Chapter 15: An upcoming trouble :The first challenge
An elf, she is from the elf tribe. Recalling what this woman said when she introduced herself, I was not only surprised but also i felt extremely excited. Obviously because I finally got the opportunity to meet an elf, one of the most famous species that usually appeared in the isekai manga I have readed. 'But shouldn't elfs have different ears than humans? And the book I compiled last time in the library didn't mention anything about them. Is it because the book is uncomplete? I should definitely collect more information in the future.' Suddenly I thought for something. I looked at the pendant she was wearing and activated my appraise skill. Just as expected, that pendant seems to have the ability to disguise its wearer. So that's why she looked different from the elfs i know of, 'probably'.
Elfs, a tribe that didn't differ a lot from humans in terms of appearance. You can say that their life methods wasn't that much different either but their nature was more friendly and just than us humans. They despised evil and because of that, they chose to live in remote areas away from beast and humans . It was true that humanity wasn't evil either but evil emotions like hatred were born easily in our hearts. Love can produce hatred, pride can produce hostility and indifference. The wealth can produce jealousy for other poor people. Such emotions were not approved by elfs and that made them choose to live away from others.
Elfs had natural talent in using magic since their souls, hearts and minds were connected to mother nature. That also made them extremely sensitive to malicious emotions or energie. They were so skilled in elemental magic and specially the healing magic too.
Knowing all this, naturally my earlier opinion on her changed. I no longer hesitated and asked about her problem again. "As a representative guardian of the elf tribe, I was charged with protecting the Larksdown since 2 hundred years. All these years the larksdown was safe and no major events happened but five years ago some evil energie has infiltrated the protective barrier. These type of energie wasn't an offensive attack but a dark magic. Unfortunately, it was too strong that the barrier's purification ability wasn't able to defend against it. Against such an annihilation, I tried to help the barrier with the purification magic to cure that evil energie but to no avail. In the end, I over exhausted my mental power but was unable to do anything and even my tamed beasts were controlled by that energie and attacked me. I had no choice but to run away in order to get an opportunity and ask for help but unexpectedly I wasn't able to get in touch with my tribe. Over these years, due to the backlash from over using my mental power ,I am no longer able to use magic so I came here to search for helper." As she finished narrating the story, she looked at me with sparkling eyes as she continued :" And here you are. I heard that the chosen ones are so strong. All these years, I kept looking for them but they were well hidden. And there were no much information about them. But luckily you appeared." she smiled.
At that time, I was cursing inside. It's true that I may be a chosen one but my level was too low. Back then in the game, the lowest level needed to enter larksdown was level 12 or 13. As a level 2 right now there was a long way to go. Thinking about that, I shook my head bitterly. 'Although, earlier in game, I was able to level from 1 to 10 in one day but right now this is not a game anymore. Last time it took me 2 hours to reach the first monsters spot whereas it only takes few seconds on game. Not to mention that any mistake I do here will result in real death. There is no altars and reviving here.' Thinking more about it, it seems that this troublesome s*it is my first challenge. What a great luck!

that evil energie probably powered up the monsters too. it wont be easy to confront them.
