Chapter 15: The prey and the predator
She remembers the first month she spent working as his assistant. She was once a CEO so of course it was hard to admit working for him. Even though she admires him she has been itching to challenge his accomplishments for a while now.
She then stopped her thoughts and sighed."Can you explain it a bit further? Let's put out our conditions first. Shouldn't we agree on each point of the contract first?" She asked. Aiden nodded.
"That would be for the best."

They entered a conference room filled with chairs. Aiden sat on the chair in one corner and Genesis sat on his side maintaining her distance. She sat down straight and her demeanor turned serious and professional.
She opened the contract but before reading further she turned to him and asked, "Why two months?" Aiden shook his and leaned towards her. He pulled her chair closer to him and pointed at the first sentence inside the contract nonchalantly. Genesis was a bit startled but either way she followed his line of sight.
"You will take your position back in SY as the CEO. By then you'll probably try to run away won't you?" He turned to look at her. Genesis coughed."Anyways continue…"She told him and he nodded.
"It's quite simple you'll just have to be my girlfriend for two months and then marry me."He said it quite bluntly and playfully. Genesis chuckled."Yeah...that's not for sure." She reminded him. He leaned in and pinched her chin.
'Too close….' She thought.
He smirked."I'm quite confident in my capabilities…" He then pulled away and pretended as if nothing happened. Genesis gritted her teeth and started reading.
The contract was quite simple actually. She would have to go on 2-3 dates with him once a week. Keep in touch with him through messages and phone calls. She must allow him to get close to her during these two months. After the two months are over she must tell him how she feels. If she refuses to admit her feelings he has the right to expand the contract for as long as he wants.
"This is not fair…."She commented."You get to expand the contract? Clearly if I don't admit how I feel it's because your charms did not succeed." Aiden raised his eyebrows."Each party's are getting equivalent results. You get to enjoy being charmed by me and I enjoy charming you. It's pretty fair actually." Aiden responded casually.
Genesis frowned."Isn't this a contract for pursuing me? Boss do you have a fever? Isn't it ridiculous?" Genesis felt that something wasn't right so she continued reading.
' Party B must stay away from the opposite sex at all costs' She frowned again."Eliminate that."She told him. His face turned cold."What you're planning on seeing other guys?" He asked.
"My brother and your brother count as the opposite sex. It simply doesn't make sense."Genesis reasoned."Fine…' Party B must not indulge herself in any romantic relationship with the opposite sex.' Is that better?" He asked.
Genesis nodded, still feeling suspicious.
"Party B must live with Party A for the whole two months? Share a room?" Genesis shook her head."Nope not happening." Aiden smirked."Oh, right I forgot to tell you. My parents bought an apartment for both of us so we can extend our relationship since we are still engaged." He mentioned.
Genesis gritted her teeth."Fine but I'm not sharing a room with you to take that off." Aiden sighed."Fine I will. You will come voluntarily anyway…"He mumbled. Genesis eyes widened and she glared at him. He chuckled.
Genesis smiled slyly. She took the pen and crossed out the mentioned points before. She then went to the back page and created a new list.
'Party A(Aiden) must also not indulge himself in a romantic relationship with the opposite sex. Party A shall not disclose both parties' relationship to the public once the contract takes effect. Party A shall keep a professional relationship during working hours with party B(Genesis). If this clause or any other is broken Party B has the right to shorten the timeline of the contract.Party A shall keep a safe distance from party A and there will be no intimate actions unless Party B consents it.'
These are the new terms Genesis added. Aiden nodded in approval."I'll fix up a new contract then."Aiden said. Genesis stood up and offered her hand."Pleasure working with you Mr.Miller." Aiden smirked and held her hand. He then softly pushed her into his embrace.
He kissed her forehead and smiled."The pleasure is all mine future Mrs.Miller."He held her hand in his and looked into her eyes. Genesis blinked."Don't be so sure yet."She protested and looked to side avoiding his eyes. Aiden chuckled."We'll see about that."
He turned around and left taking the contract with him and leaving her all flustered.
Seeing these new sides of him made her flustered. She never expected her usual cold boss to become so childish and….simply unusual. She was not sure whether her heart would be able to take that.
She bit her lip and took a seat. She leaned back in her chair and sighed."I must have all my defenses up for these two months…"She mumbled softly and not long after she also exited the room to continue her work.
On the other hand, Aiden took out his phone and texted something to his father who had previously agreed to support him. His father gave him a positive response and Aiden smirked.
He happily got to work again already making plans in his head. He truly felt that this way of approaching her would be risky but he knew that the first step has been made. After this it's all up to whether they are meant to be together.
Of course he knew that feelings aren't going to just appear and that a mere contract won't work. But as long as he has her close to him he will have a higher success rate.
After all they are both business people and know how to make deals that satisfy both parties quite well. They both have the same kind of thinking.except that while one is the prey the other is the predator.
