Chapter 53: Snow day
And the very next day, all of the villagers from the nearby village were standing outside the mansion all dressed up in warm clothes. Subaru was standing on an elevated surface, while hyping the village people up, with some comparisons from his world, that the villagers didn't get one bit, but they still continued to listen. And before long He started explaining the rules of the event.
"The rules are simple! By creating a snow sculpture, everyone's creativity and imagination will be put to the test. The winner gets a special prize!" Subaru declared while smiling brightly at the crowd of people in front of him.
While This was happening, Kaji was thinking about what kind of sculpture he wanted to make. He felt like having fun, and spending some quality time with the twins. But while he was thinking he heard Subaru yell out once again.
"Well then fight for victory!" The boy yelled, making the villagers react.
"OH!" Everyone shouted after Subaru spoke.
Kaji walked towards Rem, and Ram, and the three of them started walking around just enjoying each other's company. While walking around they were talking about many different things, and soon Meili joined them with a happy smile on her face as she ran through the snow-covered ground.
"Onii-chan! What kind of sculpture are you going to make?" Meili asked after running up to him.
"I'm not sure, I still haven't decided yet, and what about you, what kind of sculpture do you want to make?" Kaji asked while patting the girl, who giggled when he patted her head. Ram and Rem looked at him expecting the same treatment, and time Kaji wondered why they like being patted on the head so much?
"I want to make Onii-chan and Me and some mabeasts, and many more things!" She declared with a proud smile.
"Alright, then let's soo who can make something better, if your sculpture can beat mine I will give you a special prize." Kaji said, making the girl look at him with determination in her eyes.
"I will make the best sculpture then!" She said before running away to start making her sculpture.
"Sister, sister, should we participate and win this special Kaji prize?!" Rem asked while looking at her sister.
"Yes, we should participate and make Kaji do anything we wish him to do when we win." Ram said while looking at her sister with determination, and a confident smile on her face.
"Yes, we shall win this competition and receive Kaji's special reward, making him do anything we ask!" Rem spoke as the sisters nodded in mutual understanding of each other.
"Wait….what?" Kaji asked but was ignored as the twins walked away with eyes filled with burning desire.
"..." Kaji didn't know why they assumed that he would do anything they asked of him, but after sighing, he decided to try and make a sculpture of his own.
Kaji decided to just start sculpting without anything in mind, he decided to just do it and be done with it. While Sculpting Kaji realized how well he was doing, he himself was surprised, as his sculpture took from bit by bit. He didn't have anything in mind but somehow the sculpture of ice took shape and when he was finished, he stepped back so he could take a better look at it.
When he looked at what he made he smiled, he didn't really think that he would make a sculpture of nonother but Yaska herself. But unlike her original appearance, she was wearing her kimono properly, while her fox ears and tails were out. It was a beautiful sculpture, which made Kaji remember about her and the world to which he wanted to return to.
But the world of Re:zero still had some people he wanted to take out, he wanted to make sure that he was strong enough to fight the top 10 strongest creatures in the world of DXD. Therefore he decided to get everything he could from this world.
Kaji smiled while looking at the sculpture of the fox eared woman, he had some fond feelings towards her, she just had this motherly aura surrounding her. While Kaji was looking at his sculpture Subaru noticed it was stunned, Kaji's sculpture was different from the villagers who mostly made animal, or castle-like sculptures.
Kaji made a sculpture of a woman with fox ears, and nine tails behind her, while a slight smile showed on her face. It just seemed so realistic. After looking at Kaji's sculpture he could see that Kaji was looking at his sculpture with affection, as it was a real person. This made Subaru think that Kaji would have been a great otaku if he was born in the same world as him.
"This is amazing…." Was all that Came out of Subaru's mouth.
