Chapter 17: His silver bird

He had turned into a demon.

Rigel shivered at the memory. Turning his head to face his beloved siblings who he'd die for. Letting out a small smile he turned away walking into back into the palace alone.

Smiling Celesti looked up at her brother who remained silent. Patting her lap she watched her calm collected brother become a large puppy before her eyes. Closing his eyes he laid down on the grass placing his head on her lap. His hands slightly clenching over her skirts like a small child. Almost curling into her.

Chuckling silently she ran her slender fingers through his hair massaging his temples. Letting out a small hum Sirius' tense expression loosen. The tiniest smile appearing on his face.

"Big brother..." Celesti traced off. Humming in respond Sirius stayed silent waiting for her to continue.

"You know out of all of us. I've always loved you the biggest brother. You've always been there for me. Even during those nights, I would have those nightmares you always came rushing. Gentle spirit always in your hand." Celesti giggled softly to herself, remembering the frantic look in his eyes each time he stormed into her room. Her mother almost passing out in fright when he broke down the doors one night. After so many nights of the same nightmare passed that Celesti woke up to get some water. Only to then find out Sirius was sleeping standing up outside her room.

"I can never thank you enough for what you did that day," Celesti muttered tears filling her eyes.

"I would have died if you hadn't shared your core aura with me." Celesti felt tears falling down her cheeks, too lost in her memories. Only to flinch back into reality when Sirius reached up to wipe away her tears.

"I would do it again." Celesti's eyes widen with tears as she watched her brother's face soften. The sun's rays shining down on them. It's warm rays causing a shift in Sirius' eyes. Appearing brighter, like precious gems.

"I love you, big brother."

"I love you too, my silver bird."

Sirius muttered sitting up, reaching out he placed his hand behind her head. Moving her forward. Their foreheads pressed against one another. Silent tears still streaming down her cheeks as her older brother smiled slightly with a chuckle.

"You're still just a child. How can I let you leave already." Sirius gently rubbed the top of Celesti's head. The two stayed in silence for a moment longer. Feeling warm and protected in Sirius' arms like so many times before growing up. She would truly miss Sirius the most after leaving. Yet maybe once everything went as planned she would return to her home next year once the girl from another world would arrive.

Rubbing her eyes Celesti looked up smiling at her brother holding his hand out for her to help stand up. Standing she brushed away the loose grass, feeling like a child as her brother kept holding her hand walking back to the palace together. Feeling a stronger wind blow past them Celesti closed her eyes shielding herself before feeling a hand smooth down her head. Looking up surprised she watched her brother smooth down her wild strands.

"I remember I used to braid your hair as a child. It seems I will miss that as well." Sirius recalled fondly, moving behind her he braided two small braids one on either side of her head before connecting them behind. Chuckling she played with her skirts before feeling Sirius pinned her hair down with hair broch. Curious she reached out behind her trying to feel the shape of the brooch.

"What?"

"It's a flower of the tree. I had it crystalized." Sirius muttered moving to stand in front of her once again.

"How?"

"I thought you'd want to take a piece of home with you." Celesti felt her eyes fill with tears once again for the hundredth time that day. Smiling up at her brother she let out a small chuckle.

"You are too much, big brother."

Smiling down fondly at his beloved sister neither noticed the pair of golden eyes watching them from a distance.

Being escorted to through the palace garden to the throne room. A golden-haired knight followed a nervous attendant. His armor shining under the sun as the Soleil royal crest shinned in the middle of the breastplate. His eyes looking at his surroundings before stopping at the sight of the two close looking siblings. A slight smirk apearing on his face.

"So that's Celestia's Sheild and Saint. How interesting."
