Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The Harbinger of Wrath and Greed

"No!"

A Dragonkin see woke up in her slept rather disturbed. She was sweating profusely as her heart rate increased rapidly.

"Misha, what is it?"

"Aisha..." The Dragonkin hugged her twin sister tightly as she spoke nervously.

"What did you see, sister?"

"They have arrived... The men in green have arrived. They are filled with... rage and fury, slaughtering those who stand in their way! Even dragons cannot stand against them! Then, I saw them build fortresses and devouring the land like a plague! Oh gods! Why does this have to happen?"

Aisha tried to comfort Misha's sobbing but a guard hired by slave traders suddenly approached them and whipped them.

"Shut up, beastwomen! You are not allowed to talk when you are not asked!

Aisha angrily hissed but Misha calmed her down as she shook her head.

"Good girl. Perhaps, we'll treat you better than your sister by selling you to the aristocrats. Your sister shall be sold to the whore houses to tame her though. Hahahaha!!!!"

The guard then left the Dragonkin twins. While Dragonkins are powerful when they unleash their Draconic forms, Dragonkins cannot do so without their Dragonshards. Dragonshards are the keys that unlock the magical locks imposed upon the last Dragons of the world temporarily. Without the keys, Dragonkins are no more powerful than a human. Without the locks, they will lose all vestiges of humanity and destroy all life with the powers they possess.

Now with the Dragonshards stolen from them, the twins can do nothing but hope and pray. However, it seems that there is only a dark future before them....
