Chapter 35: Harry Potter: Book 2 Part 2 ("An Elf's Meddling / Lockhart Smockheart")

She pushed her hand on the barrier, it was solid, and frowned as she went through her options. The non-magcials not paying her any mind thanks to her magic, quickly turning around she heads for the parking lot and hops on her bike.

The roar of the engine sounding like a lion sent some into a panic as others ran, she sped down the road weaving in and out of traffic before long she was out in the countryside again lifting off and on her way to Hogwarts.

The air flew past her as she held her frown, Dobby had tried to get within the pub however they had wards set up to prevent anything like that from happening, yet it would seem like Dobby will still try to protect her.

Soon she arrived flying next to the train, students looked out their windows as she revved her engine, the students looked on in awe as they watched her flying and a metal contraption. She quickly pulled close to the train as Fou squirrelled his way out of clothes and took control of the vehicle with arms made of solid magic.

Numerous students began to worry as they watched her stand atop the bike like she was surfing, the bike pulled closer to the train and with a leap she landed atop it, she landed on the coach meant for 3rd years.

She calmly walks to the back of the train compartment and jumps down into the area between coaches, quickly pulling on her cloak of invisibility she enters the second year, she walks down the hall and finds an empty compartment and sits down.

She had locked the door and pulled the blinds before anyone could come in, putting away her cloak she sat down and got ready for the long hall by sprawling along the seating, as she rode the train she let the scenery pass by her and fell asleep to the train's ruling rocking.

Harriet awoke in time to leave the train and join her classmates on the carriage ride to the castle, she passed by the students in her cloak as she took in the numerous whispers. Many of them talked about how they heard of her flying on something beside the train.

It was to the surprise of many new students, and himself, when she appeared at the dinner table, that most of her year-mates of her house avoided her and kept to themselves as the Weasley year-mate smiled smugly. (She could only pity the young boy who was a product of his environment.)

Lockharts eyes sparkled as he swept his eyes over the new students sitting down and being sorted, these students would be learning from him and he would soon become even more of a household name!

He soon zeroed in on "The Girl Who Lived", she kept an aloof look and didn't pay any attention to those around her nor try to regale them with her own tales... He would have to keep her after class so they could correct that, and then in her autobiography, she would be singing him praise meaning he would be even more well-known!

&The Next Morning&

Walking around the castle Harriet had an aloof expression worn while walking past her fellow students, according to those Lockhart had asked, and had completely evaded him whenever he had tried to find the young girl.

Obviously, the young girl must be too shy to even meet him, but he didn't have to worry for he would soon meet her in his class on DADA. It was only a matter of time before he had wrapped around her finger and swooning for him like the rest of the witches.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was just after breakfast that the students of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were gathered just outside the greenhouses waiting for professor sprout, Harriet's superior hearing gave all the warning that she would need if not for the fact she had read the books.

Coming from the direction of the Whomping Willow was the squat little witch that was Professor Sprout and behind her the ever-irritating fraud that was Lockhart speaking as if he knew a thing about Herbology!

Lockhart: "Oh, hello there!" he spoke jovially and he positively preened at the swooning from the young witches but somewhat deflated as Harriet paid him no mind and instead approached her Sprout instead of him.

Harriet: "Professor Sprout I was wondering if I could speak with you right now, something urgent has come up." Her eyes flickered to Lockhart and somewhat conveyed her annoyance for the pest that was Lockhart.

Sprout: "Why-" She was instantly interrupted by Lockhart's boastful words.

Lockhart: "Why, I'm quite sure if it's something as important as you imply I would be happy to help Miss Potter!" He finished his words with a slight flourish of his words as Sprout fumed, however, his Ego and pride took a big hit from Harriet's own words.

Harriet: "That's quite alright, I'm sure you're quite busy with your duties as a DADA professor and preparing our next lesson. Besides my questions are of a Herbology nature." She bowed slightly and watched as Professor Sprout shoved Gilderoy off before he could do anything.

Sprout: "Miss, Potter, whatever you have to speak to me about can it wait until the end of class?" She inquired with a slightly strained smile, Harriet shook her head and smiled happily.

Harriet: "Just trying to give you a chance to chase Lockhart off and allow us actually to get to our lesson." Sprout sported a somewhat surprised look before beaming happily and moving her students into Greenhouse 3.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The wind softly blew Fou's fur as he watched over Harriet taking a nap by lying down on one of the benches, it was in the middle of said nap that a nervous-looking, and very small, mousy-haired boy approached her sleeping form.

His shoes made a soft noise as he walked across the grass, having honed her instincts through rigorous battles with Archer she awoke but kept still. The boy continued his approach but his constant shifting and not being attacked by Fou tipped her off to his most likely harmless intentions.

He arrived just before her when she opened her eyes suddenly, startling him as he blushed from embarrassment. She smiled at him as he was frozen she sat up and patted the spot next to her kindly, he quickly took the seat but fitted in his spot.

Harriet: "If I remember correctly from the sorting last night, you're Colin Creevey, yes?" She tilted her head at him as he shyly nodded, he fiddled with the camera in his hand for a bit before she leaned him onto her shoulder.

Harriet: "You want a picture?" She asked sweetly.

Colin: "Y-Yes, how did you know?" he asked amazed after finally working up the courage to ask the beautiful girl, eliciting a giggle from her.

Harriet: "You have a camera in your hands and are a new first year, sometimes all you need is a little logic." She rested her head on his and hummed a small tune and ran her hand through his hair.

Harriet: "Very well, hand me the camera." he quickly and almost clumsily handed her the camera as she held it out and down in front of them. "Smile, make a face, whatever you do just let me know when to take the picture~" getting a quick okay she stuck her tongue out in a smile and made a peace sign with her right hand as Colin gave a big old smile.

A quick "Ka-chick" sounds out in the courtyard as the picture was taken, handing the camera back to the young boy she stands up and stretches as he marvels at it.

Colin: "Thank you so much! When I get it developed can you sign it?!" He quickly stood up and gave her a hug she reciprocated, only for the moment to be ruined when Ronald "McDonald" Weasley came around the corner.

Ronald: "Signed photos? You're giving out signed photos, Pendragon?"

Ronald's loud voice echoed across the courtyard and startled Colin, moving in front of the boy who peaked out from behind her school robes as she watched Ronald's eyes peer at the first year.

Ronald: "Everyone line up!" he yelled to everyone in the courtyard "Harriet's giving out signed photos!" Numerous of the students who had been watching stood stock still "The big-headed bint's going to sign things so we might as well get the 'Oh so great and powerful heir of Merlin's autograph!"

Draco: "You are blowing this out of proportion, Weasly, and that insult will cost you more than you know." Draco came walking out of the doors to the courtyard with a confident stride and stopped right beside Harriet when he finished.

Colin: "You're just jealous!" He spoke up behind Harriet's towering frame that he hid behind.

Ronald: "Jealous? Why would I be Jealous of-" His sour face suggested he was going to insult her again when he was interrupted by the person she least wanted to see ever again.

Lockhart: "What's all this, what's all this?" He was striding toward them, his turquoise robes swirling behind him as his teeth gave a little sparkle. "Who's giving out signed photos?"

Harriet looked away from the man, Colin himself could see the exasperation that was written across her face as she sighed when Lockhart locked onto her.

Lockhart: "Shouldn't have asked! We meet again, Miss Potter!" he walked close and made to swing his arm around her shoulder, clearly not having learned from the last time he tried to touch her.

In an instant, a white blur flew above him and a sword flew out of it landing in Lockhart's shadow, the white blur landed on his outstretched arm and two swords were placed on each side of his neck. He clearly didn't learn his lesson the last time this happened and wasn't expecting her next move.

Harriet: "I told you, Lockhart, the next time you try to initiate physical contact with me you would lose the hand that you tried it with. However, seeing as you have a class to teach later today and I would hate for Hogwarts to lose a teacher this early in the year I will let this slide."

A quick tap of her staff and the white blur, Fou, blurred again appearing on her should and staring directly at Lockhart as the swords disappeared. The threat was well received as he gulped and nodded now that he could move, and right behind him was Snape looking displeased at the man himself.

Snape: "Lockhart." His monotone voice getting the DADA professor to jump a little as he turned around.

Lockhart: "Professor Snape! What do I owe this pleasant meeting to?" he asked as his death did another little sparkle like he was from an anime.

The bell rang for people to get to their next classes before Snape could threaten the man with a meeting between himself, McGonagall, and Lockhart himself. The man took the moment to flee before he could incur the wrath, Snape looked around the courtyard seeing the idle students standing and staring in awe at how the situation was handled.
