Chapter 11: She found someone else that was not him

Inside the car,

Genesis put on her seatbelt and so did Aiden."Where are you taking me?" She asked. Aiden inserted the key inside the car and started driving away."Somewhere." He answered. Genesis stopped herself from rolling her eyes and instead turned her attention towards the beautiful houses displayed for her outside the window.

Aiden turned to look at her. And then focused back on the road. He thought of different strategies to approach her. He went through the list he had memories earlier this morning.

This morning he received an email from his brother…..

Subject: Your depressing love life

Here are some steps to help your depressing love life.

1. Be shameless but not too shameless

2. Skin contact is a must but it depends on the stage you are in.

3. Give her attention but not too much, ignoring her once in a while works

4. Compliment her

5. When she questions your actions play dumb

6. If you see your actions affect her, be clear with her and ultimately confess

7. If she's in a bad mood food works but in Genesis' case cuddling works perfectly.

8. If she refuses to cuddle stick to her like gum

9. Make her take the initiative once in a while

10. You're allowed to throw tantrums but don't exaggerate.

11. Make her jealous. Don't be extreme you might end up losing her.

12. Teasing but don't take it too far.

13. NEVER lie to her. She might just dump you.

14. Take her out and be creative.

15. She is ALWAYS right.

This list has been modified according to her personality. But don't rely on it too much. There are things you must discover on your own.

Here are the stages you should go through.

Friendship------> Trust-------> Mutual attraction = Dating

Make sure she is attracted to you and comfortable in your presence. If she can be herself in front of you then you are ready to confess and start dating.

To get to marriage I cannot help you. That depends on your performance.

Aiden sighed. He felt ridiculous for even thinking about listening to his brother. His brother also has no experience in dating so where did he get that information? But knowing Jason he probably tricked Ethan into telling him all of Genesis dislikes, likes, and habits to create a reasonable list.

He kept driving and fifteen minutes had already passed."We will be there in 30 minutes."He told her. Genesis turned to look at him and nodded. Another 26 minutes passed and when Anna looked out the window she realized something looked familiar.

She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. She looked at the sign and similar road."Isn't this…."

"Mn…" Aiden did not speak so she concluded that she is correct. She squealed in excitement."It's been so long. I almost forgot!" Aiden smiled through the rearview mirror.

Aiden took a turn and they entered a small forest. The road was between the trees and he followed it until they reached a small cabin and lake. The bright sunlight shone through the leaves of the trees and the breeze made a few trees shake causing leaves to fall on the ground.

The scenery was perfect. Despite living in the city the Miller family Residence is located outside the city outskirts. So many family mansions with big chunks of land and perfect soil for planting were located here. Many families live here and two hours away from their current location there are a few forms located not far from each other.

Aiden parked the car and Genesis excitedly got down from it. Aiden turned off the car and closed the door taking the car key with him and placing it in his pocket. He leaned in the car and watched the beautiful woman twirl.

Genesis closed her eyes and let the breeze hit her face, making her hair fall behind her. Genesis turned around to face him with a full smile."Thank you for bringing me here." She ran to his side and hugged his waist."I was thinking that you'll like to come here and remember one of the places you created good memories with your parents before taking over the company again."He explained. Genesis nodded and moved away from him but he pushed her back into his embrace and later wiped her tears away with his thumb.

'So embarrassing' She thought.

"Let me show you something…"He held her hand in his and walked her to the back of the cabin where the lake is.

"Remember when we first met?" He asked. She nodded."Right I was only 16 years old back then. That was the last trip me and my parents took to this place." Genesis said. Aiden nodded and walked her towards where there was a table with a white cloth covering it in the middle.

Genesis gasped."No...Is that what I think it is?" Aiden took the cloth of the table and a diamond-shaped crystal was placed in the middle of the table. The table had an opening in the middle where a tube went through the crystal and the table. This allows the crystal to flip around.

Genesis laughed."You took it seriously?" she asked. Aiden nodded."That summer you said that for your next birthday you'll like to create a beautiful rainbow right here. You said you would make it a tradition for yourself."Aiden explained.

"You would use the lake water and to reflect the bright sunlight...and you would have a diamond crystal rotating around to create the most fascinating rainbow show the world has ever seen. So I took it upon myself to create it for you and have it ready but that summer you never came back…." Aiden continued and flipped the shiny and clean crystal around.

He had called someone to clean it up and earlier this morning, since a few years have already passed and it was not working well.

He looked at his watch as it was already 12 am at the moment so the sun was set in place and the light reflected into the crystal.

Genesis admired the beautiful rainbow. A tear rolled down her cheek. She felt so touched and guilty. That year she was 16 and he was 18. She never thought much about it because it was only their first meeting. After that summer she went back to start her senior year of high school.

That's when he met him..her ex-fiance. They started dating and he took her on a vacation for her birthday the next summer so she never came back. Afterward she got busy going to college. In her last year of college she graduated and he proposed to her. Unfortunately he ended up being a scum and at the same time her parents had a car crash and passed away. She had just started working on SY Industries and after that she completely broke down and committed grave mistakes.

She sat down in a rock and buried her face on her knees. Aiden sighed and sat next to her wrapping his arms around her and bringing her into a hug."Thank you…" She whispered.

She truly felt like he was that ray of sunlight that appeared in her life when she most needed it. She does not know that he felt the same way.

When he met her 16-year-old self, six months after he started working on creating his own company had passed. He was depressed because his company would go bankrupt and he had almost lost hope until he met her that summer. She inspired him and he was determined to succeed and pay her back for her help.

He worked on completing her small wish for her birthday. He wanted to surprise his first love and he was looking forward to where their meeting would take them

He waited only to find out she had already found someone else….
