Chapter 2: Chapter 2

The sun is bright, too bright.

Sunrays splashed across the forest and onto Doryu's face. He felt his right eye burn as if it hadn't seen sunlight for the past thousand years, which was, well, actually the case.

<"Dragon's Eye" Acquired. >

The display screen lit up across his eyes as it documented the deal Doryu had just done.

<Dragon's Growth-The consumption of blood and gold increases your mana and physical>

<Dragon's Rage- Injury causes flurries of rage>

<Dragon's Immortality- As long as your host lives, you shall not die; injury still applicable>

This was a deal that seemed too good to be true, and the teen felt that. He had offered his entire essence, but aside from the Dragon's Rage, it seemed that everything else was a plus.

"Hey there" Doryu looked around but spotted no one.

" What are you looking around for? Didn't you forget about our deal?"

Doryu gulped.

"I am you and you are me, that applies to minds as well."

It was the dragon talking to him, a now invisible afterthought that would accompany him forever.

"So, Doryu I'd rather not feel pain right now so slide to the right would you?"

He started moving before stopping to ask why. That's when a wave of brown ripped past him. It was a chimera, a class B monster. The beast had the face of a goat yet the body of a lion, with a snake serving as it's tail. Before Doryu could move the chimera's tail stretched across him in a whip of green.

"SHIT"

he had just been bit.

Doryu's world became dark as he heard the chimera lunge toward him, slowly ripping apart his flesh piece by piece. He felt himself being consumed by the beast as his conscience made its way through teeth and throat until finally resting inside of the Chimera's stomach.

A memory hits him—one of the Dragon's. It was her alone in the cave without light from anywhere, just her and the whispers of her own mind. He feels not just her senses but her emotions. It's a flavor of boredom and loneliness, with just a hint of fear.

Doryu whispers inside the last bit of conscience between the two of them.

"It's going to be ok"
