Chapter 23: Shattered x Mended

Sometimes I wonder if shattered glass can ever be mended,

The only thing I can do is admire the ones that are merely dented.

I envy them - the ones that I can see my own reflection in,

But then I dismay at the reflection of an unworthy kin.

You came into my life that mysterious night,

Cheered up every tear I cried.

Gave me a new purpose in life,

But years to come only a sharpened knife.

Never really thought I could be healed, even just partially,

The roller coaster going up and down, unable to flee.

Lately the glass I thought had mended, reflections able to see.

Only revealed the same thing, fragments of a shattered me.
