Chapter 2: You don’t love me!
~4-year-old Denny
"No no no no no, what's this?"
"What do you mean?"
"You are supposed to play with me but you are busy studying!"
"Hey! Fuck off to your grandma!"
"I will now run away!"
"I love you too."
"No, you don't!"
Then my little boy walked off with a sack over his shoulder. I followed him to see how far he would go.
Eventually, he stopped walking after ten minutes and looked around; found himself a rock to sit behind and started crying.
I picked him up and held him in my arms, "Baby what's wrong?"
"You don't love me!"
"I do baby, it's just that your mama's exams are coming up and if I don't study then I can't buy you food."
Pouting, he hugged me and we tracked back our steps home.
