Chapter 79: Back at the Dojo
"Indeed. There's not much to do in this division. You just have to train your pokemon, explore the world, uncover mysteries and more" Giovanni said with a smile.
Looking at Corin's confused expression, Giovanni laughed as he stood up while patting Persian's head.
"In this division, you'll live like a normal person, away from Team Rocket's influence.. on the surface, that is" Giovanni added.
The corners of Corin's eyes lit up when he heard the last part of Giovanni's words. He understood what it meant.
"Does that mean that I'm allowed to join the alliance?" Corin asked as he looked at Giovanni's figure.
"You have the potential. It will only be a matter of time before the alliance notices your talents. They'll surely investigate your origins as well as how you started out as a trainer. Once they do, suspicions about your connections to Team Rocket will arise" Giovanni replied as he looked at Corin's figure.
Sweat started to flow through Corin's face when he heard Giovanni's words. He can live within Team Rocket but he doesn't want to be bound by Team Rocket forever.
If the alliance finds out about his identity as a Team Rocket member, he'll be a wanted man. He'll be sent to rehabilitation centers while his pokemon will be confiscated.
He can endure being sent to rehabilitation centers but he can't part with his pokemon. Although Crobat was only given to him by Team Rocket, his friendship with it is real. His Kirlia, as well as Hitmonlee, they grew on him as well.
His only choice would be Team Rocket but that would mean that he can't get out of Team Rocket.
Giovanni must have noticed his talent and immediately transferred him to the Special Divisions to avoid suspicions from the alliance.
"A talent of your caliber doesn't belong in the shadows. The Special Division is where you will shine. You don't have to do the regular Team Rocket missions. You just have to go on with your journey" Giovanni added as the smile on his face slowly disappeared.
"But there's one thing you always have to remember. The moment you join this organization, there's no breaking away from it. Don't forget your roots. Team Rocket can give you everything... but Team rocket can take it all away from you" Giovanni warned as the atmosphere suddenly turned cold.
Corin's expression stiffened for a moment but he quickly composed himself and replied with a stern voice "Yes sir!"
"Tomorrow, you will be notified of your new background. You are dismissed" Giovanni said as the corners of his lips curled up to a terrifying smile.
Corin then walked back and stepped into the teleporter circle as his figure disappeared from the room.

Meanwhile, the trio just arrived at Saffron city and went to the Pokemon Center to have their pokemon checked. Shortly afterwards, Chelsea went to the PokeMart with Farlan accompanying her while Folker went to the Dojo to check out with his fellow Dojo members.
"Folker! Welcome back to the Dojo. Are you ready to challenge the master now?" Randy, one of the black belters of the ojo greeted Folker with a smile.
"It's been a while senior Randy, and yes indeed. I'm here to challenge the Karate Master while at the same time, check out familiar faces" Folker replied as he waved his right hand.
"Well, it's a sight to watch. Goodluck, young man" Randy said as he sighed.
Folker continued walking as he made his way to the training field and met with a few familiar faces. They greeted him as he greeted them back with a smile and chatted with them for a while.
He then made his way to the Karate Master's room and met the Karate Master.
"Welcome back, young Folker. I see that you weren't slacking off on your training. How's your journey going on so far?" the Karate Master said with a faint smile as he sized up Folker.
"Greetings, Master. Personal fitness is important, otherwise, I'd be too embarrassed to train my pokemon without me leading them in hard work. As for my journey, it's going well, I suppose" Folker replied with a slight bow as he clapped his fist against his palm once.
"Now that you came back, I assume you're ready to face me?" the Karate Master said as his smile turned into a smirk.
Folker recalled the words he said before he left the Dojo. His lips then curled up as he nodded.
"I don't mean to disrespect you, Master, but I'm here to challenge you to a pokemon battle" Folker said as he steeled his resolve and looked the Karate Master in the eyes.
"Very well. Follow me to the battlefields" the Karate Master nodded as they headed to the battlefields of the Dojo.
When they arrived at the battlefields, the other members of the dojo unexpectedly were already lined up on the sides, ready to spectate their battle. Folker was taken aback when he saw them as if his battle with the Karate Master was already scheduled.
"Who do you think will win?" a black belter with spiky hair said.
"No idea. The Karate Master is strong but you can't dismiss Folker's talent as well. I heard that he already has two official badges. That speaks of his talent as a trainer and as a fighter" another black belter replied.
"Maybe we'll get to see the Karate Master go all out this time"
"I wonder how strong Folker's pokemon have gotten. Also, does he have another pokemon that he caught aside from that Magnemite before he left?"
"They can only get stronger, not weaker"
The other members of the dojo conversed with themselves as they made their own guesses about how the battle would turn out to be.
Folker and the Karate Master went to their respective corners as they faced off against each other.
"We will now begin the battle between the Karate Master of the Saffron city Dojo vs Folker from Vermillion City. Each trainer will use three pokemon. Only the challenger will be allowed to make substitutions. Begin!" the referee announced the start of the battle.
