I woke early the next morning fully aware of Ellie's soft breathing beside me and the warmth that radiated off her body. She hadn't fallen asleep until around three AM and I'd followed shortly after. 

I should send her back to her own room. Kate had a job to keep her busy and rumor was, she was seeing someone in the city, too. Plus, it was my hope that Ellie had learned her lesson regarding doing whatever Kate wanted. 

She'd be safe on her own now. Her and my baby. 

But I couldn’t bring myself to say the words. 

I blinked open my eyes and turned my head to look at the back of hers. Her dark hair was a tangle and her back moved slightly with every breath.
