Chapter 1: CHAPTER 01- First day at the school

In an old dark room surrounded with cold air, there stood a pale and thin girl who was crying with a terrible pain. Her voice didn't come out but hot tears were rolling down from her eyes along her red cheeks one by one. She was staring at a faded cloud like mark of the wooden door of the room and was murmuring something through her trembling lips, which anyone could hardly even hear,

" Papa....."

The cloud like mark made her remind her father's curly hair and made her crying even worse. She was silently arguing with her own little world. She was looking for solutions for the questions which disturbed her little mind so badly....

"Why Papa left me here" ?

"Where are all the others have gone" ?

Most of all "Why don't I have a chair to sit" ?

Then suddenly for her great relief or dissapointment a line of girls had entered the small room, seated and filled the air. Then sometime later entered a woman who was in her mid forty's with a fair complexion, not very tall or short wearing a kind smile on her face. She gazed at the entire room to get a clear idea of her sweet little students.

Stand up please my sweet hearties !!! I'm your class teacher for grade 1. Let me introduce myself first. I'm Mrs. Westfield....

So say good morning to your class teacher..... said the class teacher .

Good morning teacher.....greeted all the girls who stood up from their chairs except that one girl and then all were seated except that one girl, Raisha...

The kind woman had admitted to the standing girl who was pale with anxiety. She knelt down to see the two small eyes wet with tears. Being understood the situation the teacher took her hand and took her aside.

Dear, What is it ? Do you feel alone here ?

The girl nodded her head to say "yes".

Oh ! please you don't have to....Here is your teacher and many friends to be happy with. Please don't think that you are alone. We all love you.. right ... said Mrs. Westfield

Seeing that Raisha is still standing the teacher said,

Ok! First we'll find a chair for you to sit.

After that Mrs. Westfield moved out of the classroom to look for a chair and within few minutes she returned with a pinkish old chair in her hand.

Now the girl was seated comfortably beside the teacher's table. Raisha was relieved enough to do her daily school stuff without any fluster that day.....

But the same incident took place every morning continuously, so now the teacher no longer was willing to find chairs and heal Raisha's painful lonely heart.

Raisha... my dear child....you should come to school bit early and find a chair by yourself. Try it.. it's not hard. You must try not to look miserable all the time...You should speak with your friends and try to be happy with them... was the teacher's response for Raisha's continuing morning behavior.

As a result of Mrs. Westfield's kind advice Raisha took actions to find a chair for her to sit and did her daily school work in a very silent manner. Her listening and writing skills were excellent. Raisha's school work was perfect, neat and tidy. She was praised by her teacher and the principal of the school. But for their greatest surprise Raisha bid no single word out of her mouth throughout the whole time she spent in the school.

Raisha's odd behavior was discussed among teachers and the news even worried the principal.

So Mrs. Westfield as well as the principal of the school then decided to discuss this matter with Raisha's mama and papa.

Your daughter Raisha's school work is excellent. But she talks only to answer the questions I ask while doing a lesson. She doesn't have any friends. Does she talk with you at home? asked Mrs. Westfield.

The class teacher and the principal were both astonished by the answer given by Raisha's papa.....

Oh! yes indeed. She peaks with us as a usual child. Raisha is a good speaker and even a good singer. Sometimes we even can't stop her of speaking.

Oh! unbelievable.... But I'm happy at least she speaks with you all at home. Raisha is a very talented child. I'm sure she will become a great personality one day. said Mrs. Westfield while turning the pages of Raisha's writing books.

From that day onwards Mrs. Westfield took no more effort to make Raisha speak. Raisha did her work impeccably but continued being silent at school for Three whole years.
