Modern day Planet Thea, booming with innovations and technologies. Narza academy, one of the most elite and prestigious colleges in the country of Qumar. Boys' hostel, fourth floor, room no 454, Alex Xavier is preparing to go outside for his part time job.
There are only two types of people who get into the Narza academy. Either the one who is born with a silver spoon in their mouth or geniuses. Alex is of course the latter. Alex was a top scorer in the entrance exam conducted by the Narza academy. As a result he was granted a full time scholarship by the academy too which covers all his expenses.
His roommates come from rich and powerful backgrounds. While his roommates were busy partying at nearby nightclubs with hot girls Alex was either studying hard or doing part time jobs to support his family of three. His rich and powerful roommates always looked down on him and avoided him like a plague because of his low social status. But none of it affected Alex because he was always a loner.
As usual Alex was preparing to go out for his part time job. Suddenly something unexpected happened. A rumbling sound began to spread all over the planet.

Following the rumbling voice a message began to play out on the entire planet.
"Civilians of the mortal world.....This is an emergency broadcast from the 'realm of gods'. Mortal realm has always been under the protection of the 'realm of gods'. A little while ago 'realm of gods' fell under the might of the demonic army. Each and every god including the 'King of all gods' - Psion has been slaughtered mercilessly. In exactly 5 years the demonic army will invade the mortal realm. In order to prepare humans for the final war of their own survival, gods have commenced a 'forced evolution' procedure on planet Thea before their own demise. As a final gift a 'status window' will be provided to humans in order to monitor their own progress. Only humans can save themselves now. Everyone...good luck."
People all over the world were surprised and shocked to hear the message. Alex was not an exception either. But nobody got any chance to collect their thoughts. The message was soon followed by a high pitch shrilling voice. It pierced deep into everyone's ear.
SSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL...…
Alex covered both of his ears, unable to withstand the piercing noise. A few seconds passed by. Eventually the noise died down. Alex slowly removed his hands from his ears. But what greeted him was an even more deafening sound. His room was filled with cries of pain and screams of fear.
Alex was startled by a moment. He could hear the desperate cries of people coming from his nearby rooms and also from the ground outside the hostel. He did not have the courage to open the door so he slowly walked towards the window in order to figure out what was going outside.
What Alex saw shook his entire core. Humanoid-like creatures chasing after humans. Some humans were being eaten alive by these humanoid-like creatures, some turned into one after being bitten by it, while some kept on running away from it. It was literal hell down there. Alex suddenly remembered something. He took his cell phone from his pocket and dialed home. But unfortunately there was no reception. He continued several times but the result was always the same. Finally he stopped when he heard a sound coming from his behind.
"There is no use trying. No matter how hard you try, the result will always be the same. Mana seeping into Planet Thea is messing with all the electromagnetic radiation. So you won't be able to use your little cell phone."
Hearing the unexpected voice of a young lady from behind Alex suddenly turned back. He was stunned for a second by what he saw. He saw a young lady of late 20s in white dress levitating mid air with wings protruding from her back. There was a golden halo floating above her head. Her beauty even wins over the 'golden ratio'. With her appearance alone one could easily guess she was an angel descended from the heavens.
"Who.....are.....you...…?How….did…..you…get….behind…me?" Alex asked in a stuttering voice. Regardless of whether one is an angel or demon if one sneaks behind you anyone will be afraid and so does Alex.
The 'floating young lady' casted a spell on Alex. Alex began to bask in a golden light.
"No need to be afraid. I have casted a spell on you to calm your nerves. I am not your enemy. You can call me Ameya and I was the personal servant of Master Psion."
As soon as Ameya mentioned the name of Psion a deep sigh escaped her mouth. For a moment she became lost in her thoughts. Her expression resembled that of sadness, pain and anger. After a few seconds of silence she continued.
"Have you heard about the story of Augustus Theodore?"
"Yes, of course. It is a popular myth in this country." Alex replied
"Then you might have also heard about his last wash which is yet to be granted." Ameya asked.
"Yes. Something like passing onto his legacy to the most worthy human. Am I right?" Alex replied.
"Yes, you are right." After saying that Ameya took a 'book' from her dimensional storage ring and pointing towards it she continued.
"The myth is real. This is the book, legacy passed on by the almighty king Augustus Theodore. The source of all his power. According to the wish granted by Master Psion I am passing this book onto its rightful owner. You have become worthy to carry the almighty king's legacy."
"So….the myth is real. Are you sure I am worthy enough to possess such power? I am not even a royal blood." Alex asked in a confused and calm manner. He was still under the spell Ameya casted before. If not Alex would have freaked out by all the information dump.
"A man's worthiness is not measured based on such measly matters. I have looked into your past, not just this life but all your previous reincarnations. I must say, I am pretty much impressed." Ameya said in a praiseworthy voice.
"Reincarnations….previous lives…..You are praising me for things that I don't even remember doing." Alex said.
"Then how about this life? I have looked into your past. You have stood up against 'that evil man' until you were on the verge of death. You have saved two souls unrelated to you by blood and that too at such a young age. Even now you are sacrificing your talent and time for them. A totally selfless man. If you are not worthy then who is?" Ameya said in a proudful tone.
"Ameya...past is past for a reason. Even if you are 'King of gods' itself nobody would appreciate it if you carelessly mentioned their past. From your perspective what I have done may be a valiant thing but for me it is still a scar that is yet to fade. I still regret those moments even now. I still regret it. I held back my punch at the last moment because of our relationship. I should have killed 'that man' back then. I should have killed him for the safety of my twins."
A rage beyond any reasoning began to form on Alex's face. Alex slowly began to break free from the spell casted by Ameya. Ameya noticed this and she was strangely surprised by the hatred Alex harbored for 'that man'. It even almost broke her spell which was utterly impossible for any mortals to do so.
"So…..Will you accept his legacy?." Seeing Alex's agitated face, Ameya suddenly changed the topic.
"What happens if I don't?" Alex replied with another question.
"The wish granted by Master Psion was to hand this skill book over to the most worthy human when the entire civilization is in danger and to guide them through it. If the most worthy man won't accept this book then no one else is worthy enough. It is either you or none." Ameya said.
"If that is the case I will accept it. But will it really help to defeat the demons in 5 years. Even the entire gods failed to stop the demons. How can we mere mortals compete against demons in 5 years?" Alex asked in a doubtful tone.
"Good question, In order to beat the demons who defeated the gods you need to become at least the rank of a deity. It will not be an easy journey. Ever since the beginning of the universe nobody ever managed to become a deity. Not even Master Psion. He was only a 'half-deity'. He hasn't completely broken through the rank of deity." Ameya said.
"Well…..that is very reassuring….How can any humans achieve it in 5 years what gods could not do for millions of years?" Alex said in a mocking tone.
"Be grateful that you got 5 years. Master Psion gave up his life for those five years. Demons were trying to invade into the mortal realm through the transportation gate. But at the last moment Master Psion used all his strength to destroy the gate. It will take only a little time in the 'realm of gods' to repair the gate. But due to the vast difference in time between the two realms, you mortals have gained at least 5 years. Be grateful for that." Ameya said in a slightly angry voice.
"I didn't mean to anger you. I am sorry…" Alex said in an apologetical tone.
"Whatever.....Now take this book, close your eyes and place it on your forehead." Ameya said to Alex by handing over the skill book.
Alex took the book and did as Ameya told. For a few seconds nothing unexpected happened. For a moment Alex even thought of it as a prank but soon something really did happen. Information regarding the book began to pour into his mind.
