Chapter 10: Announcement
"I think it's finally time I turn in the quest" Arthur said as he closed his status board.
Arthur started walking until he heard a loud alarm, and a few seconds later, a blue screen appeared in front of Arthur
....
[Announcement!]
[Player 'Arke' has been the first player to solo a Tier-1 Beast!]
....
This announcement appeared in front of all the players who were currently logged into Raven Online.
"Player Arke took down a Tier-1 beast by himself?! Even the top players in the guilds didn't manage to do that! Who's this Arke person?"
"What's a Tier-1 Beast?"
"You idiot! Didn't you read a bit about the game before playing?"
"No, I just figured I'll learn while I play"
"Tsk, Get away from me loser"
"What? I'm a loser because I didn't read before I played?"
....
A beautiful, tall woman who looked to be in her early 20s, had white-sliver hair and blue eyes that glinted with coldness. She was wearing a white robe with engravings of blue flowers. She had her hood up, while the robe covered her whole body as it hid her body's outline.
A small sphere was hovering over her as it watched the recent fight.
This woman had just finished defeating wolves with white fur that had icicles sticking from its body, with the help of her teammates.
Suddenly a blue screen appeared in front of her face, showing the recent announcement.
"Arke..." she said with a slight interest tone but kept an indifferent expression.
....
"I'm the first one to solo a Tier-1 beast? What the hell is a Tier-1 Beast? That Boar is Tiered-1?" Arthur kept asking similar questions one after another.
Arthur shook his head and said, "Maybe this was broadcasted to everyone. I can probably use this to start my streaming debut"
Arthur was planning to stream in the near future. He wanted to at least have better gear before streaming because he thought that someone with better gear will attract more views.
However, This came at a perfect time.
"I guess I don't have to wait. I'll probably start streaming tomorrow. Who knows, maybe watching someone who becomes weak to strong is pretty entertaining too"
Streaming was another way for Arthur to get money. He didn't plan to stream all the time, only when he was doing something interesting that'll attract attention.
"I'm glad I didn't use my actual name for my username. I rather not draw attention to my family"
Even though Arthur was practically a nobody, there was a chance someone who did know him would leak his information to get fame or money, but thankfully he didn't.
This announcement appeared in front of millions of players who had just logged into the game, plus the streamers who were streaming for their fans saw the recent announcement. The player Arke's fame has skyrocketed in a span of a few minutes.
So if Arthur used his real name, it would've bound to catch one of Arthur's friends, family, acquaintances, or even the people who despised Arthur because of his looks.
Arthur shook his head and decided to walk back to the village to meet Braxton.
Along the way to the village, he managed to meet many snakes, foxes, and rabbits, which was enough for him to level up 2 times and increase his [Basic Swordsmanship] by 1.
....
Arthur has finally reached the village, as he missed the feeling of being near people.
Arthur walked to the gates and the guards guarding the gates froze at the sight of Arthur. They didn't dare to question what happened to him.
Arthur noticed this and was very confused, but they didn't say anything so it wasn't anything to worry about.
Arthur then entered the village and saw many people staring at him again, but like always, he ignored them.
Arthur reached the tavern and entered with a smile on his face. As Arthur walked in, he saw numerous faces turn pale, while Braxton wasn't paying attention.
Arthur started walking to the counter but sounds of liquid dropping, hit the floor
*Drip, Drip, Drip*
"I'm here to turn my quest in, Braxton" Arthur said as he finally reached the counter.
Braxton looked up and what he saw made his face turn pale.
Braxton saw a young man whose hair, face, and body died in the color red, as blood started dripping from his clothing. He looked and sounded a bit familiar, so he asked, "I'm sorry...You are...?"
"I'm the guy who asked for a quest earlier, do you remember?" Arthur said in a displeased tone.
It was only for a few hours that he was gone, but Braxton has completely forgotten about him, this is what Arthur's current thoughts but had no idea of the real reasoning.
Braxton's eyes widened and said in shock, "Y-Your...that brat?"
"I have a name, you know? But yeah, I guess?" Arthur said.
Braxton frowned and narrowed his eyes as he said in a serious tone, "Brat, how dare you walk into my tavern covered in blood!"
Arthur's frowned and looked at his clothing
"!" Arthur panicked because he hadn't noticed.
Arthur was very embarrassed and scratched his head, he asked, "Ah...Uh, do you have some spare clothes I could borrow?"
Braxton shook his head, "Come with me" as he walked away from the bar and entered the back room.
Arthur followed Braxton to the back room.
....
After receiving some clothes from Braxton, Arthur had to clean the tavern. From the entrance to the counter, and to the back room.
As he finished cleaning, Arthur then thanked and apologized to Braxton as he bowed, "I'm once again very sorry. I didn't know I was covered in blood and dirtied your tavern. I'm thankful for the clothing you let me borrow"
Braxton's face turned normal and sighed, "Sigh...It's fine, brat. What's done is done. You've already cleaned up after yourself and you can keep the clothing... Well, did you complete the quest?"
Arthur stood back up straight and said in an eager tone, "Yes, I have! I've actually caught a few more than 10. Is it okay to give you those as well or should I take them somewhere else?"
Braxton scratched his beard, he said, "Since it's only a few more, I don't see the harm in buying those as well"
Arthur's face brightened, "Should I drop them here, or do you have somewhere in mind I should drop them?"
"Here's fine" Braxton simply said.
Arthur then opened his [Inventory] and dropped 30 wild rabbits, which shocked Braxton greatly.
"B-Brat, I thought you said it's only a few more?" Braxton looked at the piled wild rabbit corpses.
"Hm? Ah, It's a little more than a few, but this is fine right?" Arthur asked.
"Sure..." Braxton said as he could hear his empty wallet flapping.
"Also, do you know where I could sell some foxes, snakes, and a big boar?" Arthur asked as he looked at his inventory filled with other dead animals.
"A big boar?" Braxton glanced at Arthur. The only "Big Boar" he knows of is a Tiered-1 beast.
"I'll show you" Arthur said, taking out the wild boar.
*plop*
"T-T-Tiered 1 Wild B-Boar...Y-You managed to kill this thing?" Braxton's face turned ugly seeing a lifeless monster body that could wreak havoc on the town.
"Yeah, this guy was a bit tough, anyways can I sell this here too or go somewhere else?" Arthur asked.
"...You should take this beast to the adventure guild located in the Flesa city that's up north. You'll drain everyone's pockets if you tried to sell that here"
'Flesa city? I'll ask around later, I should hurry up with this and log off' Arthur thought.
"Alright, did I complete the quest?" Arthur asked, but already knew he did.
"Yes" Braxton said, then a blue screen appeared in front of Arthur.
....
[You have completed the Quest: Hunt 10 wild rabbits and bring them back to Braxton (1/1)]
[You've brought more than the required amount. Calculating rewards...Done!]
[Reward: 1,500 EXP |+2 Strength, Agility, Dexterity | 10 raw rabbit meat | 15 Gold Coins | Increase relationship with [Braxton]}
....
Arthur smiled and said, "Alright, thanks for helping me, Braxton. I have to go now, and I'll go to Flesa city later, but I'll visit you before I leave"
"Sure, brat. Just don't come to my tavern covered in blood again and were good" Braxton laughed.
"Hahaha, yeah sorry" Arthur awkwardly laughed, and apologized once more.
....
Arthur walked out of the tavern, finally finished his quest, and was tired so he decided to log off.
"Log Out"
