Chapter 2: "That" Place
The day before yesterday, it was raining. The scent of the rain in the afternoon quickly filled my room, and I felt somewhat nostalgic. A lot of forgotten memories from the past surfaced and I felt the urge to go to "that" place. It's not that I miss "that" person from the past, I actually have moved on. "That" place, where our memories remain, but not a single memory of "that person" ever bothered me, even if most of them are from "that" place.
I actually wanted to go to "that" place. I felt so attached to "that" place. Even if you only count all the painful experiences that happened "there", I don't know why I find myself attracted to "that" place. Though it is only buildings of apartment complexes, which are abundant of trees and has its own private park, I never get tired of going "there", especially when it rains.
I still remember it very clearly, the image "that" place whenever the afternoon sunshine pours from the sky, to make the rooftop of the buildings and the top leaves of the trees glow in amber light.
When the Morning bright rays of the sun pass through the trees to make the pavement sparkle as you walk, or when the moon and stars add a gentle glow to the yellow street lights of the sleeping park.
But most of my dearest memories there are from when it rains. I always had the urge to just go "there" when it rains. Whenever I had problems or difficulties, I would stroll the streets of "that" place. Just imagine strolling in the quiet neighborhood while it gently pours. Hearing the rhythmic droplets of the rainfall on the leaves, or just looking at your reflection as it disrupts when raindrops onto the puddle.
Ah yes, maybe it's because I find peace in "that" place. Maybe that is the reason why I love "that" place so much. Having a place of peacefulness us truly a gift.
The scent of the rains fills the air once more, and just like the day before yesterday, the image of "that" place quickly flashes in my mind. "hmmm.. Maybe I'll just have a moment of peace in that place." I said to myself as I end all of what I am doing and make my way to the door.
