Chapter 231: Caught the young girl

Kanraku attempted to de-escalate the rapidly intensifying situation. "Everyone, let's not escalate this. We're not here to cause trouble with anyone. Can we perhaps talk this out peacefully—" His words, however, fell on deaf ears as the group of Vigoroth, fueled by their agitation, launched an attack.

The air was filled with their aggressive calls:

"Vigor~"

"Vigoroth~"

"Vigo-roth!"

Floyd, sensing the immediate danger, sprang into action. "Dratini, use Protect!" he commanded, as he deftly released four Pokéballs.

"Fraxure, Goomy, Growlithe, Snorlax, come out!" The Pokémon appeared in a burst of energy, ready for battle.

"Fraxure~"

"Goo~"

"Awrrrr~"

"Snorlax~"

"Fraxure, shield with Protect! Growlithe, use a Flame Wheel! Goomy, unleash a Water Pulse! Snorlax, roll out with Rollout!" Floyd ordered. He had summoned his strongest Pokémon, except for Gyarados, which he avoided calling out due to its size and the potential commotion it could cause.

Jonathan, not far behind, quickly responded. "Geodude, use Protect," he ordered, then released another Pokémon. "Growlithe, come out!"

Xiao Yun followed suit, calling out his remaining two Pokémon with urgency. "Wartortle, Butterfree, come out! Wartortle, use Rapid Spin! Butterfree, spread Stun Spore!" He then turned to his Growlithe. "Growlithe, use Ember!" he commanded.

"Wartortle~"

"Free~"

"Awrrrrrr~"

The Pokémon acknowledged the commands and executed their respective moves with precision.

"Poliwag, Wartortle, come out! Use Water Gun!" Thuan commanded, releasing his two Pokémon into the fray.

Linh also joined the growing Pokémon assembly. "Hitmonlee, two Mankeys, Machop, come out! Use Low Kick," he instructed as his four Pokémon sprang into action.

"Growlithe, Raticate, two Rattatas, three Butterfrees, Meowth, come out," Park Taeyang commanded as he released his Pokémon.

"Growlithe, use Ember. Raticate and Rattatas, use Quick Attack. Butterfrees, use Gust. Meowth, use Scratch."

"Awrrrr!"

"Raticate~"

"Rattata~" *2

"Free~"

"Meowth~"

"Everyone, be careful and stay behind me," Kanraku instructed the five villagers, trying to ensure their safety. He then released his partner. "Blastoise, come out!"

"Blastoise~" Blastoise appeared with a resounding cry.

"Please protect us, Blastoise," Kanraku implored.

"Blastoise," it responded, nodding in understanding and vigilance as it surveyed the battlefield.

The ensuing clash was chaotic, sending shockwaves through the area. The impact was so intense that several Pokémon lurking in the nearby underbrush scampered away in fear. Many flying-type Pokémon took to the skies, eager to distance themselves from the commotion.

"Sudo~"

"Bonsly~"

"Shroomish~"

A group of Sudowoodo, Bonsly, and Shroomish carefully watched from a distance, as the fight was near their territory. However, they didn't dare appear, intimidated by both the humans and the Vigoroth.

BANG!

The initial collision was impactful, causing the group of Vigoroth to recoil from the sheer force. They couldn't comprehend why this assembly of Pokémon had suddenly appeared, but it only served to fuel their rage.

Without hesitation, they regrouped and charged again, undeterred.

Kanraku, amidst the chaos, attempted once more to diffuse the situation. "Everyone, please, we're not here to make trouble," he pleaded. But his words were lost in the tumult of battle, as the Vigoroth, driven by instinct and anger, refused to listen.

Floyd, sensing the futility of their current approach, decisively changed tactics. "It's no use," shaking his head in frustration. "This time, we take the offensive. Dratini, paralyze them with Thunder Wave. Fraxure, sweep them with Breaking Swipe. Snorlax, use Rollout. Growlithe, use Flame Wheel. Goomy, bombard with Water Pulse."

"Ehew~"

"Fraxure~"

"Snorlax~"

"Awrrrrr"

"Goo~"

Jonathan, observing the escalating situation, prepared his Pokémon for a renewed assault. "Geodude, Growlithe, we're not backing down this time," he instructed firmly.

Xiao Yun, determined to contribute, also rallied his Pokémon. "Growlithe, Butterfree, Wartortle, it's our turn to attack," he said with resolve.

Soon, the air was filled with commands as everyone urged their Pokémon into battle.

BANG!

The collision was impactful on both sides. The Vigoroth, despite being suppressed once again, displayed a remarkable stubbornness, refusing to back down. Their resilience was evident, but it was clear they were struggling – the repeated clashes had taken their toll, leaving them with mounting injuries.

However, this only seemed to fuel their rage, spurring them to continue their relentless charge.

Amidst the chaos, the young girl watched in growing desperation as the Vigoroth's situation worsened. Her concern for them was palpable.

"Bigo, Bigo, Bigoroth!" she called out, her voice laced with worry.

However, her pleas fell on deaf ears. The Vigoroth, driven by their unyielding nature, ignored her calls and continued their onslaught, even though they were clearly overpowered.

Seeing her efforts go in vain, the girl felt a surge of helplessness and anger towards humans. Unlike the single-minded Vigoroth, she was more perceptive, recognizing the direness of the situation.

With a heavy sigh of desperation mixed with anger, she too decided to join the fray. "Bigo~" With a nimble maneuver, she lurked behind the lines, searching for an opportunity. Spotting a target, she leapt high, launching an attack on one of the humans.

Floyd, suddenly aware of an incoming threat, turned just in time to see the young girl rushing toward him. Reacting swiftly, he raised his arm in defense.

"Ha!" The girl managed to scratch Floyd's arm. Floyd raised his eyebrows in surprise – the scratch, though not painful, was sharp enough to leave visible marks. He then quickly grasped the girl's left arm with his left hand, lifting her off the ground.

The girl, now suspended in Floyd's grip, struggled fiercely.

"Bigo, Bigo, Bigoroth~" she chanted, struggling in his hold, kicking out with her feet in a futile attempt to free herself.

Floyd observed the young girl with a mixture of curiosity and concern. Her appearance was strikingly unkempt; her face smeared with grime, her body exuding an unmistakable odor indicative of many days without bathing. Despite her disheveled state, it was clear to Floyd that she was a human.

"What are you doing in a forest as dangerous as this?" Floyd inquired with some confusion in his tone.

The girl, still struggling in his grasp, gasped for breath, her words incomprehensible to Floyd.

"Bigo, bigo, bigoroth~" she uttered repeatedly, but Floyd couldn't decipher her language.

Kanraku, however, seemed to understand something from her random utterances. "Did she just say 'Let go of me'?" he asked, a hint of confusion in his voice.

Meanwhile, the surrounding Vigoroth, noticing the young girl capture, ceased their attack. Their expressions shifted from aggression to concern as they growled and grunted, seemingly issuing threats and warnings to the group.

"Vigoroth~"

"Vigo~"

"Vigo-roth~"

Kanraku, tapping into his unique ability to understand Pokémon, looked perplexed. "Let go of their sister? Is that what they're trying to communicate? And who could their sister be?" He suddenly turned his attention to the young girl. "Are you their sister?" he called out to the Vigoroth, seeking confirmation.

The girl continued to struggle against Floyd's firm hold, her cries of "Bigo~ Bigoroth~" growing more frantic.

And his guess was correct. Seeing the girl in front, the Vigoroth halted its charge and continued to shout angrily at Floyd, "Vigo~ Vigoroth~"

Kanraku quickly intervened, "Floyd, they're saying to release their sister. This child must be the one they're referring to."

Floyd, with a knowing smile, replied, "I suspected as much. There is indeed a connection between them."

In her desperation, the young girl, feeling trapped and helpless, bit down on Floyd's arm. But her action backfired painfully as one of her teeth broke, clattering to the ground. The sensation was akin to biting into stone.

Blood began to trickle from her mouth, and the sudden pain overwhelmed her. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she cried out in agony.

"Wahhhhhh! Bigo~ Bigo~ Wahhhhh!" Her sobs were loud and heart-wrenching as she continued to writhe in an attempt to escape Floyd's grip.

The Vigoroth, witnessing the girl's distress, grew increasingly agitated, their calls of concern echoing through the forest:

"Vigo~ Vigo~"

"Vigoroth~"

"Vigo~"

The group of Vigoroth reacted with visible panic upon hearing the young girl's piercing cries. Their shouts, loud and full of emotion, were directed angrily at Floyd.

"They're asking what we want in exchange for her release," Kanraku interpreted for Floyd, trying to bring some clarity to the tumultuous situation.

Jonathan, grappling with the unfolding events, sought confirmation. "So, this young girl and these Pokémon have some kind of relationship?" he inquired, his tone laced with disbelief.

Xiao Yun, piecing together the information, added, "It seems they consider her their sister."

Jonathan, taken aback, expressed his incredulity. "Impossible! How can humans and Pokémon be siblings?" he questioned, finding it hard to accept such an unusual bond.

Thuan, pondering the possibilities, voiced a thought. "Could it be possible? This Pokémon resembles a baboon or monkey. Historically, it's said that we also came from them," he speculated, though he wasn't sure himself.

"Maybe adopted?" Linh interjected.

"Yeah, being adopted is more reasonable. But it is shocking if it's true. A wild Pokémon adopting a human and not harming her?" Park Taeyang said, slightly bewildered.

Amidst these exchanges, Floyd, seemingly unfazed by the girl's cries, shifted his attention to the Vigoroth. With a calculated smile, he proposed, "Now, can we talk properly?"

Meanwhile, deep within the forest, a bulky, ape-like bipedal creature was nestled. It was mostly covered in shaggy, brown fur. The distinctive semi-circle patterns under its eyes, along with its face, chest, hands, and feet, were a lighter hue. Its brows were thick and prominent, and its large, pink, pig-like nose was unmistakable. A white collar of fur encircled its neck, extending over the top of its head and culminating in a small tuft.

It's the Slaking.

The Slaking lay in a deep slumber, its imposing form at rest. However, the distant echo of the girl's cries pierced the tranquility of its slumber.

Its eyes snapped open, alert and wide. With a sudden movement, the Slaking rose to its full height and let out a thunderous roar, "ROAR!"

Propelled by an unknown urgency, the Slaking began to move, its massive form barreling through the forest with surprising speed, heading towards the source of the cries.
