Chapter 7: 1.5. Aunt Arya

I looked up at the high building standing tall in front of a wide green park. The summer sunset was illuminating the big white H on the facade with an orangey light. I stepped inside and went to the reception desk. There, a woman wearing a light blue blouse was skimming through documents with a serious expression.

"Excuse me…"

Startled, she hastily raised her head.

"Sorry, I didn't see you. Are you here to visit?"

"Yes. I'd like to visit Arya Winchester, please."

She nodded her head and checked her computer to see the number of the room.

"Are you family? Friend?"

"I'm her nephew."

She smiled compassionately and looked back at me with apologetic eyes.

"Her health suddenly worsened yesterday. We had to put her under respirators in room 405."

I thanked her and walked across the corridors until I found the right room. I was about to open the door when a doctor came out of the room and almost bumped into me. When he saw me, he immediately recognised me.

"Angel, how are you?"

"I'm well, thanks doc. How's auntie?"

He suddenly seemed uncomfortable, as if he was scared to hurt me.

"The chemotherapy was working just fine. I really can't understand why she collapsed yesterday when her health was improving."

I simply nodded. Of course he can't. My uncle used a poison that couldn't be detected if you're not searching for it specifically. He came yesterday after the nurse called him to tell him she was fine enough to be discharged from the hospital and go back home.

Arya was my mother's sister and my father's best friend. It's thanks to her that my parents met and fell in love. When my father wrote his will, he named her my legal guardian since she was also my godmother.

It is one of the reason why Richard hid his brother's testament. If it was known that she was my legal guardian instead of him, the contract which stipulated that Angel gave him his entire inheritance would be invalidated since the original was minor when he signed and Arya didn't agree to it. When he knew her health was better, he killed her so she wouldn't disclose the original will since she had a copy.

But this time she won't die because thanks to the system, I was able to obtain a cure for her lungs cancer and the poison she swallowed. In a few days, she'll be back on her feet as if she has never been sick. The reason why I didn't come sooner is that I wanted Richard to believe he succeeded with his plan.

I smiled at the doctor.

"Is she conscious right now?"

"Yes, but she can't talk."

"It's okay, thank you doc."

He smiled and went to check on another patient. I entered the room, closing the door behind me, and looked at the woman laying on the bed with a mask on her face and a tube coming out of it. She looked old, her greyish skin was wrinkled and she had dark circles around her eyes. Her hairless head was shining under the sunlight passing through the window.

Her eyes flickered open and she forced a reassuring smile when she saw I was the one who entered the room.

"Hi, auntie."

I sat on the chair next to the bed and held her hand. I gave her à reassuring smile.

"Everything will be fine, I promise auntie… Say, do you trust me?"

She slightly nodded.

"Do you trust me with your life?"

Again, she nodded. I took out a needle and a vial with a translucent liquid on it. It was the only way she could be healed since she couldn't eat anything with the respirators. As I transferred the liquid into the syringe, I explained everything to her.

"Richard poisoned you. He thinks you're a threat for him because you have father's will in your possession. A year ago, he mad me sign away father's inheritance and made everybody believe that he was my legal guardian by forging a fake will."

I stopped for a second, concentrating on the manipulation. I injected the medicine in her arm and put on a sticking plaster after pulling out the syringe.

"I made researches and found an elixir for your illness but also the poison."

She didn't look surprised that I had found a cure —the original was a genius in pharmaceutic. However, eyes darkened in anger as I told her Richard's plan. Arya never liked Richard and always thought something was weird with him but she didn't think that he was the kind to be able to commit murder. However, the fact that he's after the company isn't surprising, that guy loves money more than his own son.

I put back my material inside my jacket and took back her hand.

"You don't have to worry. You'll be fine in five days, right on time for the board meeting two days later, to choose the new president. I'm really impatient to see his face when you'll show up unannounced."

I smirked ruthlessly and she smiled back at me with pride. Arya is a really kind woman but she doesn't care about the life of those who tries to hurt her family. She was always worried about the original because he was too kindhearted but looking at me right now, she seemed relieved.

I kissed her cheek and greeted her goodbye. On my way back to the hotel, I made sure that no one from the hospital would call Richard as soon as Arya feels better.

When I entered my suite, I noticed that Amory's shoes were still in the entrance hall. I walked inside and saw him laying asleep on my bed.

Damn, what is wrong with that guy's head?

I went next to the bed and crossed my arms while staring at him. I won't be lenient just because he's handsome, especially when he sleeps. I coughed to wake him up but he was still sound asleep. So I tried to call him.

"Hey!"

No answer.

"Wake up!"

No answer. I started to shake in anger. That man's ears are fucking good usually. He's even able to hear me when I mumble in the room next door so it was unbelievable that he couldn't hear me scream next to him, even while sleeping.

I raised my leg and kicked him in the stomach.

"You fucking moron, get out of my bed!"
