Chapter 183: EPISODE 73: Bereavement!***

In that moment of loss, my world is crippled. Light becomes my shadows, with the pain coming and going like waves on frigid sand. Though my mind calls her name, the connection is gone. Who I once treasured is now a memory, a silhouette lingering in the depths of my mind.

I did not mind the gap. I just remain in my seat, looking unto my feet thinking of nothing but Charlotte. Lilith, sounds like a worthy challenge meant to be accepted. Who in the world cares if this is the actions of her daughters? I want them to cry, I want them to feel the pain they've inflicted upon me.

With their mother's blood painted on their hands, they'll surely hate me but at the same time, will feel what I want them to feel. The feeling of loss, the feeling of bereavement. Upon arrival, back at Cerulean City, I walk to the helicopter, staying isolated from Virgo. I did not dare to speak, nor did I even greet my pilot.

"What's wrong with her?" Xeryll questions to Virgo after seeing me being ignorant as I step inside the plane.

"She's having a hard time coping with things. Just don't talk to her for a moment. As for Charlotte... she, she's gone." Virgo replies, whispering to the pilot's ears. Xeryll decides not to ask further questions. She decides to become silent as she drives the helicopter back to the island.

There is no point of scouring for her body since the train is wrecked, and the clouds are thick but somehow the twins were brave enough to glide amidst such thickness with only goggles serving as the protection of their eyes.

"L... Luna." Virgo tries to talk, in hopes of comforting me. I respond the usual way I responded to the pilot. Ignorance.

After reaching the tower, the executives and the professor greets me upon stepping unto the helicopter pad. I reply back with a smile that quickly turned into a frown after greeting them. I continue my way to the indoors.

"What's wrong with her? Where's Charlotte?" The professor asks Virgo.

"Charlotte is gone. Our train was attacked by the twins belonging to the society thus they technically killed Charlotte. As for the mirage, we were so close, success was even in our grasps, but it only lasted for minutes. No more, the mirage is with the opponent, therefore Team Rocket is in a tight spot.

They've acquired two mirages, and only one remains. The third, Moltres. Please don't scold Luna, she did her best to defend the mirage." Virgo explains, even standing up for me. The executives and the professor are speechless from what they've heard. No emotion is present in them at all.

"Another agent has fallen." The professor sighs.

The day turns into gloom and I sit on the chair with a desk in front of me. I stare to the window, watching the raindrop. Not trying to be a pluviophile but I do enjoy the rainy weather sometimes. It is when it rains when I can cry comfortably for no one will be there to see my tears. They have blended completely.

On the other hand, Virgo remains silent on our bed, not minding to annoy or even talk to me. She is aware of my emotions thus she remains silent. She reads her novels, another day, another stack, however, the more she reads the more distracted she becomes. A part of her wanted to comfort me and the other wanted to keep silent. If I've never met Virgo, I'd be friendless except for my friend on the other side.

I remember the memories I had with her. The fun and laughter, I could still hear it. Her voice echoes to my ears. I never knew the orange juice was the last thing Charlotte would be giving to me, coincidentally. If only I knew about the future, like Celebi. Or perhaps I could just live in the past, teleporting back in time and killing whoever I am in that current time period. In short, I'd be replacing myself but that seems like a trigger for ripping off the space-time continuum.

"Virgo, this is too much for me to handle, I will be having a walk for the meantime," I say, standing up from my chair and walking outside the door.

"Why? It is raining outside. You might catch a fever."

"Only momentarily. I'll be back right away."

"Just don't do anything absurd. You know what I mean." Virgo bids and tilts her head back to the words written in her novels.

"I know." I murmur, muttering my words softly.

The island is obviously surrounded by water, thus I wish to spend some time alone, away from everybody. Despite the rain, I wish to go out, after all, I and the rain are friends during these kinds of times. We both shed water, we both experience bereavement.

On my way out, I've heard from the executives, Charlotte's name has been removed from the Team Rocket archives, meaning she is not of this organization anymore for she is deceased. Just like Xavier, her family is nowhere to be found, and a patrol squad was sent to look for the body however they returned empty-handed. Charlotte's body is gone, perhaps covered in the flakes of snow, and will soon be part of it.
