Chapter 48: Dungeons

'Is this not the same guy who snapped at me because I said hi to Torie?' Alex exclaimed inwardly, he was wondering if his memory was playing tricks on him or if he did not remember what had happened that day properly.

Vee, on the other hand, was fully focused on Gustavo's brother; they learned a few things about him after Milan introduced them.

The guy was a student of the Royal Magic Academy as well and was a second-year student, he was part of the batch before them and had already become a Nobel rank mage not long ago.

Not only was he friendly and playful towards Milan, Torie, and his brother, but he was an easygoing person who was friendly to literally everyone; he was also a chatterbox.

The appearance of Gustavo's brother completely destroyed the dignified image of powerful mages that was in Alex's mind. After all, Noble-rank mages could easily become city lords in small towns and could look down on ordinary people.

'So not all powerful mages are cold and arrogant like instructor Bree and that old man?' Alex questioned himself as he stared speechlessly at Damian, Gustavo's elder brother.

"So, you are Alex, right? I heard a kid awakened two elements in my brother's batch, so it's you. Hmm, your looks are only average but with your double elements, you barely qualify to stay beside my brother" Damian stared at Alex and nodded in acknowledgement as they all walked Into the cafeteria. Ignoring the stunned stares of other students as they all looked at Damian, they directly went to the top floor of the cafeteria where food was sold and also where they were likely to find Gustavo.

(Remember that the cafeteria had two sections, the bottom floor offered free meals and the top floor is where high-quality meals are sold and not everyone can come here)

"Umm, is this guy really a Noble rank mage? He doesn't seem noble at all, he's so easy going" Brown whispered to Vee as they were walking side by side behind the others.

Vee only shrugged in response and did not say anything.

He just watched as Damian dragged Alex and the others towards where Gustavo was sitting before buying plates upon plates of expensive dishes that almost filled their table.

"Hehehe, this is your senior welcoming you to the academy. Eat as much as you want, bills on me!" Damian chuckled as he stuffed a piece of meat into Milan's mouth. The others stared at him weirdly but did not reject his kind gesture, Gustavo kept facepalming whenever he looked at his elder brother; he looked very embarrassed.

They saw a few more people enter this section of the cafeteria, some were in blue uniforms which indicated that they were first-year students while the rest were in ordinary clothes.

"Senior brother Damian, why are there no second-year students around?" Milan questioned, minutes had passed but not a single person in Moss uniform had entered the place beside Damian.

"Hehe, of course, they aren't here. They are still dealing with their graduation test in the dungeon, only I have successfully cleared a dungeon" Damian said proudly.

"Wow, dungeons!"

"You guys clear dungeons as a graduation test?"

Helen, Brown, and his two followers gasped in surprise at the same time. They could not help but stare at Damian in a new light after learning that he was the only one who had cleared his test out of everyone in his batch.

Even Gustavo, Milan, and Torie who were already familiar with Damian could not help but stare at him in amazement.

'Even I sometimes forget how strong he actually is because of his easygoing nature' Gustavo sighed inwardly.

Only Vee and Alex did not share in the shock of the others. Vee was obviously because he looked down on dungeons as even the highest level of dungeons would be destroyed by him if he sneezed too much, Alex, on the other hand, was completely clueless about what they were talking about and had a confused expression as the others praised Damian for his awesomeness.

"Umm, what is a dungeon?"

Silence!!

Everyone sitting at the table (except Vee) stared at Alex with stupefied expressions on their faces, Damian could not believe that there was someone who did not know about dungeons.

Those things were very popular after all!

"Alex, you really don't know what dungeons are?" Helen asked Alex while giving him the "tell me that you are joking" stare.

Alex did not reply and only stared at him blankly, directly answering her question.

"Damn! Where did you come from? How can you be so clueless?" Damian could not take it and hissed at Alex.

'I have been planning to act cool in front of my brother's friends so they know how awesome their friend's big brother was, but this kid with two elements does not even know what a dungeon is?! Unforgivable!'

"Well, I come from a really, really far and small village," Alex answered weakly.

Damian rubbed his face and sighed in defeat while the others kept staring at Alex in disbelief.

"Fine, I'll just explain it to you," Damian said and began to explain things to Alex.

Dungeons are social realms that appear in Edrichrio and form gates to special realms that hold countless beasts and magic beasts. The origin of these special realms appearing on the planet could be traced back to thousands of years ago when even Vee of the northern continent was not known yet.

These dungeons would randomly appear at places that no one would expect and monsters would start to flood out of them, of course, these monsters would only be at beasts level or very low-class magic beasts, and the stronger ones would stay inside.

Dungeons had nine levels and the lower one went, the stronger the monsters they would encounter. Also, there are levels of dungeons; the level of dungeons is different from the number of levels in a dungeon as all dungeons have nine levels but not anyone can clear a level two dungeon or above.

There are five levels of dungeons and the one Damian and his classmates went for their graduation test to become full second-year students was a level one dungeon.
