Chapter 6: Chapter 6: New Party Member In Action!
Subaru, Kazuma, Aqua and their new party member Megumin set off to complete the toad killing quest and to see what the new member could bring to the table. They went out to the field again where Aqua was once again being chased around.
"Hey! Could you lure them over there so she can blow them up? Sorry if you get caught in the blast!"
"I don't want to be blown up! Get them away from me! Help me!"
Kazuma was yelling at Aqua to lure the toads to a safer region but she just ran around frantically so it was up to Megumin now.
"Darkness blacker than black and darker than dark, I beseech thee, combine with my deep crimson. The time of awakening cometh. Justice, fallen upon the infallible boundary, appear now as an intangible distortion! Dance, dance, dance! I desire for my torrent of power a destructive force: a destructive force without equal! Return all creation to cinders, and come from the abyss! Explosion!!"
It was like a cinematic masterpiece with lights everywhere all leading to a single space. Within seconds after Megumin's incantation a large blast came from where Aqua and the final 3 toads were. A few seconds later there was nothing left but a crater with Aqua crying towards the side of it. There was an audible plop splint behind them and both Subaru and Kazuma turned around to see Megumin fast first in the grass.
"What happened?!"
"While my mystic art, explosion magic, possess tremendous might, it also consumes tremendous magical power. In short, I used magic exceeding my limits, so now I can't move a muscle."
"Are you serious right now…?"
Kazuma was talking with Megumin while Subaru was investigating a strange sound he was hearing after Megumin shot off her spell. He put his ear to the ground and listened as carefully as he could.
"Are those…Bones?"
"Hm? You hear something?"
"I think there's something coming fr-!"
Undead began to appear around them and Subaru jumped back as one had appeared directly under him. He took out his short sword and started swinging it around trying to kill as many undead as he could. Kazuma was doing the same while also trying to protect Megumin who was completely defenseless.
'I need to figure something out!'
Subaru began to look around frantically and noticed a man in armor riding a horse off in the distance. He couldn't make out much more but it appeared that the man was just watching them as they struggled to fight back the undead.
'Who's that?'
Subaru started to struggle even more with defending himself as Aqua was trying to run over to them but was covered in slime making her fall a bunch of times. Subaru was trying his hardest but lost his total concentration when he heard a scream from behind him. He turned around as fast as he could to see that Kazuma's hand had been cut off and he switched to his other hand to use his sword.
"Kazu-!"
He felt something sharp pierce through his stomach and felt pain slowly expand through his body. He looked down to see he was stabbed through the stomach and blood was coming out fast staining his clothes red. The sword was pulled out from him and he fell to the ground watching Kazuma struggle to fight back the undead.
'This is bad! This is really, really bad! Am I gonna die here?!'
Many thoughts were going through Subaru's head at the point in time and he tried to reach out for his newly formed friends while stating these words:
"I promise…I'll save you!"
The blood was pumping out of him faster and faster as he continued hoping that his unknown power would activate and he'd be able to save everyone but was beginning to lose his consciousness. Within seconds after being stabbed Natsuki Subaru…Had lost his life.

SixSenses Woo! Subaru’s first death! That means the first loop is complete and we are moving onto the second loop, this also means the story will begin to divide off of Konosuba’s main story since Subaru will now do things differently and change the fate of everyone’s futures. However I will of course still be using Konosuba/Re:Zero as a reference so there will still be direct plot connections to the original stories.
