Chapter 1: Wait, how did you said i died?
In the vast emptiness of space, two figures seem to be facing one another. One is a tall, brilliant shadow and the other is... well a small figure of a spectral woman that seems to be trying to understand where she is.
??? : ''Welcome child, you have died. Congratulation''
Mei: ''Wait, I'm dead? How the f*ck did I die?. And what do you even mean by congratulation?''
???: ''Hmm Well, yes you are dead, and as how it's simple, you were reading a book while drinking coffee, and you started laughing and choked to death. But congratulations you will be reincarnated like you wanted... well, that's what's written in your files anyway.''
Mei: '' oh. ok? So I really am dead. not that I was really happy about my life but dying just like that just proves that life truly is a bi*ch. at least can I choose where I'll go?''
???: ''No. you cant. the world you will go to has already been chosen by my superior and no you will not be told anything about that world''
Mei: ''F*CK. Why? ''
???: ''I don't know, not my job to know that. that's out of my jurisdiction. I am here to help people choose three powers they wish for and be on their way to reincarnation. to summarise, I am just a guide sent by the gods.''
Mei: ''Alright, so at least I can get some abilities. Will I at least be able to choose my gender and appearance? ''
guide: ''Well you can choose your gender if you want, but your appearance will depend mostly on your previous look and your new body genetics, and depending on your origin which will also not be chosen by you, and your species in your new life some change may happen to your choice, after all in this vast multiverse many species have no gender at all. As for the three powers I just want to clarify something, you cannot ask for a custom-made system with an AI that will help you and give you quests like in all those stories. you also can't ask for powers that are to OP like immortality or omnipotence. what you can ask for are abilities, skills, or special powers that are reasonable. Oh, and I'd appreciate it even more if you were to just ask for existing abilities from movies, series, or books as it would be even simpler for me after all I would just copy and paste from there. custom powers are quite a lot of work to get them approved by the higher up.''
Mei: ''Ok? So I would appreciate staying a woman''
guide: ''Alright, now what abilities do you wish for.''
Mei: ''thanks. so first, I would like to get the skill {Cut & Paste} from the book (Cut & Paste de Kono Sekai o Ikiteiku).''
guide: ''ok that's fine with me.''
Mei: ''second, I would like to get a skill that is a mixture of [appraisal complete] from the same book as the first skill, [observation] from the webtoon (the gamer), and [Demon Eyes] from (Isekai Shihai no Skill Taker).''
guide: ''Ok, I guess it is feasible. so next.''
Mei: ''For my third power I would like to be able to understand, speak, and read any type of language both from my former world and any world I may end up in.''
guide: ''Oh, alright so that's it.''
Mei: ''yeah I guess.''
guide: ''So now that you got your abilities, bye-bye and don't die too soon because next time... well there will be no next time. it's a single-use chance of reincarnation you got''
Mei: "Wait what?"
And just like that everything disappears into darkness.
