Chapter 1: ch. 1 waking up
AN: just thought up this fic while trying to stave off my ADHD and go to sleep so don't expect constant updates.)
'I failed again.' Was the thought racing through Naruto's mind as he looked out the hospital room. 'Sasuke got away because I was too weak. Akamaru and Kiba are on the brink of death, Lee is broken again, Neji has a hole in his shoulder, Choji is in a coma with internal damage, and Shikamaru would be dead if not for Temari killing the rouge Uzumaki girl.' That last thought made Naruto grimace. 'I finally find a clan member and she's an evil bitch and I couldn't even solve my own clan's problem.'
Hearing the door open Naruto looked over. Seeing his pink haired teammate Naruto smiled "Sakura-Ch—*slap*"
Cutting her teammate of Sakura slapped Naruto while glaring at him. "Baka demon you let Sasuke go!" She yelled before storming out.
Sitting there with wide eyes Naruto shook while his emotions ran wild. Sadness, guilt, rage, fear, all these emotions ran through him before he looked down with dull eyes. 'Huh so even she thinks I'm a demon now.'
Sighing Naruto shook his head before getting up. Grabbing his orange jumpsuit he saw it was tattered and ripped. 'Damm this was my last pair, I don't like this kill me orange but it's the only thing the civilians will sell me.' Gritting his teeth Naruto walked over to the window and slid it open. As he was about to hop out he was thrown back onto the bed.
"Not yet brat Tsunade wanted to give you one more check up." Spoke a spiky white haired man wearing sage clothes.
"Dammit Ero-Sennin I hate hospitals." Naruto whined while shoving all his negative emotions and thought down as he always does.
Snorting jiraya changed the topic. "Anyways we'll be leaving the village soon."
Raising an eyebrow Naruto asked "why we got another mission?"
"In a way I guess, remember those ninjas wearing the cloaks with red clouds?" Jiraya asked getting a nod in return he continued. "They're a mercenary organization full of S-ranked nin. We don't know why exactly but they're targeting the jinchuuriki. So I'm going to take you out and train you on how to defend yourself."
Nodding Naruto gave jiraiya a skeptical look. "You mean your ganna give me some cryptic words and a little advice than go and peep on women."
Slapping Naruto on the back of the head jiraiya replied "no this is serious, before I wasn't really training you just testing you. Now I'm going to train you till you drop daily, than once I deem you ready I'll send you on missions to gain experience. Also by missions I mean actual shinobi missions not the genin D-rank and low C-rank ones. You will learn how to be stealthy and deadly, for if you don't you will die." Jiraiya stated in a serious and dangerous tone.
Looking into jiraiya's eyes and seeing he was serious Naruto felt a smile take over his face, and not his fake ones but a real and genuine smile. "Really you'll actually train me?" Seeing jiraiya nod in Naruto exclaimed "finally someone will actually teach me! The only ones to ever actually teach me were iruka, Neko, and weasel!"
Letting his serious side down jiraiya smiled and spoke "glad your happy brat so once tsunade gives you the go ahead go home and pack your stuff."
Nodding Naruto spoke "ah about that I don't really have anything at my house, my house is trashed by the civilians regularly and that was my last piece of clothing." He finished while pointing at the burnt and shredded jumpsuit.
Nodding jiraiya replied "hmm I see anyways your ganna need new clothes anyway no more kill me orange you'll get shinobi clothing and tools."
"Ah about that the stores won't sell to me, also can I go say bye to my friends." Naruto asked
"Ya sure meet me at the village gates tomorrow morning, and I'll get your new clothes and tools." Jiraiya spoke before hopping out the window.
As he left the door to the room slammed open with an irate tsunade walked in. "Where's that perv jiraiya?" She asked
"Ah he just left." Naruto replied while inching away from the woman.
Growling tsunade glared at the window before taking a deep breath and looking at Naruto. "I'll deal with him later, now I'm sure jiraiya explained your situation." She started and seeing his nod she continued "good now I'll make sure your fine, after that follow me to my office I need to tell you some things before you leave."
*homages office twenty minutes later*
"Alright so what you need baa-Chan?" Naruto asked grumpily before dodging a paper weight.
"Wat h your tone brat." Tsunade grawled
"Oh sorry but I had to run through the village with my ass hanging out because you pulled me along while wearing this hospital garb." Naruto growled out in return.
Smirking tsunade returned "that's your fault you could of just put a henge on yourself."
Opening his mouth to snark back he paused before snapping his mouth shut and looking away.
Nodding to herself tsunade than continued. "Now I've finally been able to go over the reports of your chunin exams." She stared and seeing she got his attention she continued "you passed the first and second exam and did well enough. Now during the third exam you faught and beat neji hyuuga with the help of the kyuubi, than you did the same to Gaara, and a handful of oto ninja." As she spoke she noticed him flinch at the mention of the oto ninja. 'Ah right first kills, well kakashi should have talked to him.' She thought before continuing. "You have the physical power to become a chunin, but unfortunately you don't have the mental capacity for a chunin. You don't know how to lead, or strategize with a team. During your training trip with jiraiya I want you to have clones study and train in strategy, leading, and politics."
Nodding Naruto didn't complain, he knew where he fell short and wasn't going to risk people's lives for his pride. "Alright baa-Chan I'll do that." He agreed
Nodding with a satisfied smile tsunade thought 'now for the next topic, how do I tell him he's part of a clan.' Taking in a breath she started "now about the next part, about your last name~" she was cut off by Naruto's snort.
"I know I'm the uzumaki clan head." He stated plainly
"What how?" She asked
"Simple as much as the elders wanted to hide the uzumaki clan and take away my birthright and money me and the old man constantly ran interference. If I wasn't told about my clan than my clans riches and scrolls would have been taken away years ago. I still don't have access to any of it though." Naruto replied
"Ah good than this next part is easy, I knew your mom Kushina when she was a kid." Tsunade spoke getting Naruto's attention. "She lived at the Senju clan compound after uzu was destroyed. Also since my grandmother was an uzumaki and I'm the hokage it means I can do this. Naruto uzumaki I tsunade senju give you a seat on the counsel as uzumaki clan head and give you access to all uzumaki clan property."
Smiling Naruto spoke "thanks hokage-Sama I'll take my place once I return."
Nodding tsunade made a face "formality doesn't suit you brat you may look like your father but your kushina's son."
Laughing Naruto smiled and replied "thanks baa-Chan, but I don't want my parentage announced till I'm S-ranked. Kumo will come for my uzumaki blood while iwa for my father."
"Ah so the old man told you that as well." Tsunade mused but was corrected by Naruto.
"No but I look like him, and I did some investigating once I was informed of my mother and it was known amongst the older ninja that kushina uzumaki often forcefully dragged a minato Namikaze into a ramen stand." Naruto spoke with a laugh that was ecoed by Tsunades own laugh. "Of course the fact that jiraiya not only taught me the Rasengan but let me summon the toads as well comfirmed everything."
"Alright good than I want you to go to your parents house and grab their scrolls and learn everything with your clones. I want another blond flash and terrifying uzumaki kenjutsu master bye the time you get back." Tsunade ordered
Widening his eyes Naruto shook in excitement "yes hokage baa-Chan!"
"Good now you can let your clones gather all that, now go and say bye to your friends." Tsunade spoke while glaring at a pile of paperwork.
Smiling Naruto went to the window before speaking "oh baa-Chan use shadow clones to do your paperwork they transfer memories." As he finished he jumped out the window.
Slamming her head on her desk tsunade groaned before creating two clones. "Stupid, stupid, stupid." She repeated while slamming her head down.
