Chapter 12: Chapter 12: A Bit Of A Narcissist

Perseus POV

I'm the only kid who was allowed to have parents come along since I'm a child of their so called ritual and my health can turn unstable anytime until I reach a certain age. Apart from the 2 dozen kids, a lot of the watchers came along to protect the chief and the prince, the chief allowed one aide of the prince to come along so that the other side can feel secured, but they are both given pills to swallow where it then made them collapse in a few seconds.

We were then led to the edge where there was a person using magic to created an elevated platform of light to bring people up or down.

At the bottom of the tree is where the original village was and still operate as a trade market, farms and other business ventures that benefits travelers and supply our people.

We then led deep into the forest where I was told that we are surrounded by the most dense forest filled with the most dangerous creatures, our watchers are not to only scout but hunt them and created a name for themselves, so even the kingdom wouldn't recklessly wage war against us and acknowledge us as not just a village but a small nation altogether.

I was then told a story of how the founding people of the village made friends with the rose guardian of the blue rose, and why the first members were brought here.

It's because the first people were hybrids, meaning that they were a mix of humans and demons, and back when demon blood were stronger than ever, humans feared them, demons refuse to take care of those who are mixed with 'lesser beings'. Tehios back then was where it was worst, constant conflict, and due to this isolationsim, Paradis, a mere human, helped defend the people and lead them when they were banished, he then reached where the current tree is, they thought back then that people regardless of which race will come after them, they needed to relocate to where no one would dare attack recklessly.

But as they trudged through the forest, when they were resting for the night, they found a beautiful woman who question what their purpose were, Paradis sensed that she was very powerful, so he decided to be friendly and answered her questions, that woman turned out to be guarding the blue rose and because of the blue rose being there, the area close to it are very safe, fertile lands, decent weather...she took pity on the people and told them to build there, the people listened.

As the years passed by, Paradis who was the leader, kept coming to asked for advice, and seek her help whenever monsters slipped into their safe space, she helped them and disappeared, no one was worthy of the rose.

Paradis in the end proved to be worthy of the rose after she gave him a challenge, but it was far too late, Paradis had only a couple years left, so he decided not to be blessed as a lord, instead he made a promise with her since the village befriended her throughout the years, the only ones who can be worthy and be blessed as a lord can only be the descendants of the original founders.

We were led through the dark forest and the watchers kept the monsters at bay, and we then reached this cave where we then walked in and descended, it was dark so most of us, including me, used magic to create small orbs of light to lit the dark cave.

But we then reached an open area, it was this large dome cavern that was brighten up by a large cluster of light crystals in the middle of the dome top.

There was a small hill that was filled with tiny blue roses that had no thorns, on top of it was a large tree with bright green leaves and sprouting the same thornless roses.

Right in front of the tree however was a really beautiful woman, she's about 168 cm tall, she got blue eyes, blue hair, and wears this beautiful dark blue dress. She must really like the color blue.

Oh, yeah, there's also a really fragrant blue rose with the sharpest thorns right below her, but the woman is more important here, don't worry, the author will hopefully have her picture posted on time.

"Miss Ruka." The chief greeted "I've brought guests, and the children are coming along due to us bringing 2 outsiders, I hope one of them catch your eye, may we one day be worthy."

"Nice to meet you all." She replied with a small bow "Please try to line up and come to me either in small groups or individually, I cannot talk to you all at once."

No idiot wouldn't sense it, that blue rose...it's defitely powerful alright, even the other kids seem tensed, we're tempted to just rush to it and forcefully pull it out off the ground with both hands, but it seems to be a part of the test.

"Moms, I want to go last."

"Why?" Mom Rylee asked "This is an opportunity of a lifetime, everyone would love to queue for first."

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

In stories, figures like her are always worshipped and respected, regardless of the individual, so like with the price/duke, I'll just act unlike what they expected, catch em off guard and their interest will be hooked. I would love the title of lord...Perseus Silver, lord of the blue rose...yeah, it's got a nice ring to it.

Yes, I want power, but I just want a cool nickname, being referred to as the miracle kid doesn't satisfy my ego like a lord title does.

I can already imagine myself posing for a portrait with a blue rose in hand...yes, I'm sounding a bit like a narcissist, deal with it, this is called Perseus POV for a reason.
