed and killing the local warlords and merging their tribes.

------ Phil POV------

After three months of waiting, I felt the space around my room suddenly changing. I saw the glowing circle appearing in the room and I directly entered into it.

"It took three months for Sorcerer supreme to finally have an answer. For someone who can look in the river of time, see all the possible futures, you sure took a lot of time in this!" I spoke to the Ancient One who was sitting in a huge hall.

Along with the ancient one, there were many sorcerers who I recognised.
