“But…” I mumbled confused as she rolled her eyes and huffed.

“Laura, look… I just… he… he hurt me, you know.”

I frowned as her voice quietened.

“I gave him time, I gave him space, and yet… and yet he still tried to drive me away. He may not have outwardly rejected me but his actions… He didn’t even want me to come here… he tried his best to hide the fact he was going with you” her eye stared at me, sadness and anger mixing together.

I bit my lip as I reached out to hug her, not sure what else to do or say to make the situation better, I loved Domini, he was my brother but Ellen… Ellen was my best friend, my rock, and my protector. She relaxed into my embrace, resting her head on the nape of my neck before I felt her start to sob. I held her tighter to me, my heartbreaking in that moment. I had never, never seen her like this.
