"No way... so Lady Felicia didn't know Brother Waldo was dead all along?! How could that be?"
"The day Lord Barkaley came to Wolverlope's residence, Lady Felicia asked him about Mr. Waldo, and that's when I made up a big lie. I told Lady Felicia that he was away on a dungeon raid under Prince Leofric's orders."
The fastest dungeon raid could only be completed in three years. So that lie would work, plus it was a fact that Waldo was doing a dungeon raid, even if it was only one floor.
"That's not what I asked!" shouted Jane. "I know how much you love her, Rachel. How the heck did you still look fine while uttering a lie?"
"I don't feel fine at all! Every night, every time I went to bed, I couldn't stop thinking about my decisions that day! But in the end, I did all this for Lady!"
