===============================

As a teacher of ecology, Quinn doesn't give lessons every day. When there is no class, he will go to the library to borrow books related to Pokémon, and then read in his dormitory.

While he reads, Cramorant would just stand by his side and accompany him, occasionally using his mouth to tidy up the feathers on his body, or just staring off in the distance.

Quinn doesn't know what other Cramorants are like, but his Cramorant, he will watch over Quinn until night. Then he falls asleep, only then does he put down his book to go to bed.

This gave Quinn a similar sensation to raising a cat. He had a cat in his previous life, and that cat would lie on his laptop when he tried working on it... After he started working, the cat was much older, but he still kept this habit. And the cat would crawl on the keyboard while he was working on the computer. Quinn couldn't count how many Pokémon were ruined even if you asked him to.

Later, the cat died of old age, and Quinn buried it and its favorite treats under the tree in his yard, and was depressed for awhile afterwards.

Quinn scratched Cramorant's chin, turned off the lamp, and carried the dopey bird to bed. He then went to wash up, and returned to his room to sleep. Cramorant opened his eyes after hearing him, still with that sluggish look- but after seeing that it was his trainer, he closed his eyes again.

Along with Cramorant, Quinn quickly learning about different knowledge in this world. Going from thirty years to ten, it not only changed his appearance, but also restored his memory to its former peak.

When he had first crossed, his goal was just to find a job that could fill his stomach. Now, his goal was to see the grandeur of the Pokémon world for himself!

'It's just that before that, I have to save money first...' he thought.

Early the next morning, Quinn received a notice that the school would arrange for the teacher to take the children into the Rustboro Forest for a field observation of Pokémon ecology. As an ecology teacher, he was the first to placed in the line-up of options.

"We have to take so many classes, are there enough teachers?" Quinn was taken aback for a moment, looking at Nishida and other teachers present.

There are wild Pokémon everywhere in the Rustboro Forest. Although there are only 20 students in a class, they can't let a single one of them get hurt- otherwise have to deal with angry parents...

Nishida explained, "Don't worry, we don't let every class go to the forest- only a few classes in the second grade."

'In that case, we should have enough teachers.' Quinn thought. He nodded and reminded, "I'm not a trainer." He doesn't have much fighting ability at the moment.

Nishida just patted his chest and said, "Don't worry, I'm a trainer who participated in the Pokémon League!"

(E/N -- I imagine Usopp's bragging face...)

Quinn heard this and curiously asked, "How did you do?"

The bragging smile on Nishida's face froze for just a moment, then he smiled eagerly, "Of course I did well, who do you think I am!"

"..."

Laughing, Maya who was carrying a hiking bag, came over and said with a smile, "Don't listen to his nonsense, he was eliminated in the preliminary round."

Nishida suddenly deflated like a balloon that wasn't tied and said, "I wasn't that bad..."

"Let's go, the students are ready." Maya said with a bright smile on her face.

The three of them are in charge of the same class. Quinn went downstairs and glanced at the the kids carrying their backpacks- all with excitement and anticipation written on their faces.

If it hadn't known that this was the world of Pokémon, Quinn would have thought they were going for a nature walk. Although this was pretty much the same thing.

"Are you all ready!" Maya asked aloud, standing in front of the more than twenty children.

The kids responded loudly and with a hint of vigor unheard before, "We're ready!"

"Then let's go!" Nishida loudly said.

Quinn walked on the left side of the group, and while walking to the forest he told the students what they need to pay attention while they're there.

For example- if you encounter a Beedrill that is trying to attack you and there are no other Pokémon around, remember to run to the nearest river.

(E/N -- Wonder how he knows that information...)

"Teacher, that sounds really scary..." one of the kids said.

He was a very nice boy who he had taught for a good amount of time. From the usual way they get along, Quinn could feel that he was a boy with a kind attitude towards everything outside.

He nodded and said solemnly, "I'm serious about this. I hope everyone can remember that Pokémon are very tempting to approach, but not all of them are as close to humans as Hoppip and Bellossom."

"Some Pokémon have a strong sense of ownership. When someone encroaches on their territory, they will immediately attack them. Even if you are not malicious, in their eyes, you have threatened them. This is their survival instinct." he said, pausing for a moment. Before saying,

"So, I hope everyone can remember that when you are able to start your journey, remember to protect yourself first, and then go to find your Pokémon companions."

The little boy who said the Beedrill are scary nodded. This was the first time someone said this to him. He took these words to heart. His face was as solemn as a ten year old could, and said, "Thank you, teacher, I will remember this!"

Quinn touched his head. He likes these children a lot.

"Teacher, you are obviously as old as we are, why do you know so much about Beedrill attacks?" Another boy asked from the group.

"That's because I've been attacked by a swarm myself." Quinn continued with a serious face, "When it happened I had accidentally ran into the territory of a Beedrill swarm. I got hit by a poison sting and almost couldn't escape. But suddenly a river appeared in front of me, and I was able to jump in and escape."

"What happened next?" Some other children couldn't help but asking.

"After?" Quinn smiled slightly and said, "I met a kind-hearted Skwovet in the forest. It gave me a pecha berry and helped me detoxify the poison from the Beedrill.

"Awesome!" a young girl said happily.

At sometime during their chat, the group had arrived at the Rustboro Forest without realizing it.

The number of wild Pokémon around began to increase gradually.

Like Weedle, Caterpie, Shroomish, and so on.

At noon, they had stopped and had a picnic in an open clearing.

Quinn came under nearby tree and released the Cramorant from his ball. He then took out the food he prepared from his backpack, and piled it on the blanket they brought.

At this moment, he suddenly felt that something was looking at him.

Quinn paused for a moment, looking around but saw nothing.

"Gah?" Cramorant looked at the surrounding trees blankly.

Quinn thought it wanted to fly away again to catch fish, and immediately stopped him saying, "You can't fly away today."

While speaking, he tore some of the food into pieces, afterward saying, "Here, have some of this."

Behind the tree's canopy where Cramorant was looking, a Ralts leaned against the trunk, and breathed a sigh of relief.

'They almost saw me!' she thought.

Supported by the strong branches, she walked around and curiously looked at the humans below and the food with them...
