Chapter 8: Technical Machine
Ash, Misty and Leaf have arrived at Pewter City. Ash wasn't in a hurry to challenge the gym. He need train Leaf and her pokemons, so they can win the boulder badge.
For that to happen, Leaf and her pokemon need to learn new moves.
Unlike Ash's pokemon, no matter how hard Leaf train her pokemon they couldn't learn new moves, well, there are exceptions that are exclusive to the pokemon. The only way for Leaf and her pokemons to learn new moves is by using Technical Machine, TM for short.
Ash learned that the Round thingy was the source of his pokemon's learning new moves that can only be learnt by using TM. There's also possibility that his pokemon will also learn Technical Records and Hidden Machine.
It was not a surprise that Ash was dumbfounded after finding that.
Before they go to Pokemon Center, Ash and his companions stop at Silph co. to get some moves. He remembered that Silph co. is famous for their technologies that can greatly help pokemons. It was no means a surprise that Silph co. has produced a Master ball that has 100% capture rate.
He also remembered that Giovanni the head of Team Rocket coveted the corporation in order to get his hands on Master Ball. Ash knew he should stop the villainous old guy from succeeding, or else it would be really bad.
He could imagine that Old guy would do anything just to get his hands on legendary pokemons.
However, Ash knew he was still incredibly weak to face Team Rocket alone.
As the trio walked inside the building they were greeted by a beautiful receptionist.
"Hello there, What can I do for you?" She has a wide professional smile.
"Hi, we want to get our pokemons some new moves. Do you have Technical Machine in here?" Ash calmly replied.
"Yes, we do have what you're looking for. You can pick moves that are available to your pokemon. The cost will depend on the rarity and rank. The minimum price would be 1000 poke dollars." The lady answered Ash.
"That much!?" Leaf and Misty was shocked.
"Yes, as you know pokemon moves is not easy to learn, most of the Pokemon trainers couldn't teach their pokemon the move they wanted for their pokemon to learn by just pure hard work alone. Though, I won't say it's impossible since there are exceptions out there. Because, like humans, pokemons also possess talents. However, for those majority, we Silph co. can help those trainers teach their pokemons new moves by using Technical Machine we invented." The lady calmly explained to the shocked girls.
Ash stayed silent. The price was reasonable, after all, the corporation could have make it expensive that most people cannot afford.
Misty and Leaf listened to the lady attentively and was amazed that how amazing this corporation is. Ash watch the scene by the side and waited for the lady receptionist to finish explaining.
Once she was done. Despite all the information she spouted, the lady remained smiling, clearly used to her job. Ash complimented her in his mind.
"Misty do you also want to buy new moves for your pokemon?" Ash asked Misty.
"But I don't have that much money." Misty said sadly to him.
"If you want you can buy three or four moves. I'll pay." Ash look at her and said without hesitation. As for where the money came from, don't ask.
"Leaf you also pick four moves." He added.
"Ash where did you get that money?" Leaf was confused. She didn't know Ash has a lot of money.
"Don't ask, just buy. Just so you know, I didn't do any shady things. Officer Jenny gave me a lot of money." Ash answered her.
"Oh, I see. How could I forget about that." Leaf comically bump her head with her fist. She stuck out her tongue and winked. Ash, Misty and The lady receptionist chuckles.
Ash didn't buy anything. He was confident he could beat the gym leader, Brock.
Leaf bought a total of five moves, She payed the last one, Ash wanted to pay for it but she insisted. Her bulbasaur learned three moves; Magical Leaf, Giga Drain and Venoshock.
Then her Pidgey learned; Substitute and Reflect.
Ash speculate she wouldn't lost easily. She picked her moves wisely. Her bulbasaur alone is pretty much terrifying. She can use Poison Powder and Venoshock, doubling the poison damage. If her bulbasaur received a hit, she could use Giga Drain to absorb half of the damage to heal. Furthermore, Magical leaf cannot be dodge. Ash was worried about her being disadvantage but it seems he didn't need to.
Her Pidgey on the other hand can be annoying. With Substitute, pidgey can create a clone to receive the hit, making the opponent let their guard down. With reflect Pidgey can reflect the damage to the opponent.
As for Misty, she chooses; Ice punch and Brick Break for Poliwhirl. Thunderwave for Staryu and Smart strike for Goldeen.
Ash smile wryly. That means, she became more stronger. Ash was raising his next opponent. Shaking his head, he need to train harder.
The trio left Silph co. and proceed to Pokemon center. They we're greeted by another Nurse Joy. If it was Ash in the past, He would be shocked to see another Nurse Joy. Now he just replied to Nurse Joy heartfelt welcome with courtesy.
However, It doesn't meant no know will react. Leaf was shocked to see another Nurse Joy. He grabbed Ash's shoulder and asked him.
"Hey Ash, Why is she her? Isn't she in Viridian City?" She whispered next to his ear.
Ash look at her with a smile. "Yesn't, She's not Nurse Joy but she's also Nurse Joy."
Leaf became even more confused. She pinch Ash's shoulder and harrumphed. "Don't beat around the bush Ash, just tell me already."
"Ouch." Ash cried out of pain."Okay Okay, stop pinching me."
"Hmph! you deserved that." Leaf crossed her arms.
"Well, let's ask her to find out." Ash continued. He approached Nurse Joy who was smiling at them. She found the three young ones, cute. "Hello, my friend here asked me if you were the Nurse Joy we met at Viridian City."
Ash gets another pinch from Leaf, but this time it didn't hurt him. She glared at him with slight blush on her cheeks and whispered. "Don't accuse me."
Misty was watching Leaf being embarrassed and chuckles. She knew about Nurse Joy, she was also like Leaf in the past. She remained silent and just lean on Ash's shoulder. She felt comfortable next to him. She didn't know why but it gave her a sense of security just by next to him.
Nurse Joy chuckles and starts to explain. "The Nurse Joy you met in Viridian City is my Older Sister. Joy isn't our name but our family name....."
Leaf listened to Nurse Joy attentively and was immersed by the story Nurse Joy recited. After a whole half an hour listening a part of her Family tradition. She finally finished as she saw them look quite exhausted and also a long line forming at the back. Fortunately, the people who formed a line was also listening to her and didn't cause commotion, It appears the people was also curious why there is so many Nurse Joys all over the world.
She then handled things calmly. The trio took out their pokeballs to let them rest and gave it to Nurse Joy. Only Pikachu was an exception, he didn't want to rest in his pokeball. They took one room with a large bed.
Nurse Joy gave Ash a look. Ash sighed. Why do people easily misunderstand him.
Well, Ash people would mistake you for a playboy when two girls are clinging at you, intimately. You might not be dense when it comes to the girls feeling but you're dense enough when it comes to judgement.
The trio got into their room.

While the trio was in their room. Another Trio was in Viridian forest getting chased by Beedrills because a certain, Meowth manage to provoke the swarm by bullying a poor Weedle.
Coincidentally, a Beedrill scout caught him in act. The scout call out for reinforcement.
The Trio wanted to create a trap for Ash and his companions but at the end of the day the trap they set backfires to them.

Ash sat up on the bed as he listened to the sound of bird pokemons singing as the light of the day rise up. He stretch his arms upwards as he look at Leaf's unblinking eyes.
"Good morning Ash." Leaf said softly.
"Good morning Leaf." Ash replied.
*RING*
Misty sat up, her eyes was still half closed.
"Good morning Misty." Ash and Leaf greeted her.
"Ah, Good morning you two." Misty responded lazily with drool on her lips.
The same morning as usual. Ash and Leaf both chuckles from their friend's action.
"Leaf are you ready?" Ash asked Leaf.
"Yeah. but Ash, are you sure you want me to challenge the gym leader first?"
"Yeah, I'm sure." Ash said with confidence.
"Thanks Ash." Leaf said.
"No problem." Ash nodded.
Misty lazily listened to their conversation as she was still very sleepy. She wanted to complain why would they wake up early. Instead of voicing out her complain, she stood up and prepare to take a bath.
Misty knew not to ask. She remembered that day when she couldn't handle it anymore and complained. Ash and Leaf both gave her a sermon. Saying, it's unhealthy and she wouldn't grow up fast. Now that Leaf mention it, Leaf's breast is bigger than hers.
She remembers her sisters would always brag about that a woman's charm is their breast. She patted her breast, it's not big but not flat either, but Leaf is bigger. Misty's eyes burns with resolved, she doesn't want to lose.
However what Misty did not take into consideration that they are still 11 years old. There are still plenty of time and room for them to grow. She didn't even know that girls in her age were mostly flat. Leaf is just special.
As they said Love can result growth spurt.
Leaf was oblivious that someone close to her would make her a rival without her knowing. Though, the reason is a bit silly.
After taking a morning bath. The trio took their pokemons from Nurse Joy and left the Pokemon Center to eat breakfast.
Because of how clingy the girls were. The trio attracted too much attention. The boys were crying blood from their eyes. Some were ripping their clothes in frustration. Cursing Ash for his luck even though he is just a kid.
The girls was curious of Ash. Ash looks was above average. He wasn't ugly, not ordinary and not necessarily handsome. However, the girl's still find him attractive.
If Gary was here he would have stunned to see Ash right now. He wouldn't think that the Ash he knew was also playboy like him.
After eating their breakfast. The trio proceed to the gym.
Leaving Ash a question. 'Where did Brock's Father go?'
Ash knew that in canon, they should've meet Brock's father, Flint, selling rocks. But they didn't meet him. Ash was left confused.
