Grim Winter was buried under rubble as a child when an earthquake had destroyed his city, after spending many years while being fed by rats he was finally saved

But when he was rescued and he had returned to the world, it was no longer the same, the earthquake had formed crevasses from which monsters have began destroying the world

Luckily humanity wasn't abandoned and people have began gaining supernatural powers from these crevasses, luckily Grim wasn't alone
