Chapter 47: Su Mingli

Ling Xue and Li Yuemei floated in that special place for an unknown amount of time, unaware of how many days had passed.

Then, after their journey through the spatial rift, the two suddenly felt their bodies experiencing the same indescribable sensation as before.

Afterward, they emerged on the other side of the Beast Range, still within the dangerous territory of the storm but in a different region than where they had been.

Upon exiting the space, they found themselves in a strange place, atop the mountain range, with the storm not many meters above them.

The sound of the storm continued, even more terrifying now that they were closer.

They then looked at the path they would have to take.

"This is quite… scary; how will we continue? Flying doesn't seem like a good option; we'll have to go slowly," Li Yuemei said, seeing everything from the height they were at.

The area they were headed to now required descending the giant mountain they were on, but the region ahead of this mountain was strange.

It had numerous immensely high stone mountain, and the geology of the area right in front of them seemed treacherous and unstable, with dangerous cliffs. These stone mountains extended and formed sharp peaks and abysses between them.

"Yes, it was safe to fly on the Trail of Eternal Winds because there were no spatial rifts on the trail, but in the sky of this place, there are thousands scattered and invisible. Besides the storm being right above, being hit by any of its energy is extremely easy," Ling Xue said.

"Let's continue on the safe path; if we are lucky, we will have no unforeseen events and will be able to leave here in three days." He said as he began to walk again, the barrier of pure ice had never been removed, so the two were safe. But Ling Xue created more pure ice, and then two more barriers appeared right behind the one they were in.

Due to its proximity to the storm, lightning and powerful spatial energy discharges could occur at any moment, posing immense danger to all who walked through this place.

They then began to descend the mountain by the path described in the book.

In the Su family's castle, Su Jin's meeting with his father and brothers continued for a while. He told them about the new information discovered on the southern continent, and about the being that emerged from the frozen abyss. It was up to his father and brothers to decide what to do, but they did not seem very concerned about it.

Then after that, they ate and enjoyed talking about family matters, and what they would do to earn more money and increase the family's strength, but every conversation always ended up on the same subject.

After a good time enjoying themselves, everyone began to leave, one by one, until only Su Jin and his father remained.

The cheerful atmosphere at that moment had turned into a more serious climate when only the two were left.

Su Jin realized that his father wanted to talk alone with him, and that's why his brothers left first.

"Su Jin, as you have been commanding the family branch on the southern continent, you may not know much, but our family is now very different," his father suddenly said.

"Yes, father, I noticed that the family seems to have grown rapidly; our family's spatial domain is very different from what I remembered."

"Hm, in the last fifteen years, we have had an advantage in almost all opportunities that appeared on the central continent, whether treasures or ancient inheritances, and because of that, the family has grown much more."

"You must already know why, even though the reports we sent to you are summarized, you must already be aware of her."

"Yes, father," Su Jin replied; he already knew that a monster had been born in the family, and it was precisely his little sister.

"She told us that you would be arriving soon, and said for you to meet her. Even though I am the leader of the family, in the last fifteen years, she has been the one who has guided me on what to do about numerous things. So treat her with respect, the man said with a serious expression.

"You can go see her; her room is the same as before."

"I understand," said Su Jin as he left the room and walked slowly through the castle.

Numerous thoughts were on his mind; his father seemed to have not only an appreciation for Su Mingli as his daughter, but a deep respect for her.

Just like his brothers, while they were talking at the banquet, they said numerous things about her, but all were extremely respectful, something he could not understand.

'What has that child become for everyone to treat her like this?' He thought to himself as he approached a room in the castle.

This room was far from where the other family members lived, and there was silence; only the sound of his steps could be heard.

There was absolutely nothing outside the room—not a decoration, just a large white door.

He approached, and as he was about to knock on the door, it opened on its own.

Then a soft tea scent entered his nose, as the door was fully opened.

A different vision from what he imagined appeared before his eyes. The room was small and simple; compared to the castle rooms, this was the smallest.

In it, there was only one bed and a few white cabinets scattered around, but they were very clean and well decorated. Right after the bed was a small balcony with a table close to the ground and two white cushions.

On one of the cushions, he saw the back of a girl as she looked at the forest built in front of her balcony. Like everyone in the main family, her hair was dark blue.

As soon as he saw this young woman, a strange feeling hit him. He couldn't sense the young woman's strength or her presence in the room; despite looking at her, it was as if she wasn't there.

Then he saw her turning to him, and a feeling of intrigue and curiosity, along with a slight nervousness, appeared in him. He could not help but notice the enigmatic aura around her.

Soon he saw her face, and the first thing he noticed was that above her eyes was a purple blindfold. As they looked at each other, Su Jin felt a sensation of being completely seen, the same slightly terrifying sensation he had fifteen years ago.

Her expression was monotonous, and after looking at Su Jin for a moment, she looked at the table in front of her while lifting her cup. As soon as this happened, the strange feeling of being completely seen disappeared.

Instantly, he realized that she continues to be someone extremely mysterious; he did not understand why, but he did not feel comfortable near her, and he saw that her eyes were even more terrifying, but at least now she hides them.

"Sister Mingli, it seems like it was yesterday the last time we saw each other, but you are completely different; time really flies fast for us cultivators." Su Jin said, trying to start the conversation, but feeling a little strange talking to her.

"Hm, it's good to see you well again. Sit down; many things have changed while you were away. Let's talk," she said calmly as another cup appeared on the table.
